While currently on an interview and promotional tour in the United States for the upcoming Pokémon Black and White games, GameFreak Director Junichi Masuda revealed to 1UP that the rumor that originated on IGN about Pokémon Black & White having additional features if played on the Nintendo 3DS was not correct.

"Other than just being able to play the game normally, there's nothing special if you use a 3DS." Masuda confirmed in an interview at Nintendo's office in Redwood City on February 15th, 2011.

Masuda also posted pictures of his visit to the Pokémon Black and White Version Tour at Westfield Oakridge in San Jose, California on his Director's blog on the GameFreak Director's Column blog.

Well, that's really not surprising at all. They did mention in a previous interview that Black and White had really be developed with the DS(i) in mind. And frankly, I prefer not to have any 3DS functionalities, rather than some lame, half-assed and rushed 3DS 'gimmicks' just to say 'yeah, we got da 3DS features'.

Also, I'd rather have them try to really use the 3DS functionalities when the next generation comes out... and not do a repeate of Diamond/Pearl, which barely used the touch screens...
