UI Improvements

Made various improvements to the in-game UI. Please refer to the following for more details.

Improvements to the Sync Pairs Menu

• The appearance of the Sync Pairs menu has been changed.
• Sync Pairs can be trained via Upgrades in the Sync Pairs menu.
• A feature to upgrade multiple aspects of a sync pair at once has been added to some sections of the Upgrades. You can now tap on the Max Upgrade button to use multiple items required to perform a particular upgrade all at once.
• A feature to perform multiple upgrades at once has been added to some sections of the Upgrades. You can now tap on the Multiple Upgrades button and then select Level, Unlock Level Cap (Affinity in the case of Egg sync pairs), and Theme Skills to use as many of the available upgrade items for the selected upgrade as you can.
• Upgrade Gear now allows you to Level Up multiple times at once.
• You can now navigate to Bellis’s Lab via a Lab button in the Sync Pairs menu.
Reverse Item Lookup

• Some item details screens will now show the quantity of the item you have in stock.
• Some item details screens will now include the Where to Find button.
• You can now access the area info or features where you can find an item by checking its Where to Find list.
• You can now access the area info and features where Battle Points can be earned from the Battle Point Tier Reward screen.
Common Shortcut Feature

• Some screens now allow you to open the common shortcut screen, enabling you to directly access each feature.
Certain Button Adjustments

• The button that takes you to Bellis’s Lab from the Pokémon Center has been removed.
• The location of the button that takes you to Mission Bingo from the Pokémon Center has been changed.
Other Improvements

• You can now access the Upgrades screen from some Sync Pairs details screens.

• Tapping the screen while the reward item animation is being displayed will now let you skip to the end of the animation sequence.
• A Battle Entry section has been added to Tips.
• Fixed an issue that caused unexpected behavior to occur when a Sync Pair is flying, bouncing, or takes on a phantom or shadow presence.
• Fixed an issue for a certain Passive Skill where the effect targets were different than expected.
• Fixed an issue in which, after using a lucky cookie to give a Passive Skill that activates upon entering a battle such as Sharp Entry 1 to Sygna Suit Lusamine & Necrozma or Sygna Suit Serena & Zygarde, the Passive Skill would not activate again when the sync pair changes form with a Sync Move which should have been treated as if they re-entered the battle.

A Message from the Pokémon Masters EX Team (Vol. 36)

Greetings, Trainers.
We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you. Today, we’ll focus on details about new Sync Pairs that debut at the end of July, as well as events for August.

UI Improvements

This update will include major improvements to the usability of the UI, which we mentioned in previous messages.
Today, we’d like to share with you some of the changes that have been made, so please take a look at the new and improved features!

Main Update Details

First off, we’ve updated the Sync Pairs menu.
Strengthening Sync Pairs in particular has been made smoother. Up to now, you’ve had to go to individual screens, such as Level Up and Unlock Level Cap, to perform upgrades, but with this update, the redesigned screen layout will give you a more streamlined experience.

New features have been added as well. The Max Upgrade feature lets you strengthen Sync Pairs by using multiple upgrade items at once, and the convenient Multiple Upgrades feature lets you select Level, Unlock Level Cap, or Theme Skills to upgrade your selections using all of the items that you have.

In addition, the common shortcut feature was added, enabling you to open the common shortcut screen from some screens. This feature allows you to use the common shortcut screen to access various features, including ones you previously had to return to the Pokémon Center to access. For example, you can now go directly to the Sync Pair Scout screen from the Explore screen.

Plus, the reverse item lookup feature has been added, which shows where you can find items. Some item details screens now include the “Where to Find” button, which displays an item location list, letting you go to the areas and features where you can find the item you’re looking for. We hope you’ll take advantage of these features and enjoy playing Pokémon Masters EX even more than before!

Villain Arc Hoenn Chapter Is Coming!

The Hoenn Chapter of the Villain Arc will be released on July 28, 2022. To coincide with the addition of this story, an event is also scheduled to begin at the same time. In this event, you’ll be able to raise Zinnia & Rayquaza to 6★ EX by collecting Legendary Spirit, so we hope you look forward to powering them up.

Also, during the event, May and Brendan will appear as Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs wearing sygna suits in Sync Pair Scouts on separate days.

Next, let’s take a look at what these Sync Pairs are capable of.

Sygna Suit May & Blaziken

Sygna Suit May & Blaziken are a Fire-type tech Sync Pair. They have some distinctive capabilities, such as being able to reduce their Sync Move countdown a lot with their Head Start 2 Passive Skill, as well as with their Propulsion 1 Passive Skill, which they gain when Blaziken Mega Evolves after using their Sync Move.

Also, their Fired Up! Move raises their Attack by four stat ranks and their accuracy by one stat rank while also reducing their Sync Move countdown by one and applying the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to the allied field of play. They can also use Dire Hit All + to raise all allies’ critical-hit rate by two stat ranks, and they have the powerful Fire-type Blaze Kick Move, making them a tech Sync Pair that can also take on the role of a strike Sync Pair.

Sygna Suit Brendan & Latios

Sygna Suit Brendan & Latios are a Dragon-type support sync pair. Their Flying Free! Move raises the critical-hit rate of all allies by one stat rank and uses a maximum of three Move Gauge slots. The more slots used, the more it raises all allies’ Sp. Atk and Sp. Def (which can be raised by up to four stat ranks maximum). Also, all allies will be granted the Free Move Next effect when using three Move Gauge slots, giving this Move an extremely powerful range of effects.

Also, thanks to their Passive Skill, they can raise the chance of lowering stat values with the additional effects of Moves. When an opponent’s stat is lowered by the additional effects of Moves, it will be lowered by double the stat ranks, meaning Luster Purge’s additional effect will be guaranteed to activate and lower the target’s Sp. Def by two stat ranks. They can also use Potion to restore an ally’s HP, so they can aid their allies in a variety of ways, both offensively and defensively.

In addition to these Sync Pairs, two more Sync Pairs that play a big part in the Villain Arc’s story are scheduled to appear in Sync Pair Scouts in the future, so we hope you look forward to it.

Pokémon Masters EX will soon reach its three-year anniversary! We’re deeply grateful for your support. To show our appreciation to all players, several festivities are coming on August 14, 2022 at 11:00 p.m. as part of our Run-Up to Three Years Rally, including a Log-in Bonus and Mission Bingo! We’re also planning all kinds of other content, including an event that lets you team up with a special Sync Pair, so don’t miss it!

Existing Sync Pairs Get Even Stronger!

To coincide with Pokémon Masters Day from now on, one Sync Pair that is already in the game will be powered up each month!
They’ll be powered up by having new tiles added to their Sync Grid. We’re going to focus on Sync Pairs that have already been strengthened with additional tiles but may not see many opportunities to be used in battle because their updates came a long time ago.
We hope you look forward to finding out which Sync Pairs get powered up!

New Major Content Coming Soon!

We’d like to follow up with more information about the new major content that focuses on connecting and interacting with Trainers, which we’ve mentioned in previous messages. Development is progressing smoothly, and we are pleased to announce that it will be released in Pokémon Masters EX as part of the update scheduled for the end of August.

The name of this content is the Trainer Lodge! In the Trainer Lodge, you’ll be able to invite some Trainers as Guests. By interacting with them, you can get special rewards exclusive to the Trainer Lodge and see special stories.

Plus, we’re planning to incorporate other features besides interacting with Trainers, so please wait for the update at the end of August for details. Visuals and details on how to use the Trainer Lodge will be released in the near future, so we hope you take a look when this information is announced.

What to Expect in the Next Message

Our next message is scheduled for late August. In it, we plan to share information about the Three-Year Anniversary, new Sync Pairs that will arrive in September, and the Trainer Lodge.

Legendary Gauntlet Details

The Legendary Gauntlet is a special event where you can take on multiple super-challenging Legendary Arena battles to see how many consecutive wins you can rack up. Once a Sync Pair has been taken into battle, they will not be able to participate in any other battles, regardless of the outcome. The rewards you earn depend on how many consecutive wins you achieve. Optimize your Team and battle order to win as many battles as you can. This is an extremely difficult battle event. Not only should you level up your Sync Pairs, but you should also make sure that you go in with upgrades such as activated Sync Grids and upgraded gear.

About Tyrogue’s Evolution

Forming Sync Pairs with Tyrogue

Normally, you can only have one Pokémon that hatched from an Egg from each evolutionary line as your sync pair partner at a time, but since Tyrogue evolves into different Pokémon depending on the Role, you can pair up with one Tyrogue of each Role.

Limited-Time Incubator

One limited-time incubator will be added to Bellis’s Lab for the duration of this event only. Try hatching lots of Eggs during the event period!
Note: If an Egg is still in the limited-time incubator when the event ends, the limited-time incubator will remain active until that Egg hatches.

Ash & Pikachu Arrive in Pokémon Masters EX

During The Classic Thunderbolt event, you’ll meet the famous Kanto region Trainer and complete special tasks.

The island of Pasio welcomes one of its most surprising visitors yet—Ash Ketchum! The young Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town in the Kanto region has arrived in Pokémon Masters EX alongside his partner, Pikachu. Ash & Pikachu have been training for the Masters Eight Tournament, and through the course of their intense preparation, they've found themselves in this unfamiliar location.

Until July 30, 2022, at 10:59 p.m. PDT, you can learn more about Ash's experience on Pasio during The Classic Thunderbolt event. By playing through this story, you'll earn gems, 4★ Level-Up Manuals, and a variety of different Drink Packs. During the event, there'll also be special Anime Collaboration activities to complete. See below for a list of when each is available:

Anime Collaboration

• July 6 to July 13 – Anime Collaboration: Let's Have a Battle. You can take part in these daily battles against Ash to earn 200 gems.
• July 6 to July 23 – Anime Collaboration Special Missions. You can complete these missions to collect gems, skip tickets, and sync orbs. If you complete them all, you'll earn a 10-Pair + 5★-Select Scout Ticket for the corresponding Ticket Scout.
• July 6 to July 23 – Anime Collaboration Log-In Bonus. You can play Pokémon Masters EX every day to earn up to 1,100 gems and thirty 5★-Guaranteed Scout Tickets.
• July 6 to July 30 – Anime Collaboration Scout. You can exchange 100 gems to activate a One-Time-Only 5★-Guaranteed Scout where you'll receive 11 sync pairs plus a guaranteed 5★ sync pair.

• To claim log-in bonuses, you must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
• Log-in bonuses are sent to your Present Box.
• Log-in bonuses can only be claimed during the specified time period.
• Log-in bonuses sent to the Present Box can only be claimed for a limited period of time.
• Log-in bonuses can only be claimed once per day.
• Up to 7 log-in bonuses can be claimed.
• Log-in bonuses are reset each day at 11:00 p.m.
• If you are already logged in, you will need to return to the Pokémon Center and claim them from your Present Box.
• To attempt missions, you must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
