Eight new Pokémon Utility Hole Covers, or PokéLids (Pokéfuta ポケふた) were unveiled for Okinawa Prefecture. The eight new manholes depict various Pokémon, including the legendary Pokémon Kyogre and will be installed throughout the prefecture in February and March 2022.

Each PokéLids is an original design and each is unique with the aim of promoting the appeal of Pokémon and each region they are installed in throughout Japan.

The PokéLids that are installed will gradually become PokéStops for the location-based game Pokémon GO for smartphones.

Today, three new Pokémon Utility Hole Covers, or PokéLids (Pokéfuta ポケふた) were unveiled in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture. The three new manholes depict Eleboo and Hoshigarisu, Rakurai, Iwapalace, and Voltolos, based on images of various landscapes in Utsunomiya City, and will be installed in the city. The PokéLids will be the first ones to be installed in Tochigi Prefecture. Pictures from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

The four new PokéLids feature eight different Pokémon including: Galarian Kamonegi, Tairetsu, Florges and Hassboh. The lids are based on images of various landscapes in Katori City. Pictures from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Today, eight new Pokémon Utility Hole Covers, or PokéLids (Pokéfuta ポケふた) were unveiled at the Hokkaido Government Office. The eight new PokéLids feature Rokon and Aloan Rokon of the Hokkaido promotional team as well as depicting the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia. The lids are based on images of various landscapes in Hokkaido. These new lids will be installed in Asahikawa, Kushiro, Obihiro, Abashiri, Akaigawa, Higashikawa, Shari, and Erimo. Including the ones announced this time, there are now a total of 34 PokéLids in Hokkaido. Pictures from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

The five new PokéLids depict: Coil, Giaru, Wanpachi, Kucheat, and the legendary Pokémon Raikou as well as more Pokémon and are based on images of various landscapes in Higashiosaka City. They will be installed in the city and this is the first time that PokéLids have been installed in Osaka Prefecture. Pictures from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

PokéLids x The Charm of Machida, Tokyo (ポケふた×東京都町田市の魅力) is an online stream with the theme of A town with PokéLids. What kind of city is it? (“ポケふた”のあるまち。まちだってどんなまちだ?) and it will be broadcast live on YouTube on October 17th, 2021.

There will be invited guests who are related to Pokémon and Machida City and they will live-stream the program that highlights the charm of the area where PokéLids are installed, including Machida City, through VTRs and quizzes. Using the chat function of YouTube, they will also introduce "recommended to see in the city" information to viewers. The guests and details of the event will be announced as soon as they are decided.

How to watch: Live streaming on YouTube via the Machida City Official Video Channel account (free of charge)
No advance registration is required. The URL will be posted on the Machida City website and SNS when the broadcast date is near.

Machida City is also celebrating the 1-Year anniversary of PokéLids being installed in the city on August 21st, 2021. They are looking for "recommended photos" of the city, such as favorite places to visit while touring around the PokéLids, local gourmet foods to eat, and people who are the talk of the town. The submitted photos will be introduced on the online program, and the three best recommendation will receive prizes unique to Machida City.

Finally, over 200 lids! On August 11th, 2021, three new Pokémon Utility Hole Covers, or PokéLids (Pokéfuta ポケふた) were unveiled in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, one featuring the legendary Pokémon Lugia! Five different Pokémon are showcased including: Lugia, Bayleaf, Frefuwan, Parshen, and Tritodon! The total installed PokéLids nationwide in Japan has surpassed 200, bringing the total to 201. They feature imagery drawn from the various landscapes in Kurashiki City and will be installed in the city. The PokéLids will be the first of its kind to be installed in Okayama Prefecture.
