Re: Re: Smash 43: ロバートと相撲レスラーがバトルロイヤル!?/Robert to sumō wrestler ga battle royal!?
Definitely one of the best episodes in quite a while. The Scramble segment was really entertaining, especially the part where Yamamoto proved to be really knowledgeable when it comes to Pokémon types, as well as the face-off between Victini Akiyama and the sumo wrestler, where Akiyama proved to be really agile and managed to avoid all of his opponent's moves.
It was kinda surprising seeing Misaki sing for the first time on Smash as Battle Woman M, but I enjoyed the song and would be really happy if it finally replaced Takeshi Tsuruno's "Can you say the Pokémon? BW" as Smash's ED. (Seriously, that song needs to be declared illegal due to causing heavy ear-bleeding :P) Overall, a great and really enjoyable episode. The preview at the end also made me really psyched to watch the next episode, which is bound to be interesting, what with the airing of the first few minutes of one of the two movies, as well as the comparison between the two versions of M14. |

Re: Re: Snarl Zoroark to be distributed in Greece
Quote From: Chance Quote From: news Zoroark is an extremely rare and coveted Pokémon, which has never been available to the Greek fans of the series in the past. But didn't they get the 3 Legendary Dogs events, for HeartGold/SoulSilver? Yeah, we got the event Raikou, Entei and Suicune via WiFi, like the rest of Europe. However, what I think the writer of the original article meant (the news article is a mere translation of the original article posted on the nintendo.gr website) is that Greece never got it directly, since getting the event Raikou/Entei/Suicune in the Gen IV games was an indirect way to get Zoroark. That or the writer wasn't pretty well-informed. :P This post was lasted edited on 14 Jun 2011 6:38:57AM by Erlade

Re: Re: BW 33: リグレーと未確認飛行物体!/Ligray to mikakunin hikō buttai!
Quote From: Chance That's very true. Shinji was a real jerk, but at least, there was some interesting writing done with him (like the Hikozaru you mentionned). But so far, I haven't seen anything really interesting about Shootie so far, except his over-sized ego. He's not just 'selfish and looking down on Satoshi', in my opinion (though I couldn't exactly pin down what I disliked so much in him). What's more, we're quite used to rivals looking down on Satoshi, which is another reason I don't like him. So far, there hasn't been anything original about his character. Then again, I agree I'm not being fair with Shootie, comparing him to Shinji, who had so many more episodes than Shootie. Well, if you only take into account the first few episodes of DP and BW, Shootie has appeared in roughly the same number of episodes as Shinji had up to DP40, and also got roughly the same amount of focus (as BW23, 24 and 26 haven't aired yet, we might be missing some of Shootie's appeareances). Even though I agree that Shootie hasn't done anything interesting enough so far that could greatly distinguish himself from Satoshi's other rivals, if you look back into Shinji's first appearances, he didn't have anything interesting going for himself either. Except for being a jerk to his Pokémon, his character only started unfolding after DP40 (at least the way I see it), so I guess we should just be more patient when it comes to Shootie. I think the writers will find something to make him more interesting in the episodes to come. :) Besides, it's not like they haven't tried to differentiate him a bit from the other rivals. We have seen that he also has a soft side, apart from his normal, selfish one, (he used his Hatoboh to protect Satoshi's Mamepato from the Fushide's attack and then lead them to the Central Area of Hiun City in BW22, and also helped Satoshi identify the reason why Mijumaru's Aqua Jet keeps failing in BW34) which, as far as I remember, none of the other rivals had shown so early into the series. |

Re: Re: BW 33: リグレーと未確認飛行物体!/Ligray to mikakunin hikō buttai!
Quote From: Chance Anyway, about the next episode : I am so NOT looking forward to it. In my opinion, Shootie is THE worst rival in the whole series' history. I've rarely seen a character with such an over-sized ego. I hope the writers did a good job with him ! I wouldn't say he is the worst rival we've seen so far... If anyone should be called the worst rival ever, that would have to be Shinji, in my opinion (even though the closure he got in the last episodes of the Sinnoh league made him look a lot nicer). We've seen him mistreat his Pokémon just to make them stronger (especially Hikozaru), catch Pokémon and then release them because he didn't deem them strong enough to be a part of his team (like the multiple Mukkuru he caught when Satoshi first met him, which he released shortly afterwards) and not care about his Pokémon's feelings in general... So far, Shootie hasn't done anything that would make him look as bad as Shinji was shown to be in the first few episodes of DP... well, except for being a bit selfish and looking down on Satoshi because he's from Kanto. |

Quote From: Chance I was a bit taken aback when I saw that Satoshi's Mamepato had evolved... this definitely happened during the Rocket Gang vs Team Plasma episodes. You're wrong there, Satoshi's Mamepato evolved in BW22, the episode where the swarm of Fushide caused an uproar in Hiun City. It was helping Satoshi and the others lead the Fushide to the central area of Hiun City and it evolved in the process. This post was lasted edited on 09 May 2011 12:42:33PM by Erlade

(Question: Within a herd, a Donfan has a higher rank the longer and bigger a certain part of its body is. Which part out of the following is it? Possible answers: A: Trunk B: Tail C: Tusks. Correct answer: C) Character bios written: - Jun: Satoshi and his friends encountered Jun again on their way to Nagisa City. Jun informed Satoshi that he had already gathered eight badges and, thus was eligible to take part in the Shinou League. At the town's Pokémon Center, Jun met Shinji for the first time and he challenged him to a battle. Shinji refused, saying that he was in the middle of adjusting his team for the Shinou League, and a battle would distort their condition. He told him he should challenge Satoshi to a battle instead. Even though Jun refused to do that at first, as he didn't consider Satoshi to be on the same level with him due to having only seven badges, he decided to challenge him to a battle after hearing Satoshi's explanation concerning what had happened between him and Shinji, and seeing how determined he was to win the next battle against him. The first Pokémon Jun chose for his three-on-three battle against Satoshi was his Emperte, while Satoshi chose his Moukazaru. During the battle, Satoshi's Moukazaru was hit by a powerful Hydro Cannon attack and blasted off into the nearby forest. As Satoshi was calling out to it, Rocket Gang suddenly appeared and managed to trap Satoshi and the others, as well as capture Satoshi's Pikachu, Hikari's Pochama and Jun's Emperte shortly afterwards. In the end, with the help of Shinji's Eleboo, who aided in stopping Rocket Gang's destroyed mecha from collapsing and injuring the captured Pokémon, and Goukazaru, who had just evolved unexpectedly from Satoshi's Moukazaru, Jun was reunited with his Emperte. - Jun's Emperte: Jun's Emperte was Jun's first choice for his battle against Satoshi in the town near Nagisa City. During the battle, Emperte launched a powerful Hydro Cannon attack which sent his opponent, Satoshi's Moukazaru, flying into the nearby forest. - Satoshi's Moukazaru: Satoshi's Moukazaru was Satoshi's first choice for his battle against Jun in the town near Nagisa City. During the battle, Emperte launched a powerful Hydro Cannon attack which sent Moukazaru flying into the nearby forest. As Satoshi was calling out to it, Rocket Gang suddenly appeared and managed to trap Satoshi and the others, as well as capture Satoshi's Pikachu, Hikari's Pochama and Jun's Emperte shortly afterwards. Upon Moukazaru's return it was revealed that its ability, Blaze, had activated as it took a lot of damage from Emperte's Hydro Cannon, and that led to it not recognizing Satoshi. Rocket Gang tried to take advantage of the situation, but Moukazaru managed to escape and, after attacking and eventually destroying their mecha, sent them blasting off. Then, in order to prevent the mecha from collapsing while Pikachu, Pochama and Emperte were still trapped into the container, Shinji sent out his Eleboo and ordered it to use Protect. In the meantime, Satoshi tried to calm his Moukazaru down and help it overcome its fury that was caused by the activation of Blaze. Just as Eleboo's Protect started cracking under the weight of Rocket Gang's mecha, Moukazaru snapped out of its rage and rushed to help the trapped Pokémon. During the process, it evolved into Goukazaru. After Pikachu and the others were saved, Shinji told Satoshi that Moukazaru turned the power of Blaze into energy for evolution, which meant that it had finally managed to control its ability. - Satoshi's Goukazaru: After snapping out of the rage that was caused by the activation of its ability, Blaze, Satoshi's Moukazaru evolved into Goukazaru in order to save Satoshi's Pikachu, Hikari's Pochama and Jun's Emperte from Rocket Gang's collapsing mecha. Shinji, who had witnessed everything, told Satoshi that Moukazaru had managed to control Blaze at last, and that it had turned the power of its ability into energy for evolution. He also informed Satoshi that his brother wanted to see another full battle between the two of them, and promised to battle against him and Goukazaru in the Shinou League. She was able to win the battle by skillfully using her Plusle and Minun's combination moves in order to block the attacks of Musashi's Habunake and Megayanma, thus easily subtracting a great deal of points from her opponent. The Cheering Pokémon helped Urara reach the final battle round of the contest, where she faced off against her rival, Hikari. Urara gave Hikari a hard time, as Plusle and Minun managed to successfully dodge many of their opponents' moves. Their Encore also had a significant impact in Hikari's strategy rendering her Manmoo and Hinoarashi susceptible to Plusle and Minun's attacks. However, with the help of Manmoo and Hinoarashi who encouraged her when she was feeling helpless, Hikari managed to pull off a last-minute victory after perfecting her Flame Ice combination towards the end of the battle, which helped her deduct enough points from Urara before the timeout. This made Urara really upset and she vowed to beat Hikari in the Grand Festival. - Urara's Plusle: Urara used her Plusle and Minun in the battle rounds of the Asatsuki Town Pokémon Contest. The Cheering Pokémon were used against Musashi's Habunake and Megayanma in the first battle round, where they managed to easily block their opponents' attacks and overpower them with their combination moves, thus aiding Urara in easily subtracting a great deal of points from Musashi, and winning the battle in the end. After defeating other co-ordinators too, Urara reached the final battle round of the contest, where her Plusle and Minun faced off against Hikari's Manmoo and Hinoarashi. Plusle and Minun's combined Encore rendered their opponents helpless and susceptible to their attacks. However, after Hikari got encouraged by her Manmoo and Hinoarashi, she managed to overcome her fears and pull off a turnaround victory by perfecting her Flame Ice combination, which resulted in her deducting enough points from Urara before the timeout. - Urara's Minun: Urara used her Plusle and Minun in the battle rounds of the Asatsuki Town Pokémon Contest. Their combination move seemed to be imperfect, as the ice that engulfed Hinoarashi's Flame Wheel attack melted really quickly. Even though they hadn't mastered Flame Ice yet, Manmoo and Hinoarashi managed to win through all of the battle rounds, eventually reaching the finals where they faced off against Urara's Plusle and Minun. Plusle and Minun proved to be two pretty strong opponents for Manmoo and Hinoarashi, especially due to their combined Encore attack. However, after encouraging Hikari, who was feeling desperate, and helping her overcome her fears, Manmoo and Hinoarashi managed to master their Flame Ice combination and pull off a last-minute victory, helping Hikari earn her fifth ribbon and a place at the Grand Festival. - Hikari's Hinoarashi: Hikari's Hinoarashi was used alongside Hikari's Manmoo in the battle rounds of the Asatsuki Town Pokémon Contest.
