Katrina met Ash as he was training for the Pokémon League. Katrina quickly challenged him to a battle but Jessie, James and Meowth interrupted the battle before it even began with an attempt to steal Pikachu and Katrina's Raichu. Katrina then defeated Jessie, James and Meowth with her Raichu.

Cleavon saw the results of Katrina's battle with Team Rocket and decided to offer Raichu the chance to audition for a role for his new film. Her Raichu made it through the initial dancing round of the audition but it walked off stage after it saw Wigglytuff attack some off the auditionees.
