The producer of Pokémon Masters Yu Sasaki posted an open letter about the game on the Pokémon Master's official website. The letter addresses the upcoming changes to the game.

A Message from the Pokémon Masters EX Team (Vol. 37)

Greetings, Trainers.
We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you. Today, we’ll focus on details about the Trainer Lodge, the three-year anniversary, and new Sync Pairs that will debut at the end of August.

New Content: The Trainer Lodge!

At last, the Trainer Lodge has arrived! This is the new major content that focuses on connecting and interacting with Trainers that we mentioned in previous messages. Today, we’ll share some details about the Trainer Lodge, so we hope you give it a try.

The Trainer Lodge

The two main features of the Trainer Lodge are interactions and expeditions. First, we’ll tell you about interactions. You can interact with Trainers you’ve invited to the Trainer Lodge as Guests by having special conversations with them. You can earn Friendship Points from these conversations. Accumulating Friendship Points will increase Friendship Levels.

By increasing Friendship Levels, you can earn rewards such as Move Candy Coins and 5★-Guaranteed Scout Tickets, as well as special rewards that are exclusive to the Trainer Lodge, including Scrapbook Photos and Friendship Stories.

Scrapbook Photos are special photos you can get based on a Guest’s Friendship Level. By meeting certain conditions, you can even get Frames and Holo Foils, which you can use to customize your photos.
Friendship Stories are special stories that you can view by selecting Chat once a Guest reaches a certain Friendship Level.

You can interact with Guests again and again, raise your favorite Trainers’ Friendship Levels, and try to get Scrapbook Photos and Friendship Stories!

With this update, 9 Trainers can be invited as Guests. We plan to make more Trainers available in future updates. We hope you look forward to it.
Note: To invite a Trainer as a Guest to the Trainer Lodge, you need to obtain that Trainer’s lodge-applicable Sync Pair.


Next, we’ll tell you about expeditions. You can choose Sync Pairs to form a Team and send them on expeditions to various spots on Pasio. By launching expeditions, you can get rewards, including items used for interactions and items that can be exchanged for various Upgrade Items.

Each Sync Pair has Expedition Skills that will make it easier or harder for them to find certain items.
Form an Expedition Team with various Sync Pairs and try to get rewards as efficiently as possible!


In the Trainer Lodge, you can get various rewards from expeditions as you deepen your bonds with Trainers by interacting with them, so we hope you enjoy the Trainer Lodge with your favorite Trainers!
There’s even more to the Trainer Lodge! For additional details, check out the Trainer Lodge announcement or the in-game tips.

Additionally, a Monthly Poké Fair Scout will be made available in conjunction with the arrival of the Trainer Lodge. Sync Pairs that you’ll need to obtain to invite Trainers as Guests to the Trainer Lodge, such as Cynthia & Garchomp and N & Zekrom, will be included in the Monthly Poké Fair Scout. The Monthly Poké Fair Scout will feature a different Fair-Exclusive Sync Pair each month. This month, the featured pair is Cynthia & Garchomp!

Note: These features will be reflected after updates are implemented.

In a previous message, we let you know that existing Sync Pairs will be powered up. Cynthia & Garchomp are the first of these Sync Pairs.
Their Sync Grid has become even more powerful—you can activate tiles such as Attack +20 and Speed +20 without using any energy, and tiles such as Sand Blaster 5 have been added.
Try taking on battles with a powered-up Cynthia & Garchomp on your Team!
Note: To unlock some tiles, Cynthia & Garchomp’s move level must be raised to level 2 or 3.

The Three-Year Anniversary of Pokémon Masters EX Is Almost Here!

Pokémon Masters EX is about to celebrate its three-year anniversary! We’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to all players. As a token of our appreciation for your support and to commemorate the three-year anniversary, a Log-in Bonus, new events, a present of 3,000 gems, and other Rallies are coming your way starting August 27, 2022 at 11:00 p.m. Here are specific details about what we have in store for the anniversary.

Ash Arrives in the Scout!

At long last, Ash will arrive in the Sync Pair Scout as a Master Sync Pair!
In addition to our usual Master Fairs, gem specials will be on sale to commemorate the arrival of Ash. A special one-time-only Sync Pair Scout ×11 featuring Ash in the Master Fair will be available for 1,000 paid Gems!

Also, Ash’s event from July will return, and a new Story Event will begin.
Plus, Special Events are scheduled to begin at the same time! In one of them, you can battle Ash and his Pokémon daily for amazing rewards, and in the other, you can take on challenging battles. We hope you look forward to them!

Red and Cynthia Appear in New Sygna Suits!

In addition to Ash, Sync Pair Scouts for the three-year anniversary will feature Cynthia and Red as Master Sync Pairs in new sygna suits. These Sync Pair Scouts will start on separate days.
Cynthia and Red will also play big parts in two upcoming events: an Extreme Battle Event and a Story Event. We hope you look forward to them.

Buddy Moves Debut!

Powerful new Moves called Buddy Moves will debut! To use a Buddy Move during battle, you must first meet certain conditions, which differ for each Move. Each Move will have its own powerful specialized effects, and some future Sync Pairs will have them as normal Moves.

Ash & Pikachu, Sygna Suit Cynthia (Aura) & Lucario, and Sygna Suit Red (Thunderbolt) & Pikachu, who all make an appearance during the three-year anniversary, will have Buddy Moves! More Sync Pairs with Buddy Moves are scheduled to arrive in the future and will not be limited to Master Sync Pairs. We hope you look forward to them.

Next, we’d like to tell you about the Buddy Moves the Sync Pairs that appear during the three-year anniversary will have, as well as these Sync Pairs’ other capabilities.

Ash & Pikachu

Ash & Pikachu are an Electric-type strike Master Sync Pair. Their Buddy Move is called B Thunderbolt and is usable after Ash & Pikachu use a Move three times. It gets more powerful the more move gauge slots it uses (up to six slots), so you can deal major damage depending on the situation.

Also, their Ash’s Passion Passive Skill has extremely powerful effects. It increases the power of Ash & Pikachu’s Thunder, reduces its Move Gauge usage by one, and makes it guaranteed to hit. Their Not Gonna Lose! Move charges their Move Gauge by six, restores their HP by approximately 20%, and applies the Supereffective ↑ Next, Damage Guard Next, and Gradual Healing effects to themselves. They also have other powerful Moves and Passive Skills, making them a versatile Sync Pair that can be helpful in all kinds of battles.

Sygna Suit Cynthia (Aura) & Lucario

Sygna Suit Cynthia (Aura) & Lucario are a Fighting-type support Master Sync Pair.
Their Buddy Move is called B Aura Sphere and is usable every time they are hit by two attack moves. It deals damage to one opponent, applies the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to all allies, and increases the Physical Moves ↑ Next and Special Moves ↑ Next effects of all allies by two ranks.

Also, their Cynthia’s Aura Passive Skill can turn the field of play’s zone into a Fighting Zone the first time they enter a battle or after using their Sync Move.

On top of that, their It Won’t End Here! Move raises the Defense and Sp. Def of all allies by six stat ranks when the zone is a Fighting Zone, thus giving their team’s defenses a big boost. (It raises those stats by four stat ranks when the zone is not a Fighting Zone.)

Plus, they can restore an ally’s HP with Potion and their Team Fist Bump 3 Passive Skill have a chance of restoring the HP of all allies when successfully attacking with a Move, so they can provide valuable support to their allies no matter which Sync Pairs they’re teamed up with.

Sygna Suit Red (Thunderbolt) & Pikachu

Sygna Suit Red (Thunderbolt) & Pikachu are an Electric-type tech Master Sync Pair.
Their Buddy Move is called B Volt Tackle and is usable when the terrain is Electric Terrain. It ignores the target’s Passive Skills that would reduce its damage or protect the target against a critical hit. It also ignores the target’s Enduring effect and lowers the target’s Defense and Sp. Def by one stat rank when that target is paralyzed. Note that B Volt Tackle’s power will not be reduced even if multiple opponents are targeted. Sygna Suit Red (Thunderbolt) & Pikachu can also use Max Moves, and their G-Max Volt Crash can leave all opponents paralyzed.

Sygna Suit Red (Thunderbolt) & Pikachu can turn the terrain into Electric Terrain themselves, so use their Moves to maximize B Volt Tackle’s potential!

Plus, their Spark of Victory! Move can raise their Attack by six stat ranks and apply the Gradual Healing effect to all allies, making them a Sync Pair that can excel at both offense and defense!

Celebrate the Three-Year Anniversary with Special Sync Pair Scouts!

In addition to the Master Fairs we just told you about, the 5★-Select Poké Fair Scout ×15 and 5★-Select Poké Fair Scout ×25 will also be available in celebration of the three-year anniversary.

The 5★-Select Poké Fair Scout ×15 includes 3 Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs, and the 5★-Select Poké Fair Scout ×25 includes 6 Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs. Plus, you’ll be able to select one Sync Pair after using each Scout.
Some new Sync Pairs that debuted this year, such as Sygna Suit Giovanni & Nidoking and Sygna Suit Morty & Ho-Oh, will be included, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity!

New Sync Pairs to Be Added to the BP Item Exchange!

Starting August 27, 2022 at 11:00 p.m., you’ll be able to exchange for 2 new 5★ Sync Pairs and 4 new 4★ Sync Pairs at the BP Item Exchange! To celebrate these additions, one BP Sync Pair Voucher, which you can exchange for a 4★ Sync Pair, and one BP Sync Pair Super Voucher, which you can exchange for a 5★ Sync Pair, will be sent to all players starting August 27, 2022 at 11:00 p.m.. The Legendary Arena Will Be Open Permanently!

Starting September 7, 2022 at 11:00 p.m., you’ll be able to take on the Legendary Arena whenever you want. Whether you missed some of the battles in the past or just want to step up to the challenge and test your skills, this will be a great opportunity! Legendary Arena Event Missions offering Gems as rewards are scheduled to be available in the future as well, so be sure to take those on, too.

Upcoming Events

We also have a lot more content planned for early September, including the Electric- and Fighting-Type Egg Event, the Electric-Type Gear Event, and a returning event. A new event is scheduled for mid-September as well, so we hope you enjoy it.

Plus, Epic Battle Event Legendary Gauntlet will begin in late September! The Legendary Pokémon that will be your opponents this time are Latios, Azelf, and Cobalion. In preparation for these battles, we recommend training your Dragon-, Ice-, Bug-, and Fire-type Sync Pairs and taking on the permanent Legendary Arena battles.

Villain Event Team Aqua’s Stormy Seas Under Way! You can collect Rayquaza Crystals to give Zinnia & Rayquaza a power boost!

Zinnia & Rayquaza Power Boost

You can collect Rayquaza Crystals during this event and exchange them for items to give Zinnia & Rayquaza a power boost! After Zinnia & Rayquaza have received this power boost, Rayquaza will Mega Evolve after using its Sync Move.

Once Rayquaza has Mega Evolved, its stats will be raised, it will gain Fresh Start and Move Gauge Refresh 2 Passive Skills, and Aerial Ace will change to Dragon Ascent.

Note: If you have not teamed up with Zinnia & Rayquaza, you will be unable to use Rayquaza Crystals to give Zinnia & Rayquaza this power boost.
Note: The power boost cannot be undone once completed.

Strength Bonuses

In the Villain Event Team Aqua’s Stormy Seas, Sync Pairs with the specified region Theme will receive Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def bonuses.

Note: If multiple Themes apply to the same Sync Pair, the larger bonus will take effect. (These bonuses do not stack.)
Note: This event does not feature any lineup bonuses.

Fire and Ground-Type Egg Event

The Fire and Ground-Type Egg Event under way! Hatch Fire-type and Ground-type Eggs! You can check out the Fire- and Ground-Type Egg Event during the time period below. In this event, you can receive an Egg from Professor Bellis that hatches into a Pokémon that is either Fire type or Ground type!

Note: During this event period, you cannot receive Eggs from Professor Bellis by completing areas outside of this event.

Limited-Time Incubator

Lineup Bonuses

You have an increased chance of receiving Eggs if you take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs you place in your lineup, the higher your Egg reward rate will be!

• Main Character Sync Pairs Egg reward rate: ×1.4!
• Fire-type and Ground-type Main Character sync pairs Egg reward rate: ×1.8!
• Fire-type and Ground-type sync pairs Egg reward rate: ×1.2!

The lineup bonus is ×1 by default and varies according to which Sync Pairs are on the team.
Example: If you place a ×1.8, a ×1.2, and a ×1.2 sync pair on your team, your chances of receiving an Egg will be increased by ×2.2.

Looker & Croagunk - They’re a Poison-type strike sync pair whose supereffective moves get powered up by their passive skill! They can use On the Case! to raise their Attack by four stat ranks and Speed by two stat ranks and apply the Supereffective ↑ Next effect to themselves!

Hoenn Challenge Date/Time

Steven and Wallace are now available as Champions in the Hoenn Challenge! Note: Each week, either Steven or Wallace will appear as Champion. Try testing your strength against both Champions!

Master Mode

You can unlock master mode for a region by entering all 18 types of sync pairs into the Hall of Fame and completing the medal for that region.

In master mode, you can give your opponent advantages by selecting from a range of different options before battle. If you win, you will earn points based on the options you selected.

You can earn various rewards throughout the week each time your point total from the five battles against the Elite Four and Champion exceed a specified amount.

Note: Details about points and rewards can be found in the Champion Stadium Rewards section.
Note: Even if you have completed the Medal in the Kanto Challenge or elsewhere, you will still need to complete the Medal in the Hoenn Challenge in order to unlock Master Mode for the Hoenn Challenge.
Once you have entered the Hall of Fame for the week, you can reset your battle progress and retry battles as many times as you want. This will allow you to combine different options and try out different approaches to taking on the same opponents. Try strengthening your opponent using various options and defeat them to earn more points for rewards.

Important

• You can participate in the Champion Stadium after you complete Main Story Chapter 10: A Reason to Battle (Normal) in single-player and collect all PML Badges.
• To attempt the Hoenn Challenge, you must have completed the Kanto Challenge on Normal difficulty.
• Only Normal difficulty for the Kanto Challenge will remain available outside of the Kanto Challenge event.
• Medal acquisition and Hall of Fame information will be saved for each region regardless of event date/time.
• Total point rewards will reset every week at the time listed below to coincide with the Champion Stadium changeover. Reset Time: Sunday at 11:00 p.m.
