Ralph and his Nidoran♂ lives next door to Emily and her Nidoran♀ on Mandarin Island South. Ralph and Emily shared an ongoing feud with each other as by coincidence they both managed to obtain the same Pokémon at the same time.

Ralph's Nidoran♂ fell in love with Emily's Nidoran♀ however were not allowed to see each other much because Ralph and Emily were not on good terms. It was not until Jessie, James and Meowth stole both the Nidoran that they decided to work together so they good team up against Team Rocket.
