Pokémon Champions Patches

Patches were released from Pokémon Champions to update the game. Players needed their console to be connected to the Internet to download and install these updates.
Follow these steps to update Pokémon Champions, or review the software's update history.

Note:

  • This update must be applied in order to use the game’s Internet features.
  • Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
  • The update will download and install automatically if the console is connected to the Internet and the Software Auto-Updates setting is enabled on your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. Complete these steps:

  1. Connect your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console to the internet.
    • How to connect Nintendo Switch 2 to a wireless home network
      1. Place the Nintendo Switch 2 console within 10 feet of the wireless router so there will be a strong wireless signal.
      2. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
      3. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings. Your console will automatically search for nearby wireless network signals.
      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
      5. Use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password, if one is required.
      6. The connection will be tested. Once the test is complete, select OK.
        • If the connection test fails, an error code and message will appear. Search for our support article on the error code for steps to troubleshoot the connection.
    • How to connect Nintendo Switch to a wireless home network
      1. Place the Nintendo Switch console within 10 feet of the wireless router to ensure a strong wireless signal.
      2. Select Settings from the HOME Menu on the Nintendo Switch console.
      3. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings . The Nintendo Switch will automatically search for near-by Wi-Fi signals.
      4. Select the appropriate network name (SSID) from the list.
      5. If prompted, use the onscreen keyboard to enter the network's wireless password.
      6. The Nintendo Switch will test the Internet connection. Once the test is complete, select OK to complete the process.
  • From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
  • Press the + Button or – Button on your controller. The current version number will display under the software title.
  • Select Software Update followed by Over the Internet.
  • Ver. 1.0.3 (Released April 22, 2026)

    The following issues have been fixed:

    • The explanation for Leech Seed is incorrect.
    • The gender listed for certain Pokémon in the tutorial is listed incorrectly.
    • The player is unable to select a move when they move the cursor over Mega Evolution while viewing move details and then press the B Button.
    • The Unnerve ability doesn’t work on Pokémon with certain abilities, and they are able to eat Berries.
    • The changes in speed caused by held items are not reflected in the order in which abilities activate.
    • Certain other issues related to networking and visual appearance during battles.
