Ash and co. are heading towards the Pokémon Center. The weather is getting pretty bad, and they need a place to rest in. Once they are fully rested, they will head towards Sootopolis City. Brock points to the Pokémon Center. Everyone is happy to see it. Ash runs towards the Pokémon Center, and says,"Last one there is a rotten exeggute!" Everyone rushes behind him to catch up. A Snorunt is looking at our heroes behind a tree.
They've made it in the Pokémon Center, and they all greet Nurse Joy. May asks if they can stay for awhile. Nurse Joy tells her that a huge blizzard is approaching, so a rest will be perfect. Brock falls in love with Nurse Joy and holds her hand. Nurse Joy looks a little nervous with Brock. Suddenly, the same Snorunt comes up and freezes Brock up with an Icy Wind attack. Ash wonders what the Pokémon is, and he takes out his Pokédex. May thinks that Snorunt is really cute. Nurse Joy tells Snorunt that it's nice to see it again. Max asks Nurse Joy if Snorunt has been at the Pokémon Center before. She tells Max that Snorunt always comes when visitors shows up. Snorunt looks inside Ash's backpack and takes out his badge case. Ash demands for Snorunt to let go from his badge case. Nurse Joy replies that Snorunt always plays tricks on the visitors. Snorunt then runs away with Ash's badge case. Nurse Joy reassures them that Snorunt is just playing a game. Ash will soon get his badges back. Ash exclaims that he will not let Snorunt just get away.
He sends out his Corphish to help get the badges back. Then they run to get the badges back. Brock suggests that they go too. May and Max agree, and so they all go and chase after Ash. Snorunt opens up the badge case and looks at all seven badges. It looks ahead and comes across a dead end. Everyone else corners Snorunt. Snorunt picks up one of the badges. May thinks that Snorunt will give the badges back to Ash. Ash walks down to Snorunt and thanks it. Suddenly, Snorunt throws the badge into the air, and freezes it with an Icy Wind attack. Ash catches it, but it's too cold for the badge to stay in his hands.
Snorunt puts the badges away, and uses Double Team. Nobody knows which is the real Snorunt. Max tries to point out the real Snorunt, but they end up being the fakes. Ash tells Pikachu and Corphish to stop the Snorunt. The Pokémon jumps up, but the copies disappear and Pikachu and Corphish end up hitting each other on the head. The real Snorunt runs away to a different room. Nurse Joy asks the Pokémon if they will be okay. The Pokémon says yes. Nurse Joy notices that something is wrong because Snorunt should've given the badges back by now. Ash looks at the defrosted badge in his hand, and tells himself that he won't give up.
Team Rocket is walking down the snowy path. Meowth complains that it's very cold outside. Jessie tells Meowth that she'll do the complaining instead. James also points out that they haven't eaten anything for two days. Jessie shouts out for somebody to save them. James immediately exclaims out that they're saved. He points out to a Pokémon Center. The Pokémon Center is warm and loaded with food. All Team Rocket wants is food.
Ash and co. continues to walk around to find Snorunt. Pikachu looks around and spots another one of Ash's badges. It's the Knuckle Badge. Brock wonders if Snorunt is giving them all back, but one badge at a time. Corphish senses something and runs ahead from the group. Corphish rushes into a room. The room is also known as the kitchen. May thinks that Snorunt is also into stealing food. Ash has had enough and demands for Snorunt to show itself. Team Rocket shows themselves. They are stealing food from the kitchen. Meowth tells them that they don't have their badges. May and Brock says that Team Rocket is still stealing and they want the food back.
Snorunt appears from behind the boxes. Ash notices it right away. Ash, Pikachu, and Corphish all chase the Snorunt from one end to the other. Team Rocket is shocked that everyone else has forgotten about them. They hate being ignored. Snorunt quickly turns around and uses Icy Wind. Ash dodges it, and the attack goes straight into Team Rocket. Team Rocket becomes a frozen icicle. Ash, Pikachu, and Corphish continues to chase Snorunt. Team Rocket shakes the ice off. They still want to eat the food. Nurse Joy shouts out to Team Rocket to put down the food. Snorunt hears this, and hits Team Rocket with a Headbutt. May and Max wants Ash to give Snorunt a little bit of help. Ash agrees and tells Corphish to use Crabhammer. Corphish hits Team Rocket, Snorunt opens the window, and Team Rocket goes blasting off again.
Nurse Joy thanks Ash and Snorunt. Ash then tells Snorunt that it's a pretty good battler. Max adds on that the Pokémon Center must mean a whole lot to Snorunt. Snorunt takes out Ash's badge case. Ash thinks that Snorunt will really give the badges back. Ash holds out his hand and thanks Snorunt. Before Ash can take the badges, Snorunt fires an Icy Wind directly at Ash. Snorunt laughs and runs out the window. Ash gets angry and runs after Snorunt. Nurse Joy is worried because the blizzard is about to come. Brock tells Nurse Joy to wait in the Pokémon Center. Him, Max, and May will look for Ash before the blizzard starts.
Snorunt happily hops on the rocks. Ash is still chasing Snorunt. Snorunt is now on a larger rock. It slips on the snow and falls down the hill. Ash quickly rushes after Snorunt. He grabs him and both of them slide down the hill. They approach a rock in the middle of the hill. Ash turns around, and his back slams right into the rock. He screams and then falls to the ground. Snorunt walks to Ash wondering if he will be okay.
Brock, May, Max, and Pikachu run in the doors to the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy asks where Ash is at. They tell her that they couldn't find him anywhere and that they can't see much of anything because of the blizzard. They'll have to wait until the blizzard subsides.
Ash is laying on the ground. He wakes up and wonders where he is at. He finds himself in an igloo with Snorunt. Then Ash thanks Snorunt for helping him get out of the storm. Ash looks outside, and notices that the blizzard is picking up really fast. Snorunt takes out an apple and hands it to Ash. Ash is about to take it, but then he remembers the same trick Snorunt pulled earlier. Snorunt shakes its head saying that it won't do that. Ash decides to trust Snorunt and takes the apple. He bites into it and says that it is really good. Then he offers Snorunt the same apple. Snorunt gladly takes it, and bites into the apple several times. Ash thinks that everyone else is worried about them. Snorunt offers Ash two more apples. Ash takes the apples. Suddenly, Snorunt grabs ahold of Ash's hat, and runs away. This gets Ash mad.
Snorunt heads towards the Pokémon Center. When he gets there, May takes Ash's hat. Max now knows that Ash is safe, and Snorunt nods its head. Brock sees that the snow has stopped, and so they decide to look for Ash. Snorunt agrees to show them the way to Ash. They go on snowmobiles to find Ash. They find Ash. Ash is surprised that they came to save him. May gives Ash his hat back. Brock says that the igloo is really impressive. Max asks Ash if Snorunt gave the badges back. Ash says that Snorunt still hasn't given them back. Nurse Joy orders Snorunt to give the badges back.
Suddenly, a mechanical claw swoopes down and grabs Pikachu and Snorunt. Pikachu and Snorunt are dropped into small cages. This is all from Team Rocket. Ash demands for the Pokémon back. Team Rocket says their motto. Pikachu tries to shock the cage, but nothing happens. Snorunt uses Icy Wind, and the cage breaks. Jessie thought that the cages were guaranteed to never break, but apparantly they were guaranteed to never fade. Nurse Joy tells Snorunt to use Icy Wind. Wobbuffet comes in and blocks the attack with a Mirror Coat. The Icy Wind hits Ash and his friends. Team Rocket is now escaping in their balloon.
Team Rocket decides to give Pikachu to the boss so that they can become super rich. Ash and co. are catching up towards Team Rocket on their snowmobiles. James says that no one likes a person who doesn't know when to quit. May tells them something back and Team Rocket pouts. Jessie sees that Ash and co. are catching up to them. Meowth gets out the remote and boosts the flame. The balloon speeds up away from them. However, Nurse Joy knows a shortcut through the forest.
They head through some trees. Then they go over a bump, and Snorunt falls off, but Ash grabs onto it. Ash tells Snorunt to hang on tight. Up ahead is Team Rocket. They drive off the cliff to get Team Rocket. Ash throws Snorunt right into Team Rocket's balloon. Snorunt uses Icy Wind on the whole balloon causing it to freeze. Snorunt then grabs Pikachu and jumps off the balloon. Ash gets off the snowmobile and dives in for Snorunt and Pikachu.
Team Rocket's balloon has crashed to the ground. Jessie sends out Seviper and James sends out Cacnea. Seviper starts off with a Bite, and Cacnea prepares for a Needle Arm. Snorunt fires an Icy Wind at Seviper and Cacnea, freezing them. Pikachu sends Team Rocket off with a Thunderbolt.
Nurse Joy asks Snorunt if it'll give the badges back to Ash. Snorunt tugs on Ash's jacket. May thinks that Snorunt really likes Ash. Ash tells Snorunt that it can come with him on his journey. Snorunt agrees, but first it wants to prove that Ash has the strength to capture it. Pikachu starts off with an Iron Tail, but Snorunt uses Double Team to block the attack off. Snorunt runs out and uses Headbutt on Pikachu. Ash commands for Pikachu to use Iron Tail right where it's standing. All of the copies disappear, and then Pikachu uses Quick Attack on the real Snorunt. Pikachu finishes the fight off with Thunder. Snorunt falls to the ground and the badge case falls out. Ash throws a Pokéball at Snorunt and hopes that he captures it. The Pokéball stops shaking and Ash does his pose.
Later, Nurse Joy heals Ash's Snorunt. She hands the Pokéball back to him when the healing is done. Ash calls Snorunt out. Snorunt faces all of the other Pokémon belonging to Ash, May, and Brock. Ash tells Snorunt that these are all of its new friends. All of the other Pokémon say hi to Snorunt. Corphish approaches Snorunt, but Snorunt just uses an Icy Wind attack on Corphish. May tells Combusken to use Fire Spin to thaw out Corphish. Ash asks Corphish if it's okay, but Corphish collapses. Some things will probably never change with Snorunt, and Ash teaches Snorunt about manners.
