Episode PictureThe latest episode of Pokémon Sunday, Groudon VS Kyogre! (Part 1) / To commemorate the upcoming film, the guest voice actors visit the PokéSun Company! / The Amazing 'Creation Pokémon' Arceus Cutscene (「グラードンVSカイオーガ!(前編)」 「映画公開を記念して、豪華なゲスト声優陣がポケサンカンパニーにやって来た!」 「“そうぞうポケモン”アルセウスのすごい映像」), aired on Sunday in Japan.

In today's episode of Pokemon Sunday, Koichi Yamadera (山寺宏一) who plays Gishin (ギシン) in the newly released 12th Pocket Monsters movie visited the Pokemon Sunday cast. Kii Kitano (北乃きい) who plays Sheena (シーナ) and Masahiro Takashima (髙嶋政宏) who plays Damos (ダモス) were also on the show promoting the new movie. The cast and guests shared their experiences about recording the voices for the movie.

Two Melee! Pokemon Scramble codes were announced today that unlock a Vaporeon and a Giratina. Visit the "Unknown Recruiting" area, (the red building), and enter the code to unlock the Pokemon.

The Pokémon Video Game and TCG World Championships are fast approaching! From August 13th through 15th, some of the best Pokémon players from around the world will meet in San Diego, California, for intense Pokémon competition. And you can keep up with all the Worlds events at the official Pokémon World Championships website.

Hundreds of TCG and Pokémon Platinum Version players will duke it out for pride, glory, and excellent prizes! With over $100,000 in scholarships on the line, you can be sure the action will be as intense as it is fun!
Pokémon events will be going on all weekend, including appearances by Pokémon VIPs and exciting side tournaments. The Pokémon World Championships are open to the public, so if you’ll be in San Diego, be sure to come see the spectacle.



One of the most exciting things about the Pokémon TCG World Championships is that the event is host to spectacular Pokémon celebrities. President & Chief Executive Officer of The Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara (left), Video Game Director of GAME FREAK inc., Junichi Masuda (center) and Video Game Designer, GAME FREAK inc., Takeshi Kawachimaru (right) will all be in attendance.

Scans from the latest issue of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro have be posted on 2ch. Lots of new information has been revealed about the upcoming games Heart Gold & Soul Silver which are due to be released in Japan on September 12th. It also announced that the new Mystery Dungeon games for the Wii will be released on August 4th, 2009. Each game will cost 1,200 Wii points.

New Information

  • Pokéthlon (ポケスロン) minigames have been added and can be played by using the touch screen. Pokémon are rated based on Speed, Stamina, Power & Jump.

  • Dash Battle (ダッシュバトル), Bound Field (バウンドフィールド), Ring Out Fight (リングアウトファイト) & Shooting Snow (シューティングスノー) are the currently known Pokéthlon minigames.

  • Dash Battle (ダッシュバトル): Dash Battle is a hurdle running event where three Pokémon race against each other. Tapping the screen allows the Pokémon to jump over the hurdle.

  • Bound Field (バウンドフィールド): Bound Field is a trampoline jumping competition where Pokémon attempt to hit as many targets as they can.

  • Ring Out Fight (リングアウトファイト): Ring Out Fight is a battle arena game where Pokémon fight against each other to knock the opponent out.

  • Shooting Snow (シューティングスノー): Pokémon use snowballs as ammunition.

  • The legendary Pokémon Entei, Raikou and Suicune will be available and will be level 40.

  • The PokéGear returns with Phone, Map, Radio and Itemfinder applications.

  • The Kimono Girls: Sakura (サクラ), Koume (コウメ ), Tamao (タマオ), Sumomo (スモモ), and Satsuki (サツキ) return and will play a key role in the overall story.
  • The Mystery Dungeon games for the Wii will be in 3D.

  • Jagged-eared Pichu knows: Volt Tackle (ボルテッカー), Helping Hand (てだすけ), Swagger (いばる) and Pain Split (いたみわけ).

picThe latest episode of Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl 135 - Everyone Joins the Battle! Pokémon Hustle! (全員参戦!ポケモンハッスル!), aired on Thursday in Japan.

Having arrived at Suiren Town, Satoshi and his friends watch Pokémon Hustle, a television program where trainers and their Pokémon compete in various tasks. Rocket Gang sets up a fake Pokémon Hustle event and Satoshi and his friends enter the competition. Will Rocket Gang manage to capture the brat boys Pokémon with their Pokémon Hustle scheme?

In today's episode of Pokemon Sunday, the members of Robert all took turns to present their case to Director Kunihiko Yuyama for a voice acting role in the upcoming 12th Pocket Monsters movie. Akiyama won the part as Soldier B while Baba won the part of Soldier D. Yamamoto will also play a villager.

Information about Pocket Monsters Heart Gold and Soul Silver was also announced on the show. The Red Gyarados will continue to reside at the Lake of Rage and it is Level 30. Pokéthlon (ポケスロン) minigames were also shown and can be played by using the touch screen. The two announced games are: Dash Battle (ダッシュバトル) and Bound Field (バウンドフィールド). Dash Battle is a hurdle running event while Bound Field is jumping game.

Shōko Nakagawa also performed Kokoro no Anntena (心のアンテナ) which is the ending theme of the 12th Movie. All the cast members from Pokemon Sunday were also on stage dancing as she sang. The lyrics to the song have been added to the song database. There you can view lyrics for all the Pokemon songs.

Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior receives Guinness World Records Certificate

As we announced last year, Toho, the company that distributes the Theatrical Version of Pocket Monster applied to the Guinness World Records for "The movie series with the most number of advance ticket sales in the world".

The last two Pocket Monsters movies have had at least 2 million pre-order ticket sales, mainly due to the fact that viewers get the ability to download a special Pokemon as part of the pre-order ticket sale.

Earlier this week, Guinness awarded the franchise a certificate for "The greatest advance sales for an animated film is 2,384,198 tickets sold for Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior (Japan 2008) at various locations across Japan until 18 July 2008. Koichi Yamadera and Shoko Nakagawa were on hand to receive the award.
