The battle competitions does sound like the killer feature for Sun and Moon. If it's implemented well, we'll definitely do some tournaments. We used to have some great MKDS and MK7 races. Trading and battling never really caught on here but I think this tournament mode certainly has potential.

Yeah, my internet connection wasn't good enough in the MKDS days but I did manage to join some MK7 races and they were super fun while they lasted. It would be really cool to see more of a community building on PM.Net around Sun and Moon. Let's hope the games have some other cool online features we can participate in together.

There does seem like there might be quite a few new Pokemon this time in Sun and Moon. I agree that in the last few games, leveling up Pokemon has got super easy and super fast which does lower the games difficulty significantly.

While I'm enjoying the new pokemon reveals, I'm starting to wonder if there will be any surprises left by the time the games are released. Unless this generation introduces a particularly large number of new pokemon, it feels like we're getting a pretty high percentage revealed before the games' release. And with the release date still four months away, I expect the reveals will keep on coming to build hype. I'm just hoping the whole generation isn't revealed beforehand and we're still left with some new pokemon to discover in the games themselves.

Although Hyper Training hasn't been fully explained, if it really is a way to increase a pokemon's IVs, I'm not too fond of the idea. This would be yet another "feature" that really just removes the challenge and satisfaction of building a strong pokemon yourself. I don't think I would mind it so much if it was just for legendaries or something like that, but it seems like it defeats one of the key purposes of breeding. Of course, the fact that an event pokemon has been announced as holding a bottle cap may mean that this new item is extremely rare. So perhaps Hyper Training won't just be a quick way to give any old pokemon 6 top IVs - we may have to be very picky about which pokemon we use it on.

So that I don't sound like I'm just complaining, I can see a positive side to Hyper Training even if it is something you can use on any pokemon: it will at least mean that honest players have an equal chance at competitive battling as hackers. I just wish the solution had been better detection of hacked pokemon, instead.

I do like the idea of players being able to organise their own battle competitions. That sounds like a great way for fan communities to be able to play together. Perhaps we'll see a PocketMonsters.Net tournament someday? =)

I'm thinking Mimicyu might be a very popular Pokemon for Halloween at the Pokemon Centers in Japan. I can see them doing a lot of merchandise and tie ins with this one.

Kiteruguma reminds me too much of Pedobear to take it seriously as a new Pokemon.

I really like the concept behind Mimicyu. Yeah the design is silly, but that's the whole point, and it makes so much sense with its backstory. I think it works brilliantly as a ghost pokemon.

I'm not very fond of Kiteruguma, though. I feel like they could have made something much cooler with a red panda. But I suppose it's not completely terrible. Maybe it will grow on me over time.
