The giveaway will take place in Canada on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 from 11am until 1pm while in the United States it will take place on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 from 1pm until 3pm.

Japanese retailers have revealed the sell sheets for the upcoming TCG Strengthening Set Shining Legends (ひかる伝説) which will be released in Japan on July 15th, 2017. Booster packs will contain 6 cards, one of which will be a holo card and will cost 230 yen plus tax. The set will have over 72 cards.


A Rotom Dex Collection File (Mini Card File ミニカードファイル　ロトム図鑑) will also be released on July 15th, 2017 for 477 yen plus tax. The binder can hold 104 cards.

The Pokémon Company International announced the second English TCG Expansion for Sun and Moon called Guardians Rising on March 21st, 2017 and it was released on May 5th, 2017.

The official Japanese Pokémon website announced that there will be Kiteruguma themed events and presents distributed as part of the Sparkling Spring Festival Campaign (ピカピカ春祭りキャンペーン) from April 15th, 2017 to May 7th, 2017 at the participating Pokémon Centers and Stores in Japan. As part of the campaign, there will be a Kiteruguma Event Pokémon Distribution, a Kiteruguma Promo Card Present, Kiteruguma will visit the Pokémon Centers and Stores across the nation and there will be a battle event for the games as well. Pokémon Eggs were previously distributed as part of the Sparkling Spring Festival Campaign 2017.

From April 15th, 2017 to May 7th, 2017, players of Pokémon Sun and Moon will be able to receive a Kiteruguma. Full details have yet to be revealed.

From Saturday, April 15th, 2017, Pokémon Center and Pokémon Stores across Japan will be giving out the Kiteruguma 058/SM-P card as a gift at the cash register for customers visiting any participating location while supplies last. 1 promotional card per person will be given out but people can also receive the promo card on orders from the Pokémon Center Online. The finalized box art for the Pokémon Card Game Sun and Moon 30-Card Battle Deck Set Satoshi VS Rocket Gang (ポケモンカードゲーム サン&ムーン 30枚デッキ対戦セット 「サトシVSロケット団」) has been revealed. The Pocket Monsters Sun and Moon anime tie-in TCG set features the artwork of: Satoshi, Pikachu, Nyarth, Musashi, Kojiro, Sonansu, Kapu-Kokeko, Māmane's Togedemaru, Kiteruguma, Musashi's Mimikkyu and Satoshi's Mokuroh on the box's cover.


The set will be released in Japan on April 21st, 2017 for the suggested retail price of 1,782 yen. It will include a Satoshi's Pikachu GX card, a Rocket Gang Mimikkyu GX card and a Rotom Dex coin.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced the Kapu-Kokeko Campaign (カプ・コケコキャンペーン) will be held starting on March 17th, 2017 in Japan. Kapu-Kokeko related products and promo presents will be available throughout the campaign. Kapu-Kokeko is a Pokémon that appears in the Nintendo 3DS games Pocket Monsters Sun and Moon as well as the TV anime series. It is known as the Guardian deity of Melemele Island.

Alternate-Colored Kapu-Kokeko Event Pokémon Distribution

From March 17th, 2017 until April 9th, 2017, players of Pocket Monsters Sun and Moon will be able to obtain a serial code to get an Alternate-Colored Kapu-Kokeko. Kapu-Kokeko normally has a yellow appearance but this special Black Alternate-Colored Kapu-Kokeko cannot be obtained in regular gameplay. The serial code can be used from March 17th, 2017 until May 31st, 2017.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced the full details for Pikachu's Easter - Sparkling Spring Festival Campaign (ピカピカ春祭りキャンペーン) which will take place from March 18th, 2017 until April 9th, 2017 at the Pokémon Centers and Stores in Japan. As part of the campaign, new cute spring themed goods will be released and there will be battle events for the games as well.

The official Pokémon website has announced that the North American International Championships will take place June 30th, 2017 to July 2nd, 2017 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. It also announced that the 2017 Pokémon World Championships will take place from August 18th, 2017 to August 20th, 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

Start preparing for two of the largest Pokémon tournaments of the year: the North American International Championships and the Pokémon World Championships!

The inaugural 2017 North American International Championships will take place June 30–July 2 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, the longtime home of the US National Championships. There are no residency restrictions for the North American International Championships—the event is open to all Pokémon TCG and video game players from around the world. In addition to the exciting prizes for Pokémon International Championships, this is the last chance to earn significant Championship Points on the way to a World Championships invitation.

Then, on August 18–20, the top players from around the globe will converge on the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, to battle at the 2017 Pokémon World Championships. Only the Pokémon TCG and video game Trainers who battled at Championship Series events throughout the season and managed to earn enough Championship Points will qualify for this prestigious competition. Competitors will be battling for the title of World Champion and a share of over $500,000 in prizes!

Pokkén Tournament players will also have the chance to show off their fighting skills at the Pokémon World Championships. On Friday, participants in the Last Chance Qualifier tournament will battle for the remaining seats in Pokkén Tournament World Championships. Then, the 2017 Pokkén Tournament World Championships will take place on Saturday, August 19, finishing with the grand finals on Saturday night, where the prize pool will be $20,000. Players will be competing using the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament.

Opportunities are running short to earn an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships, so be sure to give it your all as we draw closer to the main event in August.

It was also revealed that a new line of Pokémon Gallery Figures will be heading exclusively to the United States Pokémon Center website on Pokémon Day. Pokémon fans will definitely want to take a look at the new Gallery Figures collection coming to the Pokémon Center on Pokémon Day, February 27. These high-quality figures were created for the Pokémon Center in the United States, meaning this is the first time they have ever been available anywhere in the world.

The first four Gallery Figures depict some well-known Pokémon as they perform an attack: Mew using Psychic, Eevee using Swift, Magikarp using Splash, and Pikachu using its iconic Thunderbolt attack. Each figure is mounted on the same size base, making it easy to put them on display. Plus, this is only the first set of Gallery Figures planned for launch in the Pokémon Center—check back throughout the year for details on upcoming collectibles.

The Japanese retail sell sheets for the third Sun and Moon set have been revealed. It is called: Did You See the Fighting Rainbow? (闘う虹を見たか) / The Light Consuming Darkness (光を喰らう闇). The set will be released on June 16th, 2017 and will feature at least 51 cards. Booster packs will sell for 150yen plus tax and have 5 cards.
