The Pokémon Company International today announced the dates and locations for the Pokémon North America International Championships which will take place between July 6th and 8th, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio while the Pokémon World Championships will be held August 24th to 26th, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee.

DATES AND LOCATIONS REVEALED FOR 2018 POKÉMON NORTH AMERICA INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 2018 POKÉMON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Pokémon Company International today announced the dates and locations for two major competitive Pokémon tournaments in 2018. The Pokémon North America International Championships will take place July 6–8 in Columbus, Ohio. This year’s Pokémon World Championships will be held August 24–26 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Greater Columbus Convention Center will once again be home to the Pokémon North America International Championships in July. A global event with no residency restrictions, this tournament provides Pokémon TCG and video game players with a final opportunity to earn valuable Championship Points and secure an invitation to the 2018 Pokémon World Championships.

The very best Pokémon players from around the globe will then gather at the Music City Center in Nashville from August 24–26 to compete in the 2018 Pokémon World Championships. The pinnacle of the year of competitive Pokémon play, the Pokémon World Championships are a celebration of all things Pokémon and the dedication of the competitors who have worked hard to make it to the Championships. To qualify, Pokémon TCG and video game Trainers must battle at Championship Series events throughout the season and receive enough Championship Points to earn an invitation. Winners will receive the title of World Champion and a share of the $500,000 prize pool.

Pokémon Store Itami Airport - Osaka International Airport

A new Pokémon Store will open on April 18th, 2018 at the Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport), ITM for short. The concept of the Pokémon Store is to be a "Pokémon Casual Shop", basically a quick kiosk store, where people can purchase some of the official Pokémon merchandise available at the Pokémon Centers.

Niantic has announced that more Pokémon originally from the Hoenn Region have been added to Pokémon GO and players can now get Salamence, Altaria, Metagross, Rayquaza and more!

Discover Rayquaza and More Pokémon Originally from the Hoenn Region!

Trainers, Prepare for exciting new adventures as you encounter even more Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region on February 9! Alongside several Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon appearing in Pokémon GO for the first time, the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will descend from the ozone layer and become available in Raid Battles for a limited time.

In celebration, Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region will take over wild encounters until February 13. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to catch powerful Pokémon such as Salamence, Altaria, Metagross, and more!

The Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will be appearing in Raid Battles in Gyms near you until March 16. You’ll also have a chance to battle the Legendary Water-type Pokémon Kyogre before it swims away on February 14. Will you be the first to catch all three ancient Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region?

Even more surprises await nearby! In addition to these Pokémon being available in the wild, you might see some different Pokémon in Raid Battles at your nearby Gym, and from hatched Eggs.

With all of these Pokémon to catch and power up, it’s important to stock up on supplies. Starting February 9, new special boxes–which include Raid Passes, Incubators, and Star Pieces–will be available in the in-game store until February 23. In addition, Lure Modules will remain activated for six hours until February 23! These items will be perfect aids in your Pokémon GO adventure.

Nintendo has announced that the Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Version 1.2 patch is now available to download and it fixes a glitch with the Curse, Forest’s Curse, Power Trick and String Shot moves that could cause the game to freeze during Live Competitions. The patch is required for all online functions and uses 539 Blocks.

Play! Pokémon Video Game Rules Update

The recent move bans have been lifted from Play! Pokémon video game tournaments.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon have been updated to version 1.2. The moves Curse, Forest's Curse, Power Trick, and String Shot are no longer banned from Play! Pokémon video game tournaments. The new update is required to play in tournaments. To update your game, visit the Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon entry on Nintendo eShop and then download the latest patch.

The 4th Global Mission for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon called Harvest Poké Beans takes place from February 6th, 2018 until February 19th, 2018 and all Trainers must collectively harvest 30,000,000 Poké Beans to get the 2,000 Festival Coins reward.

The Next Global Mission Is Full of Beans!

Head to Poké Pelago in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon and gather as many Poké Beans as possible for the “Harvest Poké Beans!” global mission, now in progress. The goal is for all Trainers to collectively harvest 30,000,000 Poké Beans by 23:59 UTC on February 19, 2018. If the goal is reached, every participant will receive 2,000 Festival Coins as a reward. Even if the goal isn’t reached, everyone will get a participation prize of 1,000 Festival Coins. Trainers who have registered their game at the Pokémon Global Link by the end of the global mission will receive double the number of Festival Coins—4,000 when the goal is reached, and 2,000 even if it isn’t. Be sure to sign up today.
