It has been announced that chapter 1 of the popular anime Pocket Monsters (airs on the TV Tokyo Network every Friday at 6:55pm, officially abbreviated "Anipoke"), "Liko and Roy Set Off", is about to reach its climax. A new trailer depicting upcoming events was also released.

YouTube Clip - Terapagos' Shine Arc Trailer (Japan Region Locked)

Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMJBx_HTuB8

Episode 23, "Galar Fire Blazes Up", which aired on the 22nd, featured not the Black Rayquaza, but a Galar Fire carrying an ancient monster ball, the proof of being one of the Six Heroes that traveled with Lucius! Liko and the others want to close in on this Galar Fire somehow, but it's burning with anger and keeps everyone at arm's length, so they came up with a plan that incorporated Gym Leader Kabu's advice that winning battles isn't the only way to be a Trainer.

The new trailer finally reveals the tale of the Ancient Adventurer Lucius' adventures, as well as the true identity of the mysterious Pokémon the pendant turned into. The story centered around this mysterious Pokémon starts taking some sudden twists and turns as the executives of the Explorers, the organization Amethio belongs to, begin taking personal action.

The next episode, episode 24, "Reunion at the Old Castle", will air October 13th. Liko's pendant has turned into a mysterious Pokémon, as, wanting to learn the truth about this Pokémon, she and the others head for Liko's grandmother Diana's location and finally reunite with her at a hidden old castle. Diana tells them the tale of Lucius' adventures, and of the mysterious Pokémon "Terapagos". Meanwhile, Amethio and his fellow Explorers approach the old castle, having followed Liko and the others there...

Weekly sets of episodes of the Pocket Monsters anime will be available on the official Pokémon Youtube channel from Friday September 29th to Friday October 27th! This allows you to binge the "Liko and Roy Set Off" arc in time for the upcoming "Terapagos' Shine" arc, so make sure to check it out!

It has been decided that Nanase Nishino, who plays the protagonist in the original Pokémon live action serial Pokétsume, will join the Pokémon anime as a guest voice actor in December. She will be playing an Eteboth. Further details will be announced later.

A comment from Nanase Nishino:
I've loved the Pokémon video games ever since I was a child, so I was extremely happy to learn that I would be appearing in the Pocket Monsters anime TV show. I was initially surprised that I had been cast as an Eteboth, since I wasn't expecting that I'd play an actual Pokémon, but I'm considering this a great honor.
I actually found it to be quite difficult since the way I had to approach my lines was so different from when I'm doing live action. It required a strong sense of imagination since I needed to get across my character's thoughts and current situation purely through making noises.
I got the hang of it little by little though, and it made me really happy when the sound director told me I was "getting close to an Eteboth now"! This entire thing was a really good experience for me, and one that really made me fall in love with Eteboth. The episode won't be airing for a while though, but look forward to it!
-Nanase Nishino, the voice of Eteboth

Terapagos' Shine

The popular anime Pocket Monsters (airs on the TV Tokyo Network every Friday at 6:55pm, officially abbreviated "Anipoke") is about to enter its second chapter, which is going to be subtitled "Terapagos' Shine". A new poster depicting the Pokémon Terapagos, which holds the key to the protagonists Liko and Roy's adventure, has been released, as has a new trailer.

In Chapter 2, "Terapagos' Shine", a new adventure begins for Liko and Roy when they meet Terapagos, the mysterious Pokémon that has just transformed from its pendant form.

image

Liko has previously learned about the legend of the "Ancient Adventurer Lucius" from her grandmother Diana, and the trailer released today shows her pledging to grant Terapagos' wish by searching for "Rakua", a place filled with its memories of Lucius.

It has also been revealed that the Black Rayquaza Roy is chasing down was one of the Six Hero Pokémon that went on an adventure with Lucius in the distant past, and that the Explorers, the organization Amethio belongs to, have started their pursuit of the Black Rayquaza as well.

image

But what is the true goal of the Explorers...? The curtain goes up for a new adventure for Liko, Roy and the others centered around Lucius, the Six Heroes, as well as Terapagos.

It has also been revealed that the new opening theme that will adorn the story of Chapter 2 will be "Hello". Outstanding creators yama and Botchi Boromaru, who have recently been getting really popular on the Internet, primarily on social media, have teamed up as the special unit "yama x Botchi Boromaru" in order to vigorously sing this fast-paced song!

The new opening theme "Hello" will debut on October 27th with episode 26, "Terapagos' Adventure", and can also be heard in the trailer that released today.

image

A comment from yama:
When I was little, I was particularly fond of the Pokémon movies, which moved me to tears as I kept watching them over and over. This wasn't because I was a particularly emotional child, but because I found the deep bond between Pokémon and humans, along with the music in these movies, to be so moving. I still play video games even as an adult, and Pokémon ones give me these therapeutic, warm and exciting memories. It's a genuine honor to be allowed to handle the theme song this time.
It will make me really happy if this song wil help ease its listeners' anxieties and insecurities and make them recall how cheerful and exciting their daily life can be, even if just a little. Botchi Boromaru-san and I poured our hearts and souls into this song, so I hope its message will reach as many people as possible.

image

A comment from Botchi Boromaru:
Pokémon has been there with me in some shape or form ever since I was little, not just as video games, but also as a card game, stickers included with sweets, and plushies. I was especially into the anime, taping it every week and watching the episodes over and over, and singing the opening and ending themes at karaoke competitions during grade school. I even used to draw manga starring Pikachu that I'd show to my friends.
But I never even dreamed that I'd one day get to sing a theme song for the Pokémon anime I loved so much! If I tried telling this to my past self that hadn't even started playing the guitar yet, it'd probably sound too ridiculous to believe. This is hands down the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, no exaggeration! yama-san and I took great care in creating this song as we remembered our past selves and thinking about our present selves at the same time. Please enjoy!!!

This “spectral” gift with purchase is a great way to get into the fun on Aeos Island and ring in the spooky season.

Uploaded Image

Read on to learn more about everything Mimikyu has to offer and to pick up a few tips before playing rough with the competition on Aeos Island.

Mimikyu Basics

Ability: Disguise - When Mimikyu is in Disguised Form and takes damage from opposing Pokémon, Mimikyu will have its HP decreased by a set percentage of its remaining HP, nullify damage for a set amount of time, and change to Busted Form. At the same time, a revenge mark is applied to the opposing Pokémon that dealt the damage. Mimikyu’s movement speed increases when approaching revenge-marked opposing Pokémon and it will deal increased damage to them. Mimikyu will return to Disguised Form if it remains in Busted Form for a set amount of time. If Mimikyu knocks out an opposing Pokémon, the time it takes to return to Disguised Form is decreased.

Basic Attack - Mimikyu’s basic attack becomes a boosted attack every third attack, striking twice with an increased area of attack. The next basic attack after using a move becomes a boosted attack.

Lv. 1 & 3 Moves

Astonish - Mimikyu shouts in a startling fashion, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon. Scratch - Mimikyu charges in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. For a short time after Mimikyu charges, if this move is used again, Mimikyu attacks in front of itself, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. At that time, additional damage is dealt based on the percentage of HP that the opposing Pokémon has lost.

Lv. 5 Moves

Play Rough - Mimikyu jumps forward, then moves around opposing Pokémon it hits, dealing damage multiple times and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. After the attack is finished, Mimikyu jumps in the designated direction. Play Rough can be upgraded to increase Mimikyu’s movement speed for a short time after the attack is finished. Shadow Claw - Mimikyu slashes in front of itself with sharp claws, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits, decreasing their movement speed, and restoring Mimikyu’s HP. Whenever Mimikyu hits opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, Shadow Claw’s cooldown is reduced, and the number of times Mimikyu attacks when this move is used next increases (up to a maximum of four times). The movement speed decreases caused by this move can stack. Shadow Claw can be upgraded so that at the end of the attack, additional damage is dealt based on the percentage of HP the opposing Pokémon has lost.

Lv. 7 Moves

Shadow Sneak - Mimikyu extends its shadow, marking an opposing Pokémon it hits as a shadow target for a short time. If the shadow passes through tall grass or a wall, it extends even further. If Mimikyu deals damage to the opposing Pokémon marked as a shadow target, additional damage is dealt based on the percentage of HP the opposing Pokémon has lost. If this move is used again, Mimikyu moves to the opposing Pokémon marked as a shadow target, deals damage to it, and extends the duration of that Pokémon’s shadow mark. If Mimikyu knocks out the Pokémon marked as a shadow target, this move’s cooldown is reset and Mimikyu recovers HP. Shadow Sneak can be upgraded to reduce this move’s cooldown.
Trick Room - Mimikyu creates a bizarre area around itself. If a movement speed decrease is applied to Mimikyu while it is within the area, that effect is converted into a movement speed increase and Mimikyu takes reduced damage from Pokémon outside the area. Also, while in that area, Mimikyu can use this move again to move a set distance forward, as often as desired. Trick Room can be upgraded to reduce this move’s cooldown.

Mimikyu’s Unite Move, Play with Me...

Mimikyu leaps at an opposing Pokémon and traps it inside its rag, dealing damage over time and granting itself a shield. The trapped opposing Pokémon isn’t affected by any Pokémon’s moves except Mimikyu’s. If Mimikyu loses its shield, or if a set amount of time passes, Mimikyu stops attacking and jumps in the designated direction.

Metagame Watch

Strong Against: Inteleon - Ranged Attackers arguably deal the most consistent damage in Pokémon UNITE, but that often comes at the cost of both durability and mobility. Inteleon is known to sneak around and unleash its powerful Liquidation on unsuspecting opponents, but Mimikyu has the right tools to punish that play pattern. Shadow Sneak enables Mimikyu to close the distance between itself and Inteleon in an instant—and then knock it out quickly with Play Rough and Shadow Claw.

Weak Against: Umbreon - Mimikyu’s moves largely require it to be in close range of its target, making it difficult for Mimikyu to take down opponents when they are protected by Defenders. Mimikyu can deal plenty of damage, but Umbreon can usually endure it all before responding with Snarl, Foul Play, or even Mean Look. Each of these moves can quickly stop Mimikyu in its tracks and render it helpless against a coordinated team. As Mimikyu, it’s best to watch out for Pokémon with hindrances before committing to a skirmish.

The Blaze Pokémon, Blaziken, is Now Available in Pokémon UNITE

Show off Blaziken’s flexibility as you switch between two different fighting styles with this Melee All-Rounder.

Burst into battle with the fiery fighting power of Blaziken in Pokémon UNITE! Blaziken begins each match as the tiny Torchic before evolving into Combusken and finally Blaziken. The Blaze Pokémon is well-known as a powerful Fire- and Fighting-type Pokémon that excels in close combat. That reputation is once again proven correct on Aeos Island, where Blaziken joins the fray as a Melee All-Rounder that can switch between two fighting styles—punch and kick—whenever it uses a corresponding Unite move. You can obtain Blaziken for 13,000 Aeos coins or 575 Aeos gems at the Unite Battle Committee shop. Blaziken will only be obtainable with Aeos gems for the first seven days of its release.

Read on to learn more about everything the Blaze Pokémon has to offer before you Blaze Kick your way through the competition on Aeos Island.

Blaziken Basics

Ability: Blaze - When this Pokémon hits an opposing Pokémon with a basic attack or move, that opposing Pokémon will receive a fire fragment. Hitting an opposing Pokémon that has a fire fragment five times with a basic attack or move will deal additional damage and restore the user’s HP. When the Pokémon with this Ability is at half HP or lower, more HP is restored.

Blaziken’s Punch Style and Kick Style - Most Pokémon have Unite Moves that they can only unleash after charging up energy for a long period of time, but Blaziken is different. After reaching Lv. 8, Blaziken can use its Unite Move—either Spinning Flame Fist or Spinning Flame Kick—every few seconds to change its fighting style and current set of moves. When Blaziken uses Spinning Flame Fist, it switches to punch style, which changes its moves to Fire Punch and Focus Blast. Using Spinning Flame Kick will switch Blaziken to kick style, which changes its moves to Blaze Kick and Overheat. Switching from one style to the other will also make the opposite Unite Move available to keep the cycle going.

Lv. 1 & 3 Moves

Aerial Ace - Torchic dashes in the designated direction, slashing in front of itself and dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. When Torchic hits an opposing Pokémon with this move, for a short time, this move can be used again once only.

Ember - Torchic releases a small ball of fire in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and decreasing their movement speed.

Lv. 5 Moves

Fire Punch - Combusken unleashes two flaming punches in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. The designated direction can be changed during the move. When Combusken hits an opposing Pokémon with Fire Punch, for a short time, Fire Punch can be used again once only. Fire Punch can be upgraded to increase the damage dealt to opposing Pokémon.

Focus Blast - Combusken fires a ball of focused energy in the designated direction. The ball of focused energy explodes upon hitting an opposing Pokémon or after traveling a set distance, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the explosion’s area of effect and decreasing their movement speed. Focus Blast can be upgraded to strengthen the movement speed decrease.

Blaze Kick - Combusken unleashes a kick while leaping toward the designated location, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and shoving them. The shoved opposing Pokémon will have their movement speed decreased for a short time. If the shoved opposing Pokémon come in contact with a wall, they will be left unable to act instead of having their movement speed decreased. Blaze Kick can be upgraded to strengthen the movement speed decrease and increase the time opposing Pokémon are left unable to act.

Overheat - Combusken starts charging power in place. If Overheat is used again after Combusken has started charging, Combusken unleashes a flaming kick in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. The longer power is charged, the more damage this move deals. If Combusken charges a set amount of power or more, this move also shoves opposing Pokémon it hits. Overheat can be upgraded to increase the damage dealt to opposing Pokémon.

Blaziken’s Unite Moves:

Spinning Flame Fist - Blaziken unleashes a flaming punch around itself, dealing damage to nearby opposing Pokémon it hits and increasing its movement speed for a short time. After using this move, Blaziken switches to punch style.

Spinning Flame Kick - Blaziken executes a flaming kick around itself, dealing damage to nearby opposing Pokémon it hits and increasing its Attack for a short time. After using this move, Blaziken switches to kick style.

Metagame Watch

Strong Against: Trevenant - Trevenant excels at soaking up attacks from Pokémon that do damage in short bursts but can struggle against Pokémon that do consistent damage. Blaziken’s Blaze Ability triggers additional damage whenever it hits an opposing Pokémon with a fire fragment five times using a basic attack or move, granting a form of consistent damage to complement its powerful combo moves. When Blaziken hits an opposing Pokémon with a fire fragment five times, it also heals itself, making it extra durable. This means that Blaziken is bound to come out on top in longer skirmishes, spelling trouble for low-damage Pokémon like Trevanant.

Weak Against: Mew - Blaziken doesn’t lack movement potential thanks to Blaze Kick, but Mew is an especially tough target for Blaziken to chase. Between Surf and Agility, Mew has plenty of options to dodge opposing Pokémon and fire back while doing it using Electro Ball and Solar Beam. Blaziken can still dish out damage against Mew in the right situations, but it’s an uphill battle if the Blaze Pokémon chooses to engage when both sides have all their moves available.
