Updates

  • GO Battle League ratings have been temporarily removed from the matchmaking screen for Trainers ranks 7 and up to discourage avoiding Battles against Trainers based on their rating. Visible ratings will return once we have a longer-term fix for this issue.
  • The UI for Battle screens in Gyms & Raids and Trainer Battles has been updated to show the number of stored Charged Attacks as white rings that appear around the attack
  • Apple sign-in: Apple ID can be used to sign in to Pokémon GO
  • Trainers will soon be able to opt-in to a new feature called PokéStop Scan and contribute to building 3D maps of PokéStops and Gyms
  • Select Trainers with specific devices will soon have access to the Reality Blending feature in AR Snapshots
  • The Meltan Box can no longer be activated when an Incense is already active

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in which tapping Fast Attacks quickly caused a delay in the next Charged Attack or switch during Battle
  • Fixed an issue that caused a Trainer to softlock the app if their Pokémon fainted during an opponent’s Charged Attack while experiencing severe latency
  • Fixed an issue that caused Fast Attacks against Team Leaders and Team GO Rocket to land more quickly than intended
  • Fixed an issue that caused the completed research notification to pop up twice for the same research task
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Team Medallion to not be purchasable in the Shop
  • Fixed an issue that caused the catch ring color to change slightly when any Berry was used, even if the Berry did not increase the catch rate
  • Fixed some minor layout issues that caused text to overlap with other UI elements in certain languages

Update Details

  • Added a new Egg feature. Note: Check out the separate notice for more information.
  • Added new single-player features. Note: Check out the separate notice for more information.
  • Added a Daily Scout that can be used once a day at no cost. Note: Check out the separate notice for more information.
  • Made a change so that the icons of duplicate sync pairs obtained via sync pair scout can be viewed on the Results screen.
  • Made a change so that battle rewards are displayed on the Area Details screen.
  • Reward Boost Tickets have been added. Reward Boost Tickets can be used in certain areas to increase the amount of completion rewards and battle rewards obtained. Note: Check out the upcoming notice for more information about which areas they can be used in.
  • Made a change so that the Optimize feature can be directly selected from the battle preparation screen of areas with three-player teams.
  • Made a change so that an optimized team based on the area's recommended types can be formed automatically on the battle preparation screen as well as the Edit Team screen.
  • The Level Up Sync Moves option, which increases the damage and effectiveness of sync moves and increases the attack power of moves, has now been renamed to Level Up Moves to better represent the aforementioned features.
  • The Increase Potential section of the Team menu has been changed to Potential & Move Level. This screen can now be used to increase a sync pair’s number of ★s as well as level up their moves.
  • You can level up a sync pair’s moves by going to the Team menu and selecting Potential & Move Level, and then pressing the Level Up Moves button.

    When you acquire a sync pair that you have already teamed up with through methods such as the sync pair scout, their move level can be raised to a maximum of 5.

    Note: Once a move reaches its level 5 max, you’ll receive a ★ power-up with the same number of ★s as the duplicate sync pair instead.

    To coincide with this change, Move Candy, which are items used to level up moves, have been added.
  • Made a change so that the role and weakness type names are displayed when the corresponding icons are tapped on the sync pair details screen.
  • Adjusted Battle Villa co-op battle rewards and applied a restriction to the number of plays available per day.
  • The sync orb chance feature has ended.
  • Made other minor changes for consistency and text fixes.
  • Other minor bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.

New Tactics Feature

You can now change the order that your opponents will target your team members in single-player battles by changing your tactics in the Edit Team menu! By mastering the use of tactics, you can have your more resilient sync pairs targeted first to protect your other sync pairs, opening up a wide range of different strategies.

New Egg Feature!

Eggs

Pokémon hatch from Eggs. Eggs hatch after you have completed a certain number of areas. You can give nicknames to the Pokémon you hatch from Eggs as well as form a sync pair together and take them into battle. Three types of Eggs will appear in this update. There are plans to add various other Pokémon Eggs in the future, so keep an eye out for them!

Affinity

Raising the affinity of Pokémon hatched from Eggs makes them more powerful. Affinity can be raised by giving Berry Tarts.

Important

  • The 1★ Berry Tart and 2★Berry Tart will be obtainable outside of the Exchange Items General category in a future update.
  • A 3★ Berry Tart, which is required to raise the affinity of a Pokémon beyond level 3, will added in a future update.

Passive Skills - Update Coming Soon

Adjustments will be made to the trigger conditions and names of select passive skills in the upcoming Ver. 1.8.0 update. A separate notice regarding the timing of the Ver. 1.8.0 update will be released following the official announcement.

Attempt Co-op Battles Solo!

Co-op battles can now be played on your own! Some co-op battles can now be attempted in single-player! Take this opportunity to give co-op battles a try! Note: Changes will be reflected after updating to Ver. 1.8.0 or higher. The exact time the update becomes available may differ for each player. Please try again later if the update is not applied.

Available Co-op Battles

All co-op battles, excluding EX Challenges and tutorials. Note: Does not include event co-op battles that are currently under way. Single-player will be available starting with the next event.

Attempting Co-op Battles Solo

  • A team is comprised of three sync pairs. Create three individual teams using your own sync pairs to take on the challenge.
  • Of the three teams, you only have control of the team placed in the center position on the Edit Team screen. The remaining two teams will act on auto mode during the battle.
  • Rewards do not change, regardless of whether or not you attempt these battles on your own.
  • The battle speed can only be adjusted when playing in single-player.
  • You cannot assign the same sync pair or Trainer to more than one of your teams at the same time.
  • The single-player battle settings will be used.
  • Only the center sync pair will count toward such things as the progress of missions, the earning of XP, etc.

Important

  • To unlock co-op battles, you must have completed Main Story Interlude 1: Let the Tournament Begin! (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those you can actually obtain.

Pokémon HOME has posted a Maintenance Notice in-app which has announced they will be fixing issues including a bug if people completed the Pokédex before February 14th, 2020 and received the glitched Magearna.

Pokémon HOME - Maintenance Notice - March 6th, 2020

Thank you for using Pokémon HOME. This message is to inform you that system maintenance has been scheduled for the following time period. During maintenance, all features of Pokémon HOME will become unavailable.

Maintenance period: 01:30 to 08:00 UTC, 03/06/2020 (scheduled)

Fixes:
A fix for the issue with the gift presented to players who had completed their National Pokédexes before 11:00 a.m. UTC on Friday, February 14, 2020.

There were issues with the previous gift that was distributed, and so the correct gift will be sent to eligible players' Gift Boxes after maintenance concludes. Those who already received an incorrect gift should also see some changes made to their data to fix the situation.

There was also an issue wherein the system failed to correctly recognize whether a Pokédex was complete or not, and players could not claim their gift despite their Pokédex appearing complete. In a future update, we plan to correct the conditions for completing your Pokédex and make it possible for those players to receive their gift.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to all of our users.
There will be some maintenance on March 3rd and 4th, 2020 to prepare for the latest Software update of Pokémon Rumble Rush and the update for the game will bring it to Version 1.5.0.

  • Updated welcome gifts—you can get Mew and more. We’re adding new welcome gift for weeks 2-4.
  • Added the new Battle Royale feature. We’re adding Battle Royale, a new auto battling tournament for four teams of three Pokémon each. Battle Royale have their own Swap Shops where you can get a range of items.
  • Added the new Socket Plus item. We’re adding the new Socket Plus item, which will increase a Pokémon’s power gear sockets from one to two. You can get Socket Plus in a Battle Royale Swap Shop.
  • Added the new Poké Glam feature. We’ve added new items called Poké Glam to let you decorate your Pokémon. You can get Poké Glam in a Battle Royale Swap Shop.
  • Added player titles. You can get titles from playing Battle Royale.

  • Adjusted Boss Pokémon encounters. We’re adjusting encounters so that the Boss Pokémon is infrequently replaced by a rare Pokémon while you’re playing a stage that is not a daily stage.

  • Adjusting Coin Rush attempts. We’re fixing it so that your remaining number of attempts does not decrease when you return to the balloon during Coin Rush.
  • Changing the Brawny power gear from a stat power gear to a style power gear.
  • Improving the presentation of ore opening.
  • Fixing some bugs.

Fixes:
A fix for the issue where all Pokémon moved from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon HOME before 9:00 a.m. UTC on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, would lose their Hyper Training information.

Hyper Training information will be restored for the affected Pokémon.

For users that have already moved the Pokémon to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, we ask that they return those Pokémon to Pokémon HOME well in advance of the beginning of the maintenance period.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to all of our users.
DeNA has announced that the Version 1.7.0 update will come out today but the exact time the update becomes available may differ for each player. Details of this patch have been added to our Pokémon Masters updates page which will be updated as new patches are released.

Update Details

  • Sync pairs can now use a new feature known as lucky skills.
  • Sync pair level caps have been adjusted.
  • The amount of XP acquired in some areas has been increased.
  • The Area Details screen can now be viewed in all areas that contain battles.
  • Sync pairs that appear, and their types and weaknesses can now be viewed in Area Details.
  • Interrupted play data for an area will now be stored for a maximum of 7 days from the time the area was started.
  • Various bugs, which appeared on rare occasion during specific circumstances, have been fixed.
  • Adjusted parts of the AI's behavior.
  • Other minor bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.

DeNA has announced that version 1.65 of Pokémon Masters is now available and with the update comes a Grass-Type Training Event featuring Erika and Rosa as well as a Brendan and Lyra Spotlight Scout.

Level up your Grass types! Check out the Grass-Type Training Event during the time period below. Collect Voucher Q and exchange them for items to level up the sync moves of 3★ Erika & Vileplume, and 5★ Rosa & Snivy! The sync grids of 3★ Erika & Vileplume and 5★ Rosa & Snivy will also be expanded in conjunction with this event.

Strengthen Grass-type sync pairs with ease during this event since opposing sync pairs will all be weak to Grass-type attacks! Prepare your favorite Grass-type sync pairs, and take them on!

Pokémon GO has been updated to Version 0.131.0 on iOS and Version 0.165.0 on Android. Niantic has posted a detailed release notes for this version with lists of new features, updates and bug fixes.

What’s New in Version 0.165.0 (Android) and 0.131.0 (iOS)

  • In this update, we’re excited to announce more changes focusing on Trainer Battles!
  • Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll see some changes in Pokémon GO’s various combat systems.

Updates

  • Pokémon eligible for trade Evolution can now be searched using the search term “tradeevolve”
  • Attack and Defense stats changes are now cleared after swapping during combat
  • During battle, when two Pokémon use Charged Attacks at the same time, the Pokémon with the higher Attack stat will go first. If two Pokémon have the same Attack stat, a random Pokémon will go first.
  • Removed EX Raid-eligible tag on Gyms with already scheduled EX Raids
  • Updates to Team Go Rocket Leader Shadow Pokémon encounter logic
