Starting today, December 11th, 2025, players can reach a new level of friendship in Pokémon GO. By reaching Forever Friends, Trainers can unlock a Remote Trade, allowing them to trade Pokémon with each other from anywhere in the world! The feature was announced on December 8th, 2025 and the rollout started on Monday, December 8th, 2025, beginning with New Zealand.

Update: As of Monday, January 19, 2026 at 4 p.m. PST, the Weekly Challenges feature now offers matchmaking, enabling Trainers to join groups with people they aren’t friends with yet. This feature is opt-in. Enjoy discovering new friends to play with remotely! Additionally, completing weekly challenges will now reward an encounter with Tandemaus, the Together Pokémon!

Update: The Weekly Challenges feature is now available globally as of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. PST. Please note that new weekly challenges will now be posted globally every Monday at 4:00 p.m. PST, and each weekly challenge will end the following Monday at 4:00 p.m. PST.
