In an interview with Mercury News, Reggie Fils Aime, confirmed that Pokemon Battle Revolution will be the first game on Wii to feature online play when it is released in North America. Online development kits have apparently been handed out to developers and more titles will be utilizing the function.

This interview confirms thats Pokemon Battle Revolution will be released outside of Japan later this year. It should contain all the features that the Japanese version has. No other information was released, but expect more information closer to the launch of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl in April.

As we reported earlier, the Japanese version of Pokemon Battle Revolution requires 2 friends codes to play online, your Wii consoles Friends code and your DS game cartridges friends code. Hopefully the english version will be able to address this issue to make it easier for users to setup their online matches with friends.
