Memento and Parting Shot Moves Temporarily Restricted from Battle Spot

We've discovered a bug that affects the moves Memento and Parting Shot during online battles using Battle Spot. While we fix this bug, Memento and Parting Shot moves will be prohibited in Free Battles, Rating Battles, and Online Tournaments in Battle Spot. If any of the Pokémon in your Battle Team has either of these moves, you won't be able to start a battle.

Work Together to Complete Global Missions

Band together with your fellow Trainers in global missions, a new feature of the Pokémon Global Link. Global missions are limited-time events where everyone tries to meet a collective goal. If the goal is met, everyone who participated gets a global mission reward! Don't worry if the goal isn't reached—there will still be a global mission participation prize for everyone who chipped in.

The first global mission will be for Trainers to catch as many Pokémon as they can to reach the collective goal. If everyone combines their efforts to catch 100 million Pokémon between November 29 and December 13, 2016, each participant will receive 1,000 Festival Coins as a reward. If the goal isn’t met, Trainers who contributed will still receive a participation prize of 100 Festival Coins. To be sure that your Pokémon bounty gets included in the final count, be sure to use Game Sync by December 13.

Good luck in completing the first global mission, and remember to check back at the Pokémon Global Link for more global missions coming soon.

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced new evolutions for the starters, gameplay features and a special demo for the upcoming Pokémon games Sun and Moon. High resolution images from the press release have been added to our Imageboard thread.

FIRST-PARTNER POKÉMON EVOLUTIONS, A SPECIAL DEMO VERSION AND MORE ANNOUNCED FOR POKÉMON SUN AND POKÉMON MOON!

New Pokémon, gameplay features, a Special Demo Version and Mega Evolution details revealed for upcoming Pokémon games.
The Pokémon Company International showcased a bunch of new information for the latest games in the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, coming to Europe on 23 November and available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

The evolved forms of the three first-partner Pokémon, Dartrix, Torracat and Brionne, were unveiled:

Dartrix Torracat Brionne
Thumbnail Thumbnail Thumbnail
Type: Grass-Flying Type: Fire Type: Water
The Blade Quill Pokémon Dartrix evolves from Rowlet. Dartrix attacks by throwing its knife-edged feathers, and it possesses extremely sharp senses. This Pokémon can detect opponents behind it and can throw feathers to strike them without even seeing them. This Pokémon cares a great deal about its appearance, grooming its feathers in every spare moment it has. The Fire Cat Pokémon Torracat evolves from Litten. This Pokémon produces flames for its attacks from a bell-like sac attached at the base of its throat. Torracat has a great love for battle and will attack relentlessly. Its mane can sense what is going on around it, even in the dark, and is able to detect the presence of hidden enemies. The Pop Star Pokémon Brionne evolves from Popplio. Brionne can dance in perfect time with others and is always cheery and positive. A very hard worker, Brionne learns dances by imitating other members of its colony and can sometimes even learn dances from humans. As this Pokémon dances, it creates balloons and slaps them into its target, making them explode and deal damage to its opponents.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, communication features are gathered together in the new Festival Plaza. Players will be able to see other people playing near them, or other players that are connected to the internet to battle or trade. By talking to people and listening to their requests in Festival Plaza, players can receive Festival Coins. There are cool stores to spend Festival Coins in, such as dye houses, goody shops (where rare items are sold) and even bouncy castles for Pokémon to train in. As players gather more Festival Coins, their Festival Plaza will rank up, yielding rewards and making more activities available. Players will even gain the ability to host missions, where multiple players can work together to try to achieve certain goals.

Another new feature that was announced was Poké Pelago. In Poké Pelago, Pokémon that are stored in a PC Box can explore a variety of isles, play on athletic equipment and enjoy other fun activities. If players send many Pokémon to Poké Pelago, they can develop more facilities on the isles and also develop new kinds of isles. As these isles are developed and increase in number, they will allow players to obtain items and even raise Pokémon.

Mega Evolution is making a return as well. Pokémon that were able to Mega Evolve in previous Pokémon games will also be able to Mega Evolve in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. The Mega Stones for Pokémon with the capability to Mega Evolve that appear in the Alola region may be received from characters in the game or obtained from special shops.

The Pokémon Global Link will be updated for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon and will be available from the games’ launch date. The updated Pokémon Global Link site will have new features, including new online competitions, global missions and more. More information and features on the upcoming site can be found here.

The Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Special Demo Version was also unveiled and will be available to download directly from Nintendo eShop or via the official Nintendo website starting from 18 October. The Special Demo Version introduces players to the Alola region and features Ash-Greninja, the Pokémon that appears alongside the hero Ash in the animated TV series Pokémon the Series: XYZ. Players will be able to transfer their Ash-Greninja from the Special Demo Version to their full version of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon once the game launches on 23 November.

Description
The 2016 International Challenge March gave players even more opportunities to fine-tune their teams for Video Game Championship Series events. Players could test their best strategies against other tough competitors in preparation for their next big live tournament. The top finishers were eligible to earn Championship Points as progress toward an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships in August 2016.

All battles were played in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Players could bring in Pokémon from earlier games via Poké Transporter. All Pokémon above Lv. 50 were set to Lv. 50 for the duration of the match.

The competition used the Double Battles format and players had to register 6 of their level 1–100 Pokémon to their Battle Box. Pokémon automatically became Level 50 during battles. A 15-minute time limit for each match was automatically enforced in-game, beginning at the start of each battle. If the outcome had not been determined when the time limit expired, the game automatically applied tiebreakers to determine a winner. At the beginning of each battle, players had 90 seconds to select their Pokémon to battle with. At the beginning of each turn, players had 45 seconds to select a move or change Pokémon in battle. If a player had not made his or her selections at the end of this period, the game automatically made selections for the player. Players could battle up to 15 games per day of the competition. Any unplayed games would carry over to the following day.

The Summer 15 Shiny Rayquaza that was distributed in Singapore from May 5th, 2015 until July 31st, 2015 via serial codes has been banned from official Video Game tournaments and events. The official Japanese Pokémon Global Link website made the announcement on January 21st, 2016 but it had previously been noticed that it couldn't be traded over the Internet. The single quote in the OT before 15 triggers the hack check system. The ban does not affect other distributed event Rayquaza's from participating in official events though. Despite being distributed in Singapore, Japanese or North American region copies of X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire could obtain it. Further details on this Shiny Rayquaza are available in our Event Pokémon Database.
