Marley is a trainer that the player, Lucas or Dawn, meets while traveling through Route 224. She asks for the player's help to get to the end of the route, as she has a fondness for Shaymin and wants to inspect the Gratitude Tablet. She is one of little words. Marley may be the descendant of Mai, but it has not been confirmed.

Pokémon the Series

While walking in a forest near Sunyshore, Marley encountered a Shaymin that Team Rocket was attempting to catch and give to the boss. She decided to protect it from them and managed to hide them by laying in a boat and floating down stream.

She meets Ash and his friends and they help her out of the boat. After stopping to feed their Pokémon, she reveals that she was hiding Shaymin. Brock realizes Shaymin is injured and gives it some berries. Marley explains that she was being chased by Team Rocket who shows up again and attempts to capture Shaymin again.

With the help of Ash and friends, Marley manages to get Shaymin to a field of Gracidea Flowers and it transforms into Sky Forme Shaymin and defeats Team Rocket. In the field, a bunch of other Shaymin reveal themselves after Team Rocket leaves.
