Encounter Musharna, Lilligant, Shiny Clefable, and More in Max Raid Battles

Celebrate the seasonal equinox in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield with Pokémon that evolved with Moon Stones and Sun Stones.

September's seasonal equinox is almost upon us, Trainers. This day that grants us equal parts daylight and darkness is being commemorated in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield with a Max Raid Battle event. From Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Sunday, September 20, 2020, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, you will encounter raids featuring Pokémon that evolved from the use of either a Moon Stone or a Sun Stone.

During the event period, be on the lookout for more frequent raid encounters with Moon Stone–centric Pokémon—like Clefable, Wigglytuff, and Musharna—and Sun Stone–evolved Pokémon—like Bellossom, Whimsicott, and Lilligant. If you're extremely lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Clefable.

To encounter these Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle, you'll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet through Y-Comm or by selecting Mystery Gift in the X menu, then selecting Get the Wild Area News. After that, whenever you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start a Max Raid Battle with a Dynamax Pokémon.

Mega Evolve a Beedrill and Use It in Battle to Help Unlock Mega Houndoom

Celebrate the debut of Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO with a weeklong event focused on Bug types, battles, and raids!

Mega Evolution has come to Pokémon GO, and you can hone your battle skills with your Mega-Evolved Pokémon during a special weeklong event. From Friday, September 11, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. to Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. local time, take part in Gym battles, Team GO Rocket battles, and Trainer Battles (excluding GO Battle League battles). If Trainers win 275 million of these battles before the event ends globally, they'll unlock Mega Raids featuring Mega Houndoom!

During the week, you'll also be able to enjoy a number of other bonuses. To start, the following Bug-type Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild: Caterpie, Weedle, Paras, Venonat, Scyther, Pinsir, Ledyba, Spinarak, Wurmple, Kricketot, and Burmy. If you're lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Ledyba!

More Bug-type encounters aren't all you can look forward to—there will also be raid- and battle-focused Timed Research available, and event-exclusive Field Research tasks can reward you with Mega Energy for your Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, or Beedrill! Remember that when you use Mega Beedrill in battles (excluding Raid Battles) during the event period, it'll receive a temporary CP boost, making it even more of a force to be reckoned with.

Finally, during this time, Pokémon that are weak to Bug-type attacks and Flying-type attacks will be appearing more often in raids. Team GO Rocket will also be using different Shadow Pokémon than before, so be sure to Mega Evolve Beedrill before you take it into battle!

Have fun catching Bug-type Pokémon and battling with Mega Beedrill during this event, Trainers!
