To celebrate the first anniversary of the completion of the Kyushu Shinkansen line, a Pikachu that knows ExtremeSpeed which was announced by Junichi Masuda at a scheduled appearance at the Fukuoka Pokémon Center on February 25th, 2012, was distributed on trains traveling on the Kyushu Shinkansen line. It was part of an event called the Super Powerful Pokémon Present Campaign (超強力ポケモン プレゼントキャンペーン) where a bunch of event Pokémon were distributed.

The Pikachu present was distributed wirelessly on the Kyushu Shinkansen 800 series of trains between passenger cars 3 and 4 from March 1st, 2012 until May 6th, 2012. Below is a list of Shinkansen train numbers that had the Pikachu event.
