Title やじるしになって!
Become an Arrow!
Song やじるしになって!

Becoming an Arrow! is the first opening for the Pocket Monsters Best Wishes Season 2 series.

The opening starts off with Satoshi, Iris, Dent, Pikachu, Kibago and Yanappu running towards a bright light and various arrow symbols on the background pointing to the direction they're running off to, as the familiar text is shown on the bottom of the screen: The mysterious creatures of this planet Pocket Monsters... "Pokémon" for short! (この星の不思議な生き物 ポケットモンスター・・・ ちぢめてポケモン!) Now the story of the encounters, adventures and battles of Satoshi and the Pokémon begins! (今、サトシとポケモンたちの出会いと冒険と戦いの物語がはじまる!) The camera then focuses separately on each of the characters and their Pokémon. Satoshi is shown with Pikachu on his shoulder as the lyrics say "One dashing arrow!" (つっぱしる やじるし ひとつ!), Iris is shown together with Kibago when the line "One nimble arrow!" (しなやかな やじるし ひとつ!) is being sung and finally Dent is shown as the line "One thinking arrow!" (かんがえる やじるし ひとつ!) appears.

The trio is then shown together, with Satoshi holding a monster ball on his right hand, covering the Pocket Monsters Best Wishes! logo. They all jump off to somewhere, and the "Season 2" part of the logo gets added to the pre-existing one. The logo is then wholly uncovered with a glass-shattering effect, while the number "2" and the "Season" part are being given emphasis on with a fire and thunder effect respectively.

A few Pokemon are then seen running in a valley together with Yogiras and they are joined by even more Pokemon as the camera switches to a side-view of them.

Satoshi, Iris, Dent and their Pokémon are seen running on a road by the sea where various Pokémon are swimming, but they're interrupted by Meloetta (Voice Forme) who comes along and takes Satoshi's hat from him.

At the Okido laboratory, all of Satoshi's Pokemon that he caught in the past (including Zenigame and Okorizaru) are shown casually relaxing while Professor Okido, Hanako and Kenji are there with them. Lizardon is seen giving the viewers a thumbs up before the scene switch.

In a setting of ruins that resemble ancient architecture, Satoshi is seen trying to reach a destination, but more ruins are being formed and block his way. Pikachu then appears and uses its Thunderbolt attack to help destroy them, so that Satoshi can keep going.

Keldeo, together with Virizion, Cobalon and Terrakion, is seen on top of an iceberg getting ready to use one of its attacks. With a flash, the scene switches and Kyurem is shown smashing a piece of ice. Its two new Formes, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem also appear.

After another scene switch, Adeku, Shirona, Katorea, Shaga and Shizui are shown standing on top of an ancient-looking building. Satoshi, Pikachu, Iris, Kibago, Dent and Muggyo are seen standing at the entrance leading to that building a little dumbfounded.

As the lyrics say "[...]bring light" (光をくれる - hikari wo kureru), Hikari is seen coming from the sky together with Pochama, who then uses Hydro Pump.

Before jumping to the next scene, half-lit close-ups of the Rocket Gang trio are shown, where the opening's animation really shines.

Satoshi's Best Wishes rivals are seen next. Kenyan is shown alongside his Dageki while the line "One too heated arrow!" (あつすぎる やじるし ひとつ!) is being sung, Shootie is shown together with his newly-evolved Jalorda as the lyrics say "Two arrows competing with each other!" (こそいあう やじるし ふたつ!). Bel and her Enbuoh appear running off to somewhere when the line "Three arrows helping each other!" (たすけあう やじるし みっつ!) is being sung, but Bel trips and falls, causing her Enbuoh to fall as well. The protagonists, the rivals and Hikari are shown together with the Pokémon. They all fly off together with an arrow-like animation, "piercing" the building Adeku and the others are standing atop. The final scene shows Satoshi, Iris, Kibago and Dent together with Satoshi's Isshu Pokémon, one of which looks a bit different.

Departure of Hikari and Pochama - Replaced by Kotetsu and Riolu

In Best Wishes Season 2 episode 10, Hikari and Pochama were replaced by Kotetsu and Riolu in the opening.
