RJ Palmer is a Concept Artist, Illustrator and Paleoartist. From 2016 to 2017, he worked in the art department as a concept artist under production designer Nigel Phelps and director Rob Letterman. The Detective Pikachu movie's realistic Pokémon designs were inspired by fan artwork from RJ Palmer, whose online illustrations impressed the production team so much that he was hired as a concept artist for the movie.
