As we come to the close of another eventful year of exploration, let’s start the next one off right—with a New Year’s celebration event in Pokémon GO!

This year, our New Year’s party features Pokémon decked in their sparkly best, a new avatar item and pose, and more! Let’s GO...right into 2023!

Pokémon GO New Year’s 2023 event

Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. to Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time

New costumed Pokémon will appear during this event!

Shiny Icon: If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Starting with this event, you’ll also be able to evolve Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit into Noctowl wearing a New Year’s outfit!

During this event, festive fireworks will light up the skies. We hope you enjoy the colorful decor!

New avatar item, pose, and stickers

The following avatar item and pose will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends!
