REGARDING MY CHARACTER NAVI:
I feel like Navi thinks of the world as this wonderful, magical place. She's brimming with curiosity about all kinds of things and is always really excited! She's also the bold type who will leap head first into anything in order to give at a try, doesn't get bothered by failures, and is tough enough to attempt the same thing over and over!! She's younger than the Rising Volt Tacklers, but hates being treated like a child and somewhat longs for being an adult. And most importantly, she really loves Pokémon... which is precisely why she can't decide which Pokémon to get! She's an extremely cute little girl who also has an emotionally sensitive side like that to her!

HOW I FELT DURING MY AUDITION FOR THE POCKET MONSTERS TV SHOW AS WELL AS WHEN I GOT CAST:
I was auditioning for this massive production absolutely everyone's familiar with, one called "Pokémon", and I wanted to get the role so badly that I could barely sleep at all during the period between the audition and when I learned the result. I would dream about crying tears of joys after getting the role, but I'd also dream about losing the role and then waking up and feeling relieved that it was only a dream, and I would beg to my Metamon plushie every night to have it choose me. When my manager eventually called me into a conference room where all the managers waited with Metamon fans, balloons and plushies and congratulated me, I was so happy I bawled my eyes out. It meant a lot to me that they understood how I felt. However, at that same time it also truly hit me what a big series I was now involved in, so I sobered up and refrained from celebrating too loudly.

「ポケモン」という誰もが知ってる大きな作品のオーディションで、とにかく受かりたい思いがすごく強くて、オーディションを受けてから結果を聞くまでの間なかなか眠れませんでした。受かって嬉し泣きする夢も、落ちて目が覚めてああ夢でよかった…って安心する夢も見て、毎晩メタモンのぬいぐるみに「どうか私を選んでください！！」とお願いしていました。そんな中でマネージャーさんに会議室に呼ばれて行ったら、マネージャーさんみんながメタモンのうちわや風船、ぬいぐるみを持って待っててくれて、「おめでとう」って言われて、もう大号泣でした。想いが通じて本当に嬉しかったです。でも同時にこれから関わっていく作品の大きさも実感して、浮かれていられないなと身が引き締まる思いでした。

Hello, everyone. This is Yuu Serizawa. This time I'm going to be playing Navi, a character appearing in the Pocket Monsters Wonder Voyage TV show. Thank you so much. I'm so happy.

How did you feel when you got cast?
After the audition, I wanted to get the role really badly; I was super anxious all the time and I would pray to the Metamon plushie I had bought every night... so when I got cast, the managers at my agency surprised me by throwing this "party" of sorts to announce that I got the role, and I just exploded with emotion, bawling my eyes while feeling so grateful to so many people... Especially to Metamon for choosing me, and to Navi. But you know, while I felt happy to be a part of the Pokémon series, which so many people have loved for 30 years now, I also felt a sense of mental readiness, or rather, I felt the magnitude of the series that I would now help shoulder responsibility for.

What were your initial impressions of Navi, and of Metamon, the Pokémon she meets?
My impression of Navi is that she's a bubbly and cheerful girl who's living a carefree and uninhibited life, just brimming with curiosity about all kinds of things and buzzing with excitement while constantly looking around her. However, she also has that kind of adorable childlike aspect to her where she somewhat longs for being an adult, so she wants to try drinking coffee and will make this mature-ish expression while insisting she's not a child if she's treated like one... which is exactly what makes her such a super cute little girl with a slight desire for being an adult. As for Metamon... First things first, it just has the cutest expression. Its expression is so cute, and you know, it has the ability to Transform, so when this cute purple Metamon turns into a different Pokémon, it becomes cute in an entirely different kind of way because its face stays the same, and that's just so incredibly cute. So now I'm really looking forward to every new episode of the Pokémon anime to see what kinds of Pokémon it will Transform into next, you know?

Finally, do you have something you'd like to say to the viewers?
The anime is picking up more and more as well due to Pokémon's 30th anniversary, and now Navi-chan is going to be part of it as well, so I want to do my absolute best to make it even more enjoyable for all of you who have loved Pokémon until now. Further cast members have just been announced for the popular Pocket Monsters TV show (airs every Friday at 6:55 on the TV Tokyo Network, officially abbreviated "Anipoke"). The new character Navi will be handled by Yuu Serizawa, and she will make her debut in episode 142, airing next week on July 3rd, 2026.

Navi works as Matiere's detective assistant in Miare City, and anticipation is building as we're about to learn what kind of role she'll play now that she encounters the Rising Volt Tacklers, Metamon and the other Pokémon.

Serizawa admitted that "After the audition, I wanted to get the role as Navi so badly that I would beg to my Metamon plushie every night to have it choose me. Shirou, a character from Pokémon Legends Z-A, will also appear in episode 142. His voice actor Kazuki Ura smiled as he told us "Strength is power! Strength is justice! 『ポケモン』新キャラのナヴィ役は芹澤優!選考に受かり「大号泣」 シロー役は浦和希

人気テレビアニメ『ポケットモンスター』（公式略称：アニポケ　テレビ東京系 毎週金曜 後6：55～）の追加キャストが発表された。新キャラクター・ナヴィ役は芹澤優が担当し、来週7月3日放送の第142話より登場する。

ミアレシティでマチエールの探偵助手をしているナヴィ。ライジングボルテッカーズのみんなや、メタモンたちポケモンと出会うことで、どんな活躍を見せるのか期待が高まる。

芹沢は「ナヴィ役に受かりたい思いが強く、毎晩メタモンのぬいぐるみに『どうか私を選んでください！』とお願いしていました。そんな中マネージャーさんから『おめでとう』と言われ、大号泣。同時に関わっていく作品の大きさも実感して、浮かれていられないなと身が引き締まる思いでした」と告白。

「ナヴィは物怖じしないタイプで、まず『やってみよう！』と飛び込み、失敗してもへっちゃら！何度もチャレンジできるタフさもあります！ライジングボルテッカーズの仲間より歳下だけど、お子ちゃま扱いされるのは嫌で、ちょっと大人に憧れてます。そして何よりポケモンが大好き。皆さんが初めてポケモンをゲットした時のトキメキや、ポケモンと心を通わせて何かを乗り越えた時。あの頃の自分を重ねて『懐かしいな…』と感じてもらえるよう、全身全霊でナヴィと一緒にポケモンと向き合っていきます！」と意気込んでいる。

また、第142話では、『Pokemon LEGENDS Z-A』にも登場しているシローも登場。シロー役の浦和希は「力こそパワー！力こそジャスティス！この度シローの声を務めさせていただく事になりました、浦和希です！幼い頃から大好きだったあのポケモンの世界に参加する事が叶うとは！感無量、胸が震えております！！『Pokemon LEGENDS Z-A』をプレイしている方はご存知かと思いますが、シローと言えば筋肉！！熱量！！！そしてそこに隠れた理知的なところ。それが余す事なく感じられる展開になっていると思います！ぜひ楽しみにしていてください！ジャスティス！！」と喜んでいる。　新章『ワンダーボヤージュ』は、やりたいことを見失っていたリコたちが自分の進むべき道を再発見する姿や、ライジングボルテッカーズの次なる旅立ちを描く物語。
