The first clip featured the introduction of TIM and Robert in the 3rd episode of Pokémon Sunday which aired on October 17th, 2004. At the time, Pokémon Sunday was only a half an hour show and it would alternate weeks where it would be a live action episode featuring Pokémon Research or it would showcase a rerun of the anime. Golgo introduces himself and is greeted by Becky but as he walks up to the desk he trips and falls. He then regroups and sits at his desk.

The obstacle race required them to get a monster ball out of water, eat a wasabi roll and then get a hard foot massage.

In Smash #130 which aired on April 8th, 2007, did a segment where he familiarized himself with the 4th Generation of Pokémon by completely immersing himself in Pokémon Life. Four years later, Akiyama once again had to familiarize himself with the 5th Generation of Pokémon in Pokémon Smash #18. He was given tests to see how well he had learned the Pokémon. Pokémon Smash #67 also featured Misaki having to immerse herself in Pokémon training as a member of the Smash Elite Four.

A running gag throughout the series has been to feed Yamamoto Squid Ink. He really dislikes it as it gets his mouth all black. Short clips of the various times throughout the series was shown.

Returning back to Professor Red, his second invention the RED 002 was prominently used in Pokémon Sunday #4 and Akiyama famously used the device to smell poo in a bucket. Then the RED 006 "The Achooinger" (ハクショリンガー) was shown from Pokémon Sunday #12. First Baba used the device to make him sneeze and then Akiyama did as well but ended up coughing/choking twice. Then the RED 052 Face-to-face LEGEND (顔合わせレジェンド) from Pokémon Sunday #261 was shown. The device mixed and matched the faces of the Pokémon Sunday crew to make funny looking new faces.

After the commercial break, Robert introduced a VTR called Experience the changing world of the games (ゲームの世界を体験変). In Pokémon Sunday #152, Yamamoto and Akiyama dressed up as Hikozaru and Pochama from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness games and reenacted scenes from the games. Then to promote the launch of Super Pokémon Scramble (スーパーポケモンスクランブル) on August 11th, 2011, Robert in Pokémon Smash #43 went out on a Adventure Division Battle Royale as Toy Pokémon. Later on in 2011 in Pokémon Smash #58, to promote the new game PokéPark 2 Beyond the World (ポケパーク2 ビヨンド・ザ・ワールド), Misaki dressed up as Pikachu while Baba dressed up as Tsutarja, Akiyama dressed up as Pokabu and Yamamoto dressed up as Mijumaru. They went around and did various activities to show what it would be like to play the game.

Card battles also played a large part of the series. Various clips were quickly shown to give viewers an idea of some of the things they did for card attacks when they played them out in real life. The clip featuring Misaki going through 5 V doors to emulate the TCG attack V-Generate was from Pokémon Smash #36.+

The next VTR segment was called the Popular Character Volume (人気キャラクター編). Director Lucario, Marketing Division Mijumaru, Director Zoroark, Yamirami, Leader Kimori and Hikozaru all played different roles throughout both series. Various clips of these characters were shown. Whenever Robert needed a bad guy for their skits, Reoccurring Regular Guest Big Man (番組準レギュラー 大きな男) was always there to beat them down or toss them around. Handsome Yamamoto also made a number of appearances. Akiyama Victini also became a popular reoccuring character during the Smash era. Victini Yamamoto showed up in Smash #66, but quickly changed the "V" on its head upside down to make a "へ (he)", thus transforming into へ Yamamoto.

Pokémon Smash 118 saw the apperance of the Mysterious Youth 'Y', a joke on the character N, as Yamamoto played the part in the episode. The Eievui Akiyama Friends (イーブイ秋山フレンズ) segment became popular in the summer of 2013 on Pokémon Smash to promote the Movie 16 short Pikachu and its Eievui Friends (ピカチュウとイーブイフレンズ). Akiyama dressed up as all the Eievui evolutions and did various skits from the Eievui house. Shoko-tan later joined in some of the skits as Nymphia. Yadon Akiyama was also a popular character in Pokémon Sunday but it made a special return in Pokémon Smash #53 at the Tokyo Pokémon Center to visit Marina Yamazaki (山崎真梨奈) who is a big fan of Yadon Akiyama.

Faceman then made a in-studio appearance and after the commercial break another segment was introduced as the Shock Scene Volume (衝撃シーン編). First, the scene from Pokémon Sunday #289 where Professor Akido takes Baba and Yamamoto curling is shown. Akido was trying to see how well they can take on the form of curling stones and a relatively successful match was held using humans in place of stones. Then a clip of Yamamoto being squished by Heat Stamp (ヒートスタンプ) was shown which was from Pokémon Smash #128.

Another running gag on the show was Shoko-tan's cooking. She always like to experiment with her cooking by adding exotic ingredients and then get one of the cast members to try it out. Eventually they caught on to her bad cooking and refused to try her food. In the beginning though, her cookies made Yamamoto faint, her Giza Giza Gelatin (ギザギザゼリー) made of Red Peppers (唐辛子), mustard (カラシ) and wasabi (ワサビ) was inflicted upon Golgo and her Giza Giza Dessert Pot with Miso flavoring (ギザギザデザート鍋 みそ味) was not enjoyed by Akiyama.

Yamamoto dressed up as Infi from movie 11. Baba dressed up as Katsumi's Dodaitose and had to use the move Bullet Seed (タネマシンガン). To emulate the attack, Baba put a lot of almonds in his mouth and spit them out when Yamamoto called for the attack. It took them a few times to do the scene as Baba had a hard spitting them out.

Another running gag on the show was Akiyama drawing Yamamoto's mother. He always drew horrible pictures which made it impossible for anyone to actually figure out what he was drawing. Akiyama always had to point out that it was a picture of Yamamoto's mother. In Pokémon Smash #68, Yamamoto's mother came on the show.

After the commercial break, the Final Big Event segment was shown. Pokémon The Park 2005 was the feature of Pokémon Sunday #30 as TIM went to visit it and try out all the rides. Pokémon Quiz Master was a two part event that aired in September of 2005 during Pokémon Sunday #49 and #50. Two years later in September of 2007, the Pokémon Quiz Revolution also aired as a two part event during Pokémon Sunday #154 and #155. Shoko-tan then went to the 'Locarno Film Festival' in Pokémon Sunday #254 to promote the 12th Pocket Monsters movie and to sing her ending theme from the movie Antenna of the Heart (心のアンテナ).

For the 11th Pocket Monsters movie, Red Yoshida got to voice the character Moose (ムース) and a clip of him doing the recording was shown. Robert had voice acting roles in the previous movie while Shoko-tan had voiced multiple characters. Golgo also got to voice Jibacoil in the 11th movie. The 'Pokémon Cosplay Photo' Grand Prix too place in Pokémon Smash #301 while Pokémon Smash #100 was dedicated to the Pokémon Movie 15th Anniversary Event 'Pikachu the Live 2012'. This concluded the recap of clips from the series.

Golgo concluded the episode by telling viewers that the winning Pokémon used in the Final PokéSma Champion Position Match in Smash #155 would be distributed at Pokémon Centers.

This was the final episode of Pokémon Sunday and to remember the show over the years, clips from previous episodes were shown as the cast watched and reminisced about their experiences. Episode PictureThe latest episode of Pokémon Sunday, Sonansu! Is That So? / 'Pokémon BW' Anime Pre-premiere SP, with the First Presentation of New Treasured Pokémon Clips! / Cornering the Extravagant Voice Actor Lineup at the Dubbing Studio / Director Yuyama Visits the Studio! (ソーナンス! そうなんす? / アニメ「ポケモンBW」放送直前SP、新ポケモン秘蔵VTRを初公開! / 豪華声優陣アフレコ現場に突入 / 湯山監督がスタジオに登場!), aired today in Japan.

This weeks rerun theme was a continuation of last weeks theme titled PokéSun Members Big Success (ポケスンメンバー大活躍!). Sonansu! Is That So? was this weeks repeat episode which features Sonansu. Pikachu is captured in an unbreakable container and Sonansu takes off with the key. Can Satoshi and his friends find Sonansu and the key before its too late?!

With the new anime series Pocket Monsters Best Wishes! (ポケットモンスター ベストウイッシュ) starting later in the week, the episode was dedicated to it. The show started off with a preview clip from the upcoming episodes and Robert cosplayed the main characters from the show. Akiyama dressed up as Satoshi, Baba dressed up as Dent and Yamamoto dressed up as Iris.

Robert went off to Shogakukan Productions (小学館集英社プロダクション), also known as ShoPro. They are the company that distributes the Pocket Monsters anime. They enter the building and come to a door labeled 'Busy' (使用中) but are able to peer through the glass to see a guy sitting at a table with a Tsutarja hat on and another guy with a Mijumaru hat on. Robert figures that they must be the people responsible for working on the new show Best Wishes. It is then revealed that they are: Ryou Sasaki (佐々木亮) and Takemoto Mori (盛武源) the producers of the series and Noriko Sugiyama (杉山典子) who is an animator. Robert walks in and greets them by saying 'PokéMorning!' but the group quickly hides all their work.

Robert asked a few questions about the new series. The Shogakukan staff members responded by telling them that Satoshi will start a new journey in the Isshu region. They then went on to explain the double pun behind Best Wishes. BW stands for Black and White but when the name of the series Best Wishes is written out in romanized form 'besuto uisshu' (ベストウイッシュ), 'Isshu' the name of the region is in the title.

The staff then decided to play a little game with Robert. They put 6 'BW' buns on the table for them to eat. Baba was the first to eat one but ended up getting a Bun made with Wasabi. Obviously he didn't like the taste. Yamamoto went next and he chose the right one and the staff gave them a video clip to watch showing some of the new 5th generation Pokémon in the anime.

Robert then head off to Nakano Broadway, a shopping mall where they spot Rica Matsumoto (松本梨香). She spots Robert dressed up as the characters and quickly attempts to get away. The narrator introduces her as Satoshi's voice actor and a brief clip of the opening theme Best Wishes (ベストウイッシュ) is showcase.

Rica agrees to play a game of Pokémon Strikeout with Akiyama and if he wins, she will give him another video featuring clips from the Best Wishes anime. The game features 9 boxes in a baseball strike zone. Akiyama goes first and states he is aiming for Kibago (キバゴ) but hits Mamepato (マメパト) instead. Rica goes next and states "Pokabu, I choose you!" (ポカブ君の決めた!) but she ends up hitting Koromori (コロモリ). Akiyama second pitch was wild and Rica managed to hit Tsutarja on her second pitch but it wasn't enough to knock the target down to 'catch' it.

Yadon-Akiyama returns for another adventure and this time his is bungie jumping off a platform from 22 metres in the air. The staff member does a 3,2,1 Bungie countdown but Yadon-Akiyama just stands there. It just replies "Ya..." with a nervous laugh. New Pokémon Black and White merchandise was then shown which will be available at the Pokémon Centers.

After the commercial break, Akiyama was pitching again and managed to hit Mijumaru down giving him a 2 captured Pokémon to 1 lead over Rica. Rica then announces she's going after Pokabu again this time but throws a wild pitch giving Akiyama the win. Rica give Robert a video clip which shows more clips from the Best Wishes anime. The Best Wishes voice actors also introduced themselves to the audience. Iris's voice actress is Aoi Yūki (悠木 碧) and Dent's voice actor is Mamoru Miyano (宮野真守). They showed a few brief scenes of them recording their characters in the studio. Mamoru Miyano revealed that Dent has a Yanappu and repeated Dent's catch phrase 'It's tasting time!' numerous times.

logoThe official TV Tokyo summary for the 310th episode of Pokémon Sunday has confirmed the rumour that the series will end on September 26th, 2010. Pokémon Sunday (ポケモン☆サンデー) is a Japanese variety show that debuted October 3rd, 2004. Most of the cast has stayed the same throughout the series but the notable departure of Becky (ベッキー) in 2006 and the addition of Shoko-tan (中川翔子) was the only major cast change during the series 6 year run.

The series final episode: PokéSun Series Finale - A Release of Famous Scenes, Strange Scenes and Treasured Clips All in One Go! / The PokéSun Company Disbands!?? (ポケサン最終回、名場面・珍場面・秘蔵映像を一挙放出! / ポケサンカンパニーも解散!??), will review highlights from the series and reveal what is happening to the PokéSun Company members.

A new series titled Pokémon Smash has shown up in Japanese TV guides for Sunday October 3rd, 2010. The new series will probably be Pokémon Sunday's replacement as Shoko Nakagawa (中川翔子) had confirmed on her blog that she will be a host.

Sep 12 2010 Pokémon Sunday 308

Episode PictureThe latest episode of Pokémon Sunday, I Got Gonbe with Haruka Delicious!! / The PokéSun Members Test 'Pocket Monsters Black and White'! / Masuda Appears in the Game Arena / A 2-week Special Present!

This weeks rerun theme was a new one for September entitled PokéSun Members Big Success (ポケスンメンバー大活躍!). I Got Gonbe with Haruka Delicious! was this weeks repeat episode which features Gonbe. A wild Gonbe appears and wreaks havoc with the local Pokémon Center by eating all the PokéBlocks. A full summary of this episode is available in the episode guide.

The episode started off with the PokéSun members looked at all the new Pokémon Black and White merchandise they had setup around the set. Yamamoto stretches and looks around and notices a Mijumaru (ミジュマル) watching. He does a double take an notices that it's still there and quickly tells everyone what he saw. They all turn and look where he was pointing but Mijumaru was gone. Yamamoto sees Mijumaru once again through the crack of the side entrances sliding doors and tells everyone to look yet again. The crew turns to see only the closed doors. Golgo decides its best to just announce today's anime episode.

A preview clip of this weeks special entitled: A Closer Look at the Secrets of the New Games and Anime!! (ポケモン新作ゲーム&アニメのヒミツに迫る!!) which features the cast from Pokémon Sunday was shown after the anime repeat episode. The special will air on Thursday September 16th, 2010. It will showcase the upcoming Pokémon Black and White games as well as the new anime series Best Wishes. A preview for the special was posted on the official TV Tokyo YouTube page last week and that same preview aired on the show today but without the new cat Pokémon that was revealed in the original trailer. The reason why the trailer was taken down and modified was because Junichi Masuda (増田順一) from GAMEFREAK wanted to make the revealing of Choroneko (チョロネコ) an exclusive world premiere for this episode of Pokémon Sunday.

After the preview Shoko-tan announces that Junichi Masuda (増田順一) from GAMEFREAK had arrived to reveal information about the new games Pokémon Black and White. Golgo and Red asked hi m in Hawaii in last weeks episode if he would tell them some information then but he agreed instead to show them on today's episode. He walked on the set with the DS box packaging for Pokémon Black and White as well as 3 hats featuring the starter Pokémon. He gave the hats to Robert as a present. Yamamoto chose the Mijumaru (ミジュマル) hat, Akiyama wore the Pokabu (ポカブ) one and Baba wore the Tsutaja (ツタージャ) hat.

Shoko-tan asked Masuda the first question which was: "Were there any problems you wanted to address? (苦労したところは?)". He responds by explaining that he wanted to make it easier for people to communicate with the new games but he found that to be a hard task to do but came up with the C Gear (Cギア). Yamamoto then ask Masuda: "How long have the games been in development? (製作期間的には どれくらい?)" which he answers '4 years... (4年…。)". Baba askes: "Are there differences from the 4th Generation? (DP Pt HGSSと違う点は?). Masuda replies: "There will only be new Pokémon appearing until the ending." (エンディングまで登場するのは全て新ポケモン。)

Yamamoto was the first to get to try out Pokémon Black. Just as he booted up the game it asked if he wanted to play it using Hiragana and Katakana or to use kanji. (ゲームで つかう もじは ひらがな・カタカナに しますか? それとも 漢字に しますか?). Playing the game with Kanji in the dialog is a new option in Black and White as all the previous Pokémon games have only used Hiragana and Katakana. Yamamoto chose the Kanji option.

Yamamoto chose the male character and named him Hiroshi, after himself. The show quickly moved on to the starter Pokémon selection screen and Yamamoto chose Mijumaru (ミジュマル). The game then shows the character walking around Kanoko Town (カノコタウン) where they visit Professor Araragi lab with Belle (ベル) and Cheren (チェレン). The Professor gives a Pokémon Zukan to main character. The show quickly transitions to Route 1 (1ばんどうろ).

Yamamoto encounters a wild level 2 Minezumi (ミネズミ) and captured it. The Zukan information for Minezumi was displayed. It is a Normal type, 0.5m high, weights 11.6kg and it is Isshu dex number 010. Minezumi's Dex entry: It stores food in the pouches of its cheeks and keeps watch for days. It uses its tail to give signals to its peers." (ほほの ふくろに エサを ためこみ なんにちも みはりを つづける。 しっぽで なかまに あいずする。) He then encountered N and battled him. Choroneko's (チョロネコ) Zukan information was also revealed and it is Isshu dex number 015. Choroneko Dex entry: "It playfully steals things from people. The people it steals from can't help but forgive it because of its cute gestures." (ひとの ものを あそびで ぬすむ。 ぬすまれた ひとも あいくるしい しぐさに つい ゆるしてしまうのだ。)

Hidden Machine (HM01) in Pokémon Black and White is Cut (いあいぎり) and it is given to player by Mamoko. Yamamoto taught the move to his Minezumi. Players with the cut move can then use it to clear an opening an abandoned warehouse where a Munna (ムンナ) is located. Munna's evolution Musharna is the key to allow people to go to the Dream World (ゆめのあとち). Plasma Gang appears and battles. After the battle, Yamamoto returns back to Mamoko who gives the C Gear to the player.

Just before the commercial break, Yadon Akiyama appeared and did a brief skit based on Michael Jackson as his song Billie Jean played in the background. Returning from the commercial break, Masuda showed off the Sky Arrow Bridge. The bridge connects the main Isshu region with Hiun City.

During the Pokémon Sunday news segment, a preview clip from the upcoming new anime series Pocket Monsters Best Wishes! (ポケットモンスター ベストウイッシュ) which begins airing on September 23rd, 2010, was shown. Today's episode featured a report of the Pokémon World Championships 2010 that took place in Hawaii on August 13th to 15th, 2010. Pokémon TCG and video game players from around the world who qualified for the event were there participating for prizes and scholarships as well as the title of champion! Chief Golgo and Professor Red were sent to report of the event.

The report starts off with Golgo and Red swimming towards the shoreline in snorkeling gear, making it look like they swam from Japan to Hawaii. Red exclaims "I made it to Hawaii!" (ハワイに ついたぞ!) as the two of them, in their white and red striped swimming suit, manage to walk up the beach gradually making it look like they were exhausted.

Golgo and Red then met and interviewed the Junior TCG members of Team Japan. Baba's Mikaruge used Ominous Wind (あやしいかぜ) on Yamamoto's Mikaruge, slightly damaging it. Yamamoto's Mikaruge used Shadow Ball on Baba's Mikaruge, lowering its hit points to critical. Giratina used Shadow Force and disappeared. Baba's Mikaruge used Dark Pulse (あくのはどう) on Yamamoto's Mikaruge, almost KO'ing it. Yamamoto's Mikaruge used Shadow Ball on Baba's Mikaruge, but this time it knocked it out. Baba sent out Palkia. Yamamoto's Mikaruge tried to use Shadow Ball but it failed. Returning from the repeat episode, the PokéSun crew has a 'Wack-a-Mole' like tent setup to promote the latest Movie. The tent is used as a New PokéSun Record event. Shoko-tan decides that she'd try out the game which requires her to take pictures of Zoroark with the Nintendo DSi. Robert's head pop out as distractions so she'll take pictures of them instead of Zoroark. She managed to take 3 pictures of Zoroark but she took 2 picture of Yamamoto and one picture of Akiyama's hair to give her a final score of 0 points.

TIM head off to Kamagaya Hatsutomi Chiba City Elementary School (千葉県 鎌ヶ谷市立初富小学校) for another PokéSun Record event. The first event was the Celebi Relay Race (ときのはもん ときわたりリレー) which had the teams dressed up in green ponchos and boots so they looked like Celebi. Each team held a bucket of water over their head and had to walk across a narrow board without spilling too much water. The team members pass the water bucket to each member of the team and the team with the most amount of water left in the bucket at the end of the relay is the winner. A team ended up winning the event.

The next event was Dodorio Rope Skipping (ドードリオのがむしゃらなわとび) and featured 3 people holding hands while running and skipping together as fast as they could across the gym. The event featured next was Sawamular's Megaton Kick (サワムラーのメガトンキック) which required people to kick their shoe off as far as they could. One kid was able to kick his shoe over 20 metres!

The next event was Zoroark's Camera Shutter (ゾロアークシャッターチャンス), the event that Shoko-tan played earlier in the show. The record is 9 points for the game but no one was able to beat the record. The final event for the day was the PokéWalker relay. Blue team managed to get the best score for the day with -204. The current record is -404.

During the Pokémon Game Arena, Robert visited The Pokémon Company where they were greeted by Pokémon Company Publicity Department Member Jonathan (株式会社ポケモン 宣伝企各部 前野”ジョナサン” 和志さん). Akiyama was dressed up as Shoko-tan which amused both Yamamoto and Baba for a bit when Shoko-Akiyama was revealed. Jonathan first revealed the cases for Black and White and indicated that the outside of the case was a bit different as Reshiram (レシラム) and Zekrom (ゼクロム) tails both glow a bit.
