A Message from the Pokémon Masters EX Team (Vol. 48)

Greetings, Trainers.
We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you.Today, we’ll focus on details about events beginning around the end of June and the new Sync Pairs that will debut.

App Update for Late June - A New Guest Arrives in the Trainer Lodge

Starting June 30, 2023, you’ll be able to invite Irida as a Guest to the Trainer Lodge! To invite Irida, you’ll need to team up with Irida & Glaceon first. The Master Fair Sync Pair Scout featuring Irida & Glaceon runs until July 9, 2023.

Also in this update, we made minor UI improvements, such as letting you select the maximum and minimum number of Skip Tickets with a single tap, so we hope you make use of this feature.

Story Event Twin Stars Far Apart Is Coming!

Story Event Twin Stars Far Apart will begin on June 29, 2023. A star festival is being held on Pasio. Tate and Liza are chosen as the main stars of the festival to sing and dance in dazzling outfits. They’re hard at work practicing, but what lies in store for them?

To go along with the story, Tate & Jirachi and Liza & Celesteela will appear in the Sync Pair Scout. The story depicts how they met and bonded with their partners, so we hope you look forward to it!

Tate (Summer 2023) & Jirachi

Tate (Summer 2023) & Jirachi are a Steel-type tech Sync Pair that battles utilizing the effects of their Passive Skills. With one of their Passive Skills, every two times Jirachi uses a move, Doom Desire will activate against the opponent targeted by the second move, inflicting additional Steel-type damage.
Additionally, when Doom Desire activates, one of the following stats of all allied Sync Pairs will get raised by two stat ranks at random: Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, accuracy, or evasiveness.
They can use moves to weaken their opponent, such as Thunder Wave, which paralyzes the target, and Charm, which lowers the target’s Attack by two stat ranks. Also, when they use a move that targets an opponent, another Passive Skill of theirs lowers that target’s Sp. Def by two stat ranks, making them a Sync Pair that can fight in a wide variety of ways.

Liza (Summer 2023) & Celesteela

Liza (Summer 2023) & Celesteela are a Flying-type strike Sync Pair that have a Passive Skill that lets them use Giga Impact as a Flying-type move. They can also bolster their own Defense, a rarity for a strike Sync Pair, by using Iron Defense to raise their Defense by two stat ranks. One of their Passive Skills can also raise their Defense by two stat ranks when they use a Pokémon status move. On top of that, they can use Protect to apply the Damage Guard Next effect to themselves.

In addition, Into the Night Sky! raises their accuracy by one stat rank and critical-hit rate by three stat ranks. Plus, when their Defense has been raised, Into the Night Sky! will also raise their Attack by the same amount, so we highly recommend raising their Defense before using it.

When Celesteela uses a status move, another one of their Passive Skills will apply the Free Move Next effect to themselves, meaning they can use Giga Impact for zero slots of the Move Gauge instead of the normal four!

The High Score Event Arrives At Last!

The High Score Event, which is the new battle content we mentioned in previous messages, will finally arrive on July 10, 2023!

As we mentioned before, in this event, you can take on a total of five battles. In these battles, if you make your opponents stronger and do well while following the battle rules, you can get a higher score in each battle and earn rewards.

This time, the three main battle rules that will determine your score are completion time, total number of stat raises, and total number of attacks. If you want a high score, you’ll have to perform well for each of these rules in each battle.

That’s not all! You’ll only be able to get a score by completing battles with a Team consisting of at least one of the types designated each time this event occurs. It’s not just about winning but also about how you build your Teams, making this an event that you’ll be able to play and enjoy in a new way.

Water is the designated type for the event this time. The more Water-type Sync Pairs you have on your team, the higher the score you can get, but Sync Pairs that you bring into one battle cannot join other battles, so teaming up with a lot of Water-type Sync Pairs will be key.

In addition to first-time completion rewards for each battle, you could earn items such as 5★ Power-Ups, Certificates of Excellence, and Move Candy Coins from reward tiers based on your total score from all battles. As you play, you may find yourself close to reaching the next reward tier, so we hope you’ll enjoy finding ways to increase your score by adjusting your Teams and battle strategy.

Also, just like in the Legendary Gauntlet, there will be a ranking feature in the High Score Event, so aim for the top if you’re confident!

Other Events and Updates

In mid-July, the first part of the Galar Chapter is scheduled to be added to the Villain Arc as the final region.

We also have more planned, including the return of last year’s Story Event Summer Nights & Wishing Stars, the addition of a new Legendary Arena, and new Trainer Files, so we hope you enjoy them.

Future Updates

The second part of the Galar Chapter is scheduled to be added in late July. With the Main Story Villain Arc finally reaching its climax, we hope that you give it a try if you haven’t played it yet.

In addition, a Daily Type Rotation event (in which you can battle Sync Pairs of various types) and the final part of the Paulo Chapter are also planned, so we hope you look forward to them!

What to Expect in the Next Message

Our next message is scheduled for late July. In it, we plan to share information about new Sync Pairs and events for August. We’re always working hard to deliver updates and improvements that make the world of Pokémon Masters EX as fun as possible. Until next time, thank you for playing Pokémon Masters EX.
