DeNA has announced taht the Legendary Event Lurking Shadow will take place from February 7th, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. until March 10th, 2021 at 9:59 p.m. in Pokémon Masters EX. The Grimsley and Karen Spotlight Scout will be available from February 7th, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. until February 25th, 2021 at 9:59 p.m.

Legendary Event Lurking Shadow

You can complete the event to team up with Giovanni & Mewtwo! Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow is back! You can team up with Giovanni & Mewtwo in this event. With the Prize Box and Event Missions, you will be able to raise the potential and move level of Giovanni & Mewtwo to the highest level.

Event Details

You can complete battles and progress through the event to team up with Giovanni & Mewtwo!


You can collect Legendary Prize Coins D by completing battles, then use them to pull from the Prize Box!


When you pull a grand prize from the Prize Box, you can move on to the next Prize Box pool. Grand prizes include 5★-Guaranteed Scout Ticket, Giovanni & Mewtwo’s Custom ★ Power-Ups, and more!

Lv. 130 Unlocked!

In conjunction with this event, you will now be able train Giovanni & Mewtwo up to Lv. 130. Try making Giovanni & Mewtwo as strong as you can!

Event Missions

You can take on special missions during the event period. If you meet certain conditions in event missions, you can earn event medals and acquire Giovanni & Mewtwo more times to level up their moves. Check the Missions screen to learn more!

Note: When you acquire Giovanni & Mewtwo via event missions for the second, third, fourth, or fifth time, their move level will increase accordingly even if the corresponding animation and details are not displayed.

Exchange Items

Exchange Items is currently under way to mark the start of Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow. If you no longer need to raise potential for Giovanni & Mewtwo, you can exchange Giovanni & Mewtwo’s Custom ★ Power-Ups that you get in the Prize Box for items such as 5★ Power-Ups.

Note: To exchange items for this event, go to the Exchange Items menu in the Shop, then look for the Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow section of the Event tab.

Custom Vouchers

The following items that were previously obtainable during the Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow will no longer be useable.

• Custom Voucher 1
• Custom Super Voucher 1

Any of these items that remain when the event ends will be converted into coins (10 coins per item) and sent to your Present Box. Thank you for your understanding.

• This event's story is the same as the Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow held from March 5, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. to March 15, 2020 at 9:59 p.m.
• Some of the battles and rewards in this event differ from the Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow held from March 5, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. to March 15, 2020 at 9:59 p.m. Note: You can claim the rewards even if you previously completed the Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow.
• To participate, you must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
• The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those you can actually obtain.
• Items remaining in the prize box will no longer be obtainable after proceeding to the next prize pool.
• When the prize box closes, leftover Legendary Prize Coins D will be converted into coins (10 coins per Legendary Prize Coin D) and sent to your Present Box.
• Please note that if you fulfill the requirements to acquire Giovanni & Mewtwo after their Move Level has been upgraded to 5, you will get a 3★ Power-Up instead of a 5★ Power-Up.
• All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
