At the start of Season 3 for Rating Battles, the Pokémon Global Link website added Rating Battle Pokémon Ranking statistics for each Season. The top 12 Pokémon are listed for: All matches, Single, Double, Triple, Rotation and Special Battles. Clicking on each Pokémon lists: The top moves used by that Pokémon, its Ability, the Nature, the Item held and the Top 10 Pokémon entered together with that Pokémon.

The Japanese Pokémon Global Link website announced that for 3 minutes between 14:43 and 14:46 on Wednesday February 12th, 2014, the Nintendo Network service had a system failure which caused Rating Battles to be logged improperly.

An investigation concluded that 55 matches and 110 players were affected during this time period. For those of affected, a personal apology addressing the issue will appear at the top of the page for those players when they login to the Pokémon Global Link website.

Pokémon Global Link Maintenance

It was also announced that the Pokémon Global Link will enter a maintenance period and will be unavailable for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y during the following times:

US: Monday, February 24, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. (EST) until Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 7:00 a.m.
UK: Monday, February 24, 2014, from 8:00 p.m. (GMT) until Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 12:00 p.m.

The official Pokémon Tretta website has revealed the 9th Tretta set entitled Renewal! The Pokémon Tretta Set 00 Harimaron! Fokko! Keromatsu! (あたらしくなった！ ザ・ポケモントレッタ 00弾 ハリマロン！フォッコ！ケロマツ！) will be release in February of 2014. This set debuts the new Fairy type Tretta's as well as a new Tretta color: "Neon Yellow" (ネオンイエロー) plus a number of Pokémon from the 6th generation make their first appearance. With the introduced of the Fairy type to the game, it adds a whole new level of complexity to the battles. A type chart for Pokémon Tretta has been released to help players keep track of how the different types interact. The 9th set features Xerneas (ゼルネアス) as the Legend Tretta.

Pokémon Tretta Lab Updates Discontinued

The official Tretta website also posted a notice that with the release of the 9th set, Pokémon Tretta Lab for Nintendo 3DS (ポケモントレッタラボ for ニンテンドー３ＤＳ) will no longer be updated and will not be compatible with the 9th and future sets. The application will still be available for purchase though and will still work with all previous sets up to set 8.

The Balloon Popping （バルーンポッピング） attraction is now available on the Pokémon Global Link website. The game features 3 different difficulty levels and requires players to have obtained at least 20 medals. We have created a page listing all the items players can obtain in the Balloon Popping attraction. We have also created a Medals page that lists information about all the medals players can obtain in Pokémon X and Y.

Holo Caster Updates

Our Holo Caster page has been updated with all the latest messages. In North America, the Rating Battle Season 2 featuring Double Battle competitions and Pokémon from the Kalos Pokédex is underway now. In Japan, a popularity poll message has been posted informing players they can choose their favorite Pokémon among the four mythical Pokémon, Jirachi, Manaphy, Darkrai and Victini that appear in the Pokémon movie that premieres July 19th, 2014.

Press Release - Announcing Bonuses for Existing PGL Players Who Play on the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL

September 20, 2013　The Pokémon Company - Thank you for your continued support of the Pokémon Global Link (PGL)! As we announced on July 1, 2013, the Pokémon Global Link site for Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, and Pokémon White Version 2 will begin to close down later this year. We are happy to reveal that bonuses will be offered to existing players when they log in to the new PGL with their current PGL account and register a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.

Exchange Dream Points for Poké Miles Automatically

Current PGL players will receive Poké Miles in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL depending on how many Dream Points they have.

Poké Miles can be used in the PokéMileage Club (launching soon) to play in attractions or to receive items in the shop. These items can then be sent back to Pokémon X or Pokémon Y games via Game Sync.

Poké Miles can also be accumulated by playing Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. These Poké Miles are sent to the PGL via Game Sync, and can then be used in the PokéMileage Club. More details about acquiring Poké Miles will be announced when at the opening of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL.


Your Dream Points are calculated by combining the Dream Points from all games registered to your current PGL account. To be specific, if you have Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, and Pokémon White Version 2 registered to your account, your Dream Points will be calculated by combining the total amount of Dream Points from each game.

The number of Poké Miles will be determined based on the combined total of Dream Points from all games registered to your current PGL account, and that number of Poké Miles will be given to copies of both Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that are registered to your account.

For example, if you qualified to receive 10,000 Poké Miles, you would receive 10,000 Poké Miles when you register a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y and another 10,000 Poké Miles if you registered the other version to your account as well, for a total of 20,000 Poké Miles.

Special Medal Awards

Based your accomplishments in the current PGL, you may be awarded special Medals in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL. You may also receive Medals depending on what you accomplish in your game and in the new PGL. These Medals are not available in the game, and can be checked only in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL.

The commemorative Medals awarded to existing PGL players will be exclusive to them and cannot be obtained through other means.


Global Battle Union (GBU) - Placed in the top 100 overall ranking in a GBU Season. The current season, Season 10, is excluded as it will not have a ranking.

Wi-Fi Competitions - Obtained a ranking in a Wi-Fi Competition (a different Medal depending on how many times)

All the numbers above are calculated by taking the combined total of the numbers from all games registered to your current PGL account. Details about the Medals you receive can be checked on the Medals page in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL. Medals you receive as a result of your accomplishments in the current PGL will be given to both Pokémon X and Pokémon Y if you register both to your account.

The official Japanese Pokémon Global Link website has announced that they are delaying the debut of the first Video Game tournament for Pokémon X and Y due to Pokémon game manipulation. They apologize for the delay and plan to hold the first tournament around New Years. To participate in the X and Y Test Competition, players must have participated and ranked in the recent 2013 Global Showdown. It was announced as a result of the test done during the 2013 Global Showdown, 1,558 participants were banned for using hacked Pokémon. The hope of the upcoming X and Y test is to strengthen the security checks so that everyone that participates in the X and Y tournaments can do so fairly.

先日公開させていただきました、Wi-Fi大会「2013 Global Showdown」のランキングと、発表時に合わせてご報告させていただきました、不正な方法で作られたポケモンの利用に関する対応措置について、ユーザーのみなさまよりご意見をいただきました。不正な行為で作られたポケモンと知らずに交換等で受け取り、本大会にて使用された方もいらっしゃったかと思います。

株式会社ポケモンでは、不正にデータ操作をしたり、作り方を広めたり、また不正なポケモンと分かっていながら使用することなどを断じて認めておりませんが、知らないまま使用された方につきましては、事前に回避方法の提示もなく、また事前の告知も無かった措置のため、悲しい思いをさせてしまったことをお詫び申し上げます。

今回のご報告は、後日開催予定の『ポケットモンスター X・Y』のインターネットテスト大会の開催についてのご案内です。

同テスト大会の参加権利を『2013 Global Showdown』でのランキングにランクインされたメンバーの方にご提供させていただくことを、事前より告知しておりましたが、別途、一定数の参加者を後日追加募集させていただきます。

Announcing the closure of the Pokémon Global Link Service for Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, and Pokémon White Version 2.

The Pokémon Global Link service for Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, and Pokémon White Version 2 will be closing completely on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

After the service is closed, all connection functionality with these video games will become unavailable. Please see the schedule below for more details.

The new Pokémon Global Link, which will link to the upcoming Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games, is expected to launch in October.

Players who have enjoyed the current Pokémon Global Link over the past few years will be able to carry over certain achievements and records to the new Pokémon Global Link for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, if they register for the new Pokémon Global Link using their existing user name.

In the near future, we will provide more details about this new Pokémon X and Pokémon Y version of the Pokémon Global Link, as well as our plans for the players who have enjoyed the current Pokémon Global Link until now.

The Pokémon Global Link first opened in Japan in September of 2010. We are very appreciative of everyone who has used the service over the last three years, and apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused by its closure.

The Japanese Pokémon Global Link Website has revealed that a Jirachi Poké Doll will be distributed to players on the Pokémon Dream World. The unlock password will be sent to members of the Daisuki Club on June 21st, 2013. The official English Pokémon website has also distributed the code to Pokémon Trainer Club Mailbox's for Manaphy and Jirachi. They will be available internationally: 2013-06-06 at 13:00 until 2013-07-04 with password: SJEOPWM. Our Dream World furnishing page has been updated and will also be updated when the password is revealed for Japan.
