Mewtwo will also be available as Paid Add-on DLC's for Super Smash Bros

Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that the free download codes for Mewtwo will be distributed in spring 2015 for players that register both versions of Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Participants who qualify before 22:59 (UK time) on January 20th, 2015 can receive both the soundtrack CD and the free Mewtwo download codes but have until March 31st, 2015 to register both games in order to get just the free Mewtwo codes. Mewtwo will be made available to purchase as add-on content later in 2015 though for those that missed registering or only purchased one version of the game.

Gekkouga Special Distribution for Japan

Japanese players that purchase and register Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire can receive a special Gekkouga (ゲッコウガ). The special distribution was announced in the November 6th, 2014 Japanese Nintendo Direct by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. Players must register both games on Club Nintendo between November 21st, 2014 and January 20th, 2015. The special serial code to receive Gekkouga in ORAS will be distributed from December 9th, 2014 until January 29th, 2015. Gekkouga will have the same moves that it has in Super Smash Bros. and they are: Water Shuriken, Hydro Pump, Shadow Sneak and Substitute.


The offical Japanese Pokémon website updated on November 7th, 2014 to reveal more details. Gekkouga is Male, level 36, has the OT SmaBro (スマブラ) and has the ability Protean (へんげんじざい).

The Super Smash Bros. Wii U Direct that aired on October 23rd, 2014 announced that Mewtwo will be available for both the Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS versions of the game in the Spring of 2015. It will be available via a patch to players that have bought both versions of the game.

Register ORAS or SSB in Europe and Get a Download Code for Pokémon Art Academy

Nintendo of Europe has announced that those that register a copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire or Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS in addition to registering a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS on Club Nintendo will receive a free download code for a game of their choice from a selection of games. One of the free games people can get is Pokémon Art Academy. Full details are listed in the press release.


Expand your collection of top titles with the Nintendo 3DS Winter 2014 Bonus Game Promotion

11th September 2014 – With the winter season on its way, Nintendo has today announced a new promotion for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems, the Nintendo 3DS Winter 2014 Bonus Game Promotion, which is sure to appeal to users looking to expand their game collection in preparation for the colder months!

To take part in the Nintendo 3DS Winter 2014 Bonus Game Promotion, participants simply need to do both of the following:

  • Register a Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system with Club Nintendo between 11th September 2014 and 12th January 2015 (23:59 local time); and…
  • Register a copy of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (releasing 3rd October ), Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire (both releasing 28th November) with Club Nintendo between 3rd October 2014 and 12th January 2015 (23:59 local time), and fill out the software registration survey – a required action if the copy of the game is purchased at retail.

In return, participants can request a free download code to download one of the following games from Nintendo eShop:

  • Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
  • Yoshi's New Island
  • Kirby: Triple Deluxe
  • Mario Golf: World Tour
  • Mario Party: Island Tour
  • Pokémon Art Academy

The free download code can be requested via a user’s Club Nintendo account, with the download code request needing to be completed by 12th February 2015 (23:59 local time). The download code will expire on 12th March 2015 (23:59 local time), and therefore will need to be redeemed by this time. Please note that Club Nintendo members whose age is below the age rating of a game cannot request a download code for that game.

The holiday shopping season began on August 29th, 2014 as the first 12 amiibo interactive figures became available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of $12.99USD each. The first dozen characters that are part of the Super Smash Bros. Collection are available for pre-order at select retailers and they are: Mario, Peach, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Kirby, Fox, Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer. More amiibo figures will be released in the future. Pikachu is number 10 in the collection.

Victini and Xerneas confirmed to be support Pokémon in Super Smash Bros

Victini and Xerneas have been confirmed to be support Pokémon in the upcoming Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo Wii U. Masahiro Sakurai (桜井政博), Director of the games, posted on Miiverse that Victini's Victory Star boosts the attack of whoever throws the Poké Ball and also prevents flinching while Xerneas's Geomancy increases the launch power of all fighters, but exceptionally raises it for whoever had the Poké Ball.
