Greetings, Trainers. We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you. Today, we’ll focus on updates heading into the one-and-a-half-year mark of the game.

Run-Up to 1.5 Years Celebration

The Run-Up to 1.5 Years Rally begins today. As part of its many festivities, it includes a log-in bonus from which you can get a total of 1500 gems, so we hope you enjoy everything that Pokémon Masters EX has to offer during this rally.

Legendary Event: Give and Take

The Give and Take legendary event begins today. In this event, you can add Professor Sycamore & Xerneas to your team.

As a support sync pair, Professor Sycamore & Xerneas can do things such as restore HP and accelerate the move gauge, so they’re sure to play a big part on your team.


Additionally, Lysandre & Yveltal are appearing in the sync pair scout during this event. They’re a strike sync pair that can use their move Oblivion Wing to attack and heal at the same time. Their high-powered moves and great durability make them a force to be reckoned with.

The Main Story Continues

New main story content is coming on February 17, 2021. As mentioned in a previous message, we’ll be updating the main story about once every one to two months going forward.

Piers & Obstagoon Debut in the Sync Pair Scout

Also on February 17, 2021, Piers & Obstagoon will debut in the sync pair scout. This savvy sync pair can protect allies and use their move Obstruct to nullify damage from attack moves.

Cresselia Comes to the Legendary Arena

Cresselia arrives in the Legendary Arena on February 17, 2021 as well. Strategy tips will be available when the arena opens, so give them a look if you find the battle challenging.

Lance and Sygna Suit Cynthia Return to the Sync Pair Scout

Lance & Dragonite and Sygna Suit Cynthia & Kommo-o will return to the sync pair scout on February 21, 2021. Both sync pairs will have 6★ EX unlocked when they return.

Training Area Reward Boost Rally

The Training Area Reward Boost Rally will begin on February 21, 2021. We hope you take this opportunity to strengthen your sync pairs as we approach the game’s one-and-a-half-year mark.

Update for the One-and-a-Half-Year Mark

Next, we’d like to tell you about two major additions that are coming in the update for the one-and-a-half-year mark of the game.

Master Sync Pairs Debut

Master sync pairs are powerful sync pairs with exceptional capabilities. Each master sync pair has a master passive skill, so simply including a master sync pair on your team will strengthen it greatly. And if the sync pairs on your team share a particular theme, your team could become even stronger. We hope you look forward to the first master sync pair’s reveal!

Master sync pairs will appear in the new Master Fair, which is a special sync pair scout. As mentioned in a previous message, the offering rate for this scout will be different from that of normal Poké Fair Scouts.

Theme Skills Update

Several new themes will be added to the theme skills feature, which debuted last December. Some of the new themes to be added include “Pallet Town,” “Villain,” “Complicated Family,” “Sygna Suit,” “Body Builder,” and “Grown Woman.” New themes will be added to existing sync pairs, too, so we hope you’ll try out even more team combinations as you enjoy this feature.

We have several other surprises planned for the game’s one-and-a-half-year mark on February 25, 2021, so we hope you look forward to it.

Note: When you acquire Giovanni & Mewtwo via event missions for the second, third, fourth, or fifth time, their move level will increase accordingly even if the corresponding animation and details are not displayed.

Exchange Items

Exchange Items is currently under way to mark the start of Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow. If you no longer need to raise potential for Giovanni & Mewtwo, you can exchange Giovanni & Mewtwo’s Custom ★ Power-Ups that you get in the Prize Box for items such as 5★ Power-Ups.

Note: To exchange items for this event, go to the Exchange Items menu in the Shop, then look for the Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow section of the Event tab.

Including this event, all Egg Event areas will now be playable without using Stamina. Try obtaining lots of Eggs during the event period!

Note: Along with this change, all Egg Event areas will only drop Eggs as Completion Rewards and Battle Rewards, and will no longer drop Level-Up Manuals, Coins, or other rewards.
Note: First-time rewards will remain the same.
Note: Along with this change, Missions will now include “Hatch lots of Eggs” instead of “Complete any of the designated areas”, and the completion requirements will change. Exchange Sweets for Items!

You can earn sweets by completing battles. After collecting enough sweets, trade them for valuable items using the Exchange Items menu. There are various kinds of sweets, and the amount and types you can obtain will differ for each battle. Collect the sweets you need to get the particular items you’re looking for.

Special Area Info and Items

When you obtain Serena’s Letter or Dawn’s Letter, you’ll unlock the special area info for Serena’s Gift or Dawn’s Gift, respectively. Getting letters from Exchange Items will allow you meet Serena and Dawn!

Certain items, such as the Serena’s Letter obtainable in the Story Event: Baking Buddies, cannot be used for other purposes.

These items will remain in your stock even after the event ends. You can check them anytime by opening your Bag from the Poryphone menu and selecting Event Items.

Lineup Bonuses

You can earn bonus sweets if you have specific Sync Pairs in your lineup to battle in the areas in this event. The more of these sync pairs you place in your lineup, the more rewards you will obtain!

DeNA has announced changes to upcoming Egg Events after considerating feedback from Trainers.

Future Egg Events

Thank you to all Trainers who have given us feedback regarding Egg Events. After much consideration, we have decided to make the following changes to Egg Events to make them more enjoyable.

Details

• From now on, all Egg Event areas will now be playable without using Stamina.
• Along with this change, all Egg Event areas will only drop Eggs as Completion Rewards and Battle Rewards, and will no longer drop Level-Up Manuals, Coins, or other rewards. Thank you for your understanding. Note: First-time rewards will remain the same.
• The Missions will now include “Hatch lots of Eggs” instead of “Complete any of the designated areas”. Note: While Missions and completion requirements will change, the total number of Power-Ups and Berry Tarts obtainable from event missions will remain the same.

Pokémon Masters Update 2.5.0 is now out and new features and bug fixes have been added to the game including: the Sync Move voice-over for Dawn & Turtwig, fixed an issue with Auto-Incubate, fixed an issue with accuracy, and other minor bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.

Update Details

• Changed the Sync Move voice-over for Dawn & Turtwig.
• Fixed an issue in which attacking with the Move, Solar Beam while the Weather is Hail or a Sandstorm would cause damage to be taken from the Weather. Note: Damage from the Weather is still taken while the user is getting ready to attack after selecting Solar Beam.
• Fixed an issue in which Auto-Incubate does not work correctly under certain conditions. In conjunction with this fix, we will make some adjustments to the important information concerning the Eggcelerator Pass on January 28, 2021. Users who had a vaild Eggcelerator Pass while the issue was occurring will receive 300 Non-paid Gems starting January 28, 2021.
• Fixed an issue in which accuracy would not be properly calculated in the following situations.
• When a Sync Pair with raised accuracy attacks a Sync Pair that has lowered evasiveness and also has the Nimble Footed or Enlightenment Passive Skills, including those learned via Lucky Skill.
• When a Sync Pair with raised evasiveness is attacked by a Sync Pair that has lowered accuracy and also has the Mind’s Eye or Enlightenment Passive Skills, including those learned via Lucky Skill. As compensation for this issue, 300 non-paid gems have been sent to all players.
• Other minor bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.

Throughout the event period, you can challenge this event battle once a day. You can obtain the following 3 tickets at random from the event battles.

You can exchange the tickets you obtain for items. The Exchange Items menu has several useful items, such as 5★-Guaranteed Scout Tickets, Lucky Scrolls, and Lucky Cookies. A special battle featuring Happiny and Chansey will be available during the following time periods.

• Day 5: January 24, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. - January 25, 2021 at 9:59 p.m.
• Day 8: January 27, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. - January 28, 2021 at 9:59 p.m.

You can obtain the following rewards for completing this special battle.

Greetings, Trainers. We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters EX, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you. Today, we’ll tell you about updates leading up to the one-and-a-half-year mark of the game in late February and preview our plans for the two-year anniversary.

Updates Leading Up to the One-and-a-Half-Year Mark of the Game

A Hoenn Region Sync Pair Gets 6★ EX Unlocked
In conjunction with the Team Hoenn Unite! event, which will be under way on January 17, 2021, a Water-type sync pair from the Hoenn region will get 6★ EX unlocked.

Mallow & Tsareena Debut

Mallow & Tsareena will debut in the sync pair scout on January 20, 2021. At the same time, the Blissful Bonanza! will return. Rewards available for exchange from the Blissful Bonanza! will include 5★-Guaranteed Scout Tickets, lucky scrolls, and other items, so we hope you give this event a try.

Valentine’s Day Story Event

On January 28, 2021, a Valentine’s Day story event will begin. One of the sync pair scouts accompanying this event will feature Serena & Whimsicott in a Valentine’s Day outfit. Another sync pair in a Valentine’s Day outfit will appear as well, so we hope you look forward to their reveal! The new sync pairs in Valentine’s Day outfits will appear in this event giving out sweets, so it’s sure to be a special story.

Egg Event and Improvements to Egg Events
The Fighting-, Grass-, and Rock-Type Egg Event will begin on February 3, 2021. In this event, you’ll be able to get Eggs that can hatch Machop, Bellsprout, or Aerodactyl. Also, after taking players’ feedback and the state of the game into consideration, we decided that starting with this event, areas in Egg events will no longer require stamina. In addition to this, Egg events will no longer offer level-up manuals, coins, or other battle or completion rewards besides Eggs. We appreciate your understanding.

More information will be provided via an in-game notification to be sent at a later date. The Battle Villa will also open on February 3, 2021, so we hope you enjoy both of these opportunities.

Legendary Event: Lurking Shadow Returns
The Lurking Shadow legendary event will return on February 7, 2021. From this event on, Giovanni & Mewtwo’s Custom ★ Power-Ups will be obtainable from the prize box.

This event has been held a few times, so players who have already completed it will be able to get Custom ★ Power-Ups without having to complete the story again and can get them from the prize box instead of as completion rewards.

Run-Up to 1.5 Years Rally
As a sign of our appreciation for your continued support, we will begin a log-in bonus, mission bingo, and more as part of our Run-Up to 1.5 Years Rally starting on February 10, 2021. Be sure to log in and check it out.

Legendary Event: Give and Take
The new Give and Take legendary event will begin on February 10, 2021. In this event, the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal will appear. Each forms a sync pair with a Trainer who might be a little unexpected, so try to guess who their partners might be.

You’ll be able to add one sync pair from the event to your team. The other will appear in the sync pair scout. Just like with returning legendary events, from this event on, you can get 20 Custom ★ Power-Ups for the sync pair that joins your team—and raise their move level to 5★.

Update for the One-and-a-Half-Year Mark

This year, February 25, 2021 will mark one and a half years since the release of Pokémon Masters EX. We have many festivities prepared to celebrate the occasion in late February, and we’ll tell you about some of them today.

Present for the One-and-a-Half Year Mark
Just like with the winter holidays and New Year’s, we’ll be sending a present to all players to show our appreciation. Be sure to log in and collect it.

6★ EX Unlocked for Skyla and Korrina
The winner of last year’s 6★ EX Sync Pair Poll Rally, Skyla, as well as the third-place finisher, Korrina, will have 6★ EX unlocked. The second-place finisher, Barry, will get 6★ EX unlocked at a later date, so stay tuned.

Also, the 6★ EX Skyla Sync Pair Support Rally is now under way. From this rally, you can get the ★ Power-Ups necessary to raise Skyla & Swanna to 6★ EX, so don’t forget to log in every day and complete the missions.

New Type of Poké Fair Scout
A new type of Poké Fair Scout will debut, and this time it will feature a sync pair with unprecedented capabilities. Do note that the offering rate for this scout will be different from that of normal Poké Fair Scouts. Stay tuned for more details in our next message.

Sync Grid Update
Late February’s update will bring changes to improve the usability of the sync grid. We’ve received many requests for a feature that allows you to make multiple selections at once, and we’re pleased to be able to bring that feature and more to you with this update.

The development team has worked to ensure the quality of these new features. Please see the list below for the features that will be implemented with this update.

• A multiple-selection feature for the sync grid.
• A preset feature, which will allow you to save multiple grids with unlocked tiles to be applied right away.
• A feature that will allow co-op sync orbs to be used without converting them to sync orbs.
• Coin-free sync grid resetting.
• A feature to reset tiles individually.
• An additional display for tiles that have move level requirements.
• Pinch-to-zoom functionality.

Plans for the Two-Year Anniversary

We’d like to give you a sneak preview of some of our planned updates for the game’s two-year anniversary.

Additional Chances to Team Up with Sync Pairs
Similar to legendary events, we’d like to add more chances for you to team up with sync pairs just by playing the game.

The Main Story’s Conclusion and a New Story’s Beginning
The current main story will reach its conclusion at the two-year anniversary. Moving forward, we’ll be updating the main story about once every one to two months, so we hope you enjoy how the story unfolds.

After the main story is completed, a new story unique to Pokémon Masters EX will begin—and with a new format. More details on this will be available at a later date. We’re working hard to ensure this will be something all players can enjoy, so we hope you look forward to it.

Dynamax in Development
Finally, for the two-year anniversary, we are working to bring you battles that have Dynamax Pokémon. With this feature, we hope to provide a new way for players to enjoy battles. More details will be available at a later date, so stay tuned.
