The Pokémon Card Game was developed by Creatures Co., Ltd. and it has been 24th years since its release. Since then, it has been sold in 13 languages and played in 77 areas of the world. Last year, the Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grandprix was held and many wonderful artists participated allowing Creatures to discover new talent. This year, the contest will be held under the theme of "Cool Pokémon Moments" where artist will have to draw artwork featuring Lizardon, Pikachu, Bangiras, Milokaross, Lucario, Genesect, Yowashi or Zacian in a forest or town setting. Not only the winners but also some of those who applied and had excellent entries may be asked to work as an authorized illustrator for Creatures Inc.

The contest application period is from December 9th, 2019 until March 31st, 2020. A maximum of 3 items can be submitted per person and need to be 1080x680 pixels in JPEG or PNG with a filesize less than 3MB.

Prizes

Grand Prix: 1 person - Prize money 300,000 yen + card of winning work
2nd place illustration excellence award: 100,000 yen per person
3rd place illustration excellence award: 100,000 yen per person
Judge Prize: 5 people will receive prize money totaling 50,000 yen

At this time only residents of Japan may apply to enter the 2nd Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix. We hope you are as excited as we are for the announcement of the Top 8 submissions! Please do not reach out and contact illustrators of the Pokémon Card Game regarding the contest. Although they may be judging this Grand Prix they are not aware of the details surrounding eligibility of entrants. These illustrators are currently busy drawing new beautiful illustrations for you to enjoy.
