POKÉMON BLACK VERSION 2 AND POKÉMON WHITE VERSION 2 RETURN TO THE UNOVA REGION FOR NEW ADVENTURES

Pokémon Returns to Hand-Held Nintendo Systems with New Features and an Original Storyline

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 4, 2012 – What's black and white and packed with new features that portable gaming fans will love? Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, both launching Oct. 7 for the Nintendo DS family of hand-held systems (also playable in 2D on Nintendo 3DS systems), deliver a wealth of new options and story elements that experienced Pokémon fans and newcomers alike can instantly enjoy. Revisiting the imaginative Unova two years after the events of 2011's Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, these games invite players to meet old friends and make new ones as they quest to face down rival Gym Leaders, survive heated turn-based battles and collect as many Pokémon as possible. The ability to make your own Pokémon movies, connect with other players in new ways and enjoy a new storyline add even more fun to the mix.

In Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, players take on the role of a Pokémon Trainer who must explore new areas of the Unova region two years after the events of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version. This marks the first time in the history of the core Pokémon video game series that storylines have continued from one game release to another. The characters and environments in Unova have undergone extraordinary changes, from the rise of new Gym Leaders to a new Unova Challenge area where players can level up their Pokémon more easily than ever before. A newly upgraded Pokédex also makes it simpler to find data and track Pokémon – including new forms of Legendary Pokémon.

"The amount of new features and content in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 is remarkable," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Even fans who spent countless hours battling their way through the Unova region in the previous games will find plenty of surprises, and it's an experience found only on Nintendo hand-held systems."

Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 introduce a new Medal System that rewards players for reaching certain in-game milestones, such as taking a certain number of steps, hatching Egg and using C-Gear to connect with friends. There are more than 250 unique medals to collect, giving players more goals to achieve even after they have completed the game's main storyline. Players who have completed the main game can also enjoy additional content through the Key System, which unlocks additional Unova Challenge areas for players to take on, and offers detailed customization options for advanced players. For example, players who have gained access to the Key System can adjust the difficulty of the Pokémon belonging to Trainers they encounter in the field, making them stronger or weaker.

As players work to uncover the mystery behind Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, they'll encounter new areas. Join Avenue is a new location that works like a virtual shopping mall where players can browse and buy a wide selection of in-game items – from plants and berries to fossils that can be turned into living Pokémon. When players connect wirelessly with others, they're rewarded with more shops on Join Avenue and more choices for enhancing their Pokémon's abilities.

Other new features in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 include the new Pokémon World Tournament mode, which lets players battle Gym Leaders from regions in previous Pokémon video games. There's also Pokéstar Studios, a movie "studio" near Virbank where players can use a variety of scripts to make their own customized Pokémon movies and release them to an audience. Players who experienced Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version can use the Memory Link feature to sync their save files from those games and view an expanded storyline showing events that took place in Unova during the past two years.

Players with a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system also can connect to the Internet and purchase Pokémon Dream Radar from the Nintendo eShop. Also launching on Oct. 7 at a price of $2.99, Pokémon Dream Radar lets players use the built-in Nintendo 3DS camera and motion controls to catch Pokémon, which can then be transferred into Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2. The Pokédex 3D Pro application launches in the Nintendo eShop on Nov. 8 at a price of $14.99, allowing players to see more than 640 Pokémon in full 3D and offering information that Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 players will find especially useful.

The original Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version launched across North America in March 2011, selling more than 1 million copies on their first day of availability and launching a new generation of Pokémon. To date, the games have sold nearly 15 million units worldwide, ranking them among the best-selling games of all time for Nintendo DS family of systems.

REDMOND, Wash., June 28, 2012 – Dive into the world of Pokémon like never before when two new Nintendo DS Pokémon games and a downloadable Nintendo 3DS title arrive this October. The successors to the acclaimed Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games, Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 are set to launch for the Nintendo DS family of systems (playable on Nintendo 3DS in 2D mode) on Sunday, Oct. 7. Pokémon Dream Radar will also be available for purchase in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS on the same day. This downloadable Nintendo 3DS title allows Nintendo 3DS owners to catch their favorite Pokémon, including some very rare ones, via the Nintendo 3DS camera, motion control and augmented-reality technology, and transfer them into Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2.

"Fans will want to count the days until Oct. 7, when they'll not only get to play the successor to one of the biggest Pokémon adventures ever, but also expand their Pokémon experience to the Nintendo 3DS with Pokémon Dream Radar," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "No matter whether people are playing on Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS, they'll be getting an incredible Pokémon experience that expands upon the beloved Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games."

Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 bring players back to the Unova region two years after the events of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version. There are many new areas to discover in the region, and exciting changes to previously visited places for players to explore. One new area is Virbank City, where players will be able to visit Pokéstar Studios and star in their own movie with their favorite Pokémon. The movie a player creates premieres at the in-game theater, where the audience gives it a rating. Movies are rated based on script choices and battle move sequence, and players can even create sequels to existing movies. There are many movie genres to choose from, including romantic comedy and horror.

Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 will also give fans of the original games a chance to catch up with some familiar friends. In this game, Cheren and Bianca return two years after the events of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, and a lot has changed. Bianca is now the assistant to Professor Juniper, helping her with Pokémon research. Cheren is now a Gym Leader and a teacher at a school in Aspertia City – the starting location for this adventure.

In Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, players will also be able to catch some of the Pokémon from outside the Unova region, such as Eevee, Riolu, Tyranitar, Arcanine and Mareep, right from the start of the game. If they are playing on Nintendo 3DS, players can transfer Pokémon they have caught with Pokémon Dream Radar into their Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games (visible in 2D only). Pokémon Dream Radar lets players use several different features of the Nintendo 3DS system, including the Nintendo 3DS camera, motion control and augmented-reality technology, to discover and catch Pokémon. The game includes hard-to-find Pokémon such as the new Therian Formes of Legendary Pokémon Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.

Additionally, players can learn all about their favorite Pokémon by purchasing Pokédex 3D Pro from the Nintendo eShop. This enhanced and upgraded version of the original Pokédex 3D includes detailed information about every known Pokémon featured in the history of the Pokémon video game series.

Pokémon Conquest for Nintendo DS set to launch on 27th July – new features revealed

27th June 2012 - A creative new entry in the Pokémon family of video games delivers a new way for fans to enjoy this legendary series on the Nintendo DS family of systems. Pokémon Conquest, set to launch in the UK on 27th July 2012, offers a fun new way to play Pokémon in a unique world called Ransei that is filled with adventure. Developed by TECMO KOEI GAMES Co., Ltd., the 2D game can also be played on the Nintendo 3DS system.

In Pokémon Conquest, players take on the role of a young Warlord who is linked with a Pokémon. Together, they must set out to recruit Warrior allies to strengthen their growing kingdom. Along their journey, players will encounter a variety of Pokémon, as well as Warriors and Warlords inspired by the Japanese feudal era. The game contains nearly 200 Pokémon, including many from the recent Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games.

As the battle unfolds in Pokémon Conquest, players must choose the correct Pokémon type to inflict maximum damage on their opponents. In the turn-based skirmishes, players choose different tactics for intense six-on-six battles, and battle conditions can change on every turn, keeping players on their toes in anticipation of what will happen next.

New features in the game for players to conquer include:

Story: To save the Ransei region from Nobunaga, a powerful Warlord who is trying to take over Ransei, players must conquer different kingdoms to strengthen and grow their own kingdom. There are 17 kingdoms in total to conquer. Conquering all 17 kingdoms and ultimately uniting the kingdom will awaken the Legendary Pokémon and save the land from destruction. Story mode is organised by episodes - players unlock episodes as they progress and each episode features a different playable Warlord and victory conditions.

Army Mechanics: Players can grow their army by recruiting defeated Warlords and their Pokémon. After a kingdom is conquered, players will also have access to the kingdom facilities such as training grounds, shops to buy items and mines for money. Players can also strengthen their army by linking with Pokémon. Warlords can have various linked Pokémon and switch between them before battle to strategically prepare for the type of battle they are about to engage in.

Battle Mechanics: Players will encounter a wide range of battlefields as they progress through the game. Each of the 17 kingdoms has a different type-themed battlefield. For example, the kingdom of Ignis is fire-themed and has lava flows, lava beds and fire spouts for players to battle around. Strategically using water-type Pokémon to navigate through this battlefield will help players conquer this kingdom. Additionally, players can use the kingdom training grounds to train their army or find wild Pokémon and link with them. After battling with a Warlord, the game automatically registers them. Using the built-in local wireless connection on the Nintendo DS, players can battle with friends who also own the game with their registered armies.

Warlords and Pokémon: Each Warlord has a special ability that can change the tide of battle. For example, Warlord Oichi has the ability to heal all the Pokémon in your army. Warlords also have types much like Pokémon. This will determine how well they link to particular Pokémon. Some Warlords will have the ability to choose from several different kinds of Pokémon to link with.

Pokémon Conquest will be in shops from July 27th, for Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS (in 2D).
