Daniela is a kindergarten teacher who lives with her grandmother Karena, who runs Pokémon Day Care near Shippo City. One day the kids in her class found a Yabukuron and they brought it to class with them but Daniela told them they couldn't keep it and her point was made when it released a bad smell. Daniela took the Yabukuron to the junkyard despite the children's affection towards it.

Daniela met Ash Ketchum and his friends as they were traveling towards Shippo City. The kids in her class had recovered the Yabukuron and they were on the run causing trouble. Ash Ketchum was able to befriend the class and help sort out the disagreement between the kids and Daniela regarding the Yabukuron.
