The official Pokémon website has announced a new Pokémon TCG promo card will be available to get for those in the United States and Canada that purchase Pokémon GO products at the Pokémon Center. In Europe, Trainers who complete research in Pokémon GO and tasks at Pokémon League events will receive a special Professor's Research card while supplies last.

Bonus Pokémon TCG Card with Pokémon GO Special Research at the Pokémon Center

The Professor’s Research card featuring Professor Willow comes as a gift with purchases and includes a code for Special Research.

The only thing better than a bonus Pokémon TCG card is a card that includes access to Special Research in Pokémon GO! Trainers who purchase Pokémon GO products at the Pokémon Center—including the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 T-shirt—will receive a special Professor's Research card with each product purchased.

This card features the esteemed Professor Willow and includes a code that can be used at Niantic's Offer Redemption website to access Special Research beginning in July. The card is available through the Pokémon Center only while supplies last, so don't let other Trainers beat you to the punch!

The Pokémon Center won't be the only place to add this special card to your Pokémon TCG collection. Starting soon, Trainers who complete research in Pokémon GO and tasks at Pokémon League events will also receive Professor Willow's card while supplies last. In the summer of 2021, as the first phase of a collaboration project between the Pokémon Card Game and the Pokémon GO game will be the release the Professor Willow card, the Pokémon Professor from Pokémon GO. The card will be available in all Pokémon Card Game sales regions worldwide.

Professor Willow is hard at work on his research with binoculars in hand, and his partner, the Mythical Pokémon Meltan, who is on his shoulder.


This Professor Willow card appears as Professor Willow's Research, a card so essential that it must be included in every deck in Pokémon Card Game match today. It's a Trainer's card with a powerful effect that allows you to draw seven cards from the deck, giving you an instant advantage.

In addition, there is a special promotion code written on the card that is not found on regular Pokémon cards, which allows you to experience a Special Research in Pokémon GO.

How to Enter the Promotion Code and Notes

The Promotion Code written on Professor Willow's card must be entered and the Special Research must be received by Monday, July 31st, 2023. Please note that you will not be able to receive the Special Research after the expiration date. Please note that you can only receive the Special Research once per code. Also, only one code can be used per Pokémon GO account. Depending on your smartphone or Pokémon GO account, the method of entering the promotion code may differ.

Japan - How to get the card

Professor Willow cards can be obtained in each region of the world where the Pokémon Card Game is sold. Please note that additional ways to obtain cards other than those listed may be added or changed in the future.

The Pokémon GO 5th Anniversary Collaboration Campaign will be held on July 9th, 2021, with a special offer of a Professor Willow card for purchases of 800 yen (including tax) or more of Pokémon Card Game products at participating stores. The campaign will start on Friday, July 9th, 2021 and will end as soon as all the cards are gone.

The card will also be distributed at Akindo Sushiro and at Odakyu Electric Railway stations when you spend 1,300 yen or more, starting on July 9th, 2021.
