The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced a Pocket Monsters X Y Battle Festival in Jump Festa (ポケットモンスター Ｘ・Ｙ』バトル祭 in ジャンプフェスタ) will be taking place at Jump Festa at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall on December 21st, 2013 and December 22nd, 2013. Players that wish to participate need to register for this event. Those that participate in the tournament and get a three-game winning streak will get a special gift. There will also be a special corner for people that don't have Pocket Monsters X or Y to experience the games.
Also being held will be a Pokémon Cosplay Battle where participants are asked to dress up as the Boy Hero (主人公の男の子), the Girl Hero (主人公の女の子), Professor Platane (プラターヌ博士) or Corni (コルニ).
Those that win three straight battles and who win the cosplay battle will be entered into a lottery to battle one of the three special guests that will also be attending. Voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto (岡本信彦), Model Ayana Tsubaki (椿姫彩奈) and Hiroshi Yamamoto from Robert will all be in attendance.
The Weakness Policy (じゃくてんほけん) item will be distributed to players. It is an item that can be held by a Pokémon to sharply increase the Attack and Special Attack if the holder is hit with a move it's weak to. The O-Powers Experience Power Max (けいけんちパワー MAX) and Bargain Power MAX (やすうりパワー MAX) will also be distributed.
