Niantic has announced that players of Pokémon GO will soon be able to pair the Pokémon GO Plus + to automatically throw Poké Balls at wild Pokémon, and automatically spin PokéStops to get items. A Special Research that allows you to encounter Snorlax wearing a nightcap will also be available.

Coming Soon: Pair with Pokémon GO Plus +!

Trainers,
You’ll soon be able to pair Pokémon GO with the Pokémon GO Plus + device slated to hit shelves in July!

Using Pokémon GO Plus + will let you play Pokémon GO without needing to keep your eyes on your phone. You’ll be able to automatically throw Poké Balls at wild Pokémon, and automatically spin PokéStops to get items. You’ll also be able to switch to throwing Great Balls or Ultra Balls with the press of a button.

When you pair Pokémon GO Plus + with your Pokémon GO game, you’ll be able to take on Special Research that allows you to encounter Snorlax wearing a nightcap! This Snorlax looks like it’ll snooze even more soundly than its regular counterparts—why not check it out for yourself?

You can also easily use Pokémon GO Plus + to track your sleep. Just press the center button and place it by your pillow.

Features that use your sleep data are planned to be added to Pokémon GO in the future. We hope you’ll pair with Pokémon GO Plus + and enjoy these features once they’re ready!

Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet can now link up their game with Pokémon GO. Full details are explained below.

Pokémon GO can now connect to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet! Catch Roaming Form Gimmighoul and evolve it into Gholdengo!

Pokémon Trainers around the world!

Pokémon GO can now connect to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet!

The Nintendo Switch games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet can now connect to Pokémon GO! Send Postcards from Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet for opportunities to encounter Roaming Form Gimmighoul and collect Gimmighoul Coins in Pokémon GO. Sending Postcards will also affect your Paldean adventure—in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the patterns of Vivillon that live in the Paldea region will change based on the location listed on the Postcard.

You can use the Coin Bag to catch Roaming Form Gimmighoul!

By sending a Postcard to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, you will be able to use the Coin Bag in Pokémon GO. When you use the Coin Bag, Roaming Form Gimmighoul will appear near you for a certain period of time!

It seems that Gimmighoul love and are lured in by the bag’s treasure chest–like appearance and the sound of coins jingling within. Professor Willow noticed that Roaming Form Gimmighoul wanders around more to return to treasure chests than to collect coins, so he developed the Coin Bag and entrusted it to you.

You can use it once per day by sending a Postcard. We hope you enjoy this connection with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet every day!
*You will be able to send Postcards by pairing Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet with Pokémon GO.
*You can send a Postcard only once per day. Your ability to send a Postcard resets at midnight.
*The first time you send a Postcard, you will receive the Coin Bag and be able to use it.
*Once you send a Postcard, you will be able to use the Coin Bag again.
*The Postcards you send will remain in your Postcard Book, but each Postcard can only be sent once.

Collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins to evolve Roaming Form Gimmighoul into Gholdengo!

Give 999 Gimmighoul Coins to Roaming Form Gimmighoul to evolve it into Gholdengo! You can get Gimmighoul Coins by catching Roaming Form Gimmighoul or by adventuring with it as your buddy. You can also get them from Golden PokéStops!

Use a Golden Lure Module for a chance to collect Gimmighoul Coins!

You can obtain Golden Lure Modules by sending multiple Postcards to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.*

Golden Lure Modules turn PokéStops into Golden PokéStops. You can give them a spin for the chance to collect Gimmighoul Coins! In addition, it seems that you can get more items from Golden PokéStops than from regular PokéStops, and extremely fortunate Trainers may even encounter Roaming Form Gimmighoul! Explore the world around you to collect Gimmighoul Coins and evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo!

*If you already have a Golden Lure Module, you will receive Gimmighoul Coins instead.

For a limited time, PokéStops may turn gold without a Golden Lure Module!

For the next 24 hours, PokéStops may spontaneously turn gold to celebrate the connection to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

Roaming Form Gimmighoul won’t appear at Golden PokéStops if a Golden Lure Module wasn’t used, but treasure-hunting Trainers may still find Gimmighoul Coins when they spin the PokéStop!

*PokéStops may spontaneously turn gold during future events.

Avatar items and stickers

New avatar items featuring Roaming Form Gimmighoul will be available in the in-game shop.

image

New stickers featuring Roaming Form Gimmighoul will be available from PokéStops and Gifts, as well as in the in-game shop.

Campaigns to commemorate a new feature!

We’ll hold various campaigns to celebrate the ability to connect Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet! One box containing 9 Gimmighoul Coins will be available at no cost to all Trainers in the in-game shop for a limited time.

A retweet campaign will be held to give Trainers a chance to win avatar items and stickers featuring Roaming Form Gimmighoul.
