Fumuroya will launch Pochama Bowls filled with the charm of Pochama, who has been attracting attention for its Project Pochama activities, at Pokémon Centers nationwide in Japan (excluding the Pokémon Center Shibuya) and the Fumuroya Online Shop on Saturday, February 5th, 2022.

Background

Since the Edo period, Kanazawa has been a major producer of a variety of fu known as Kaga-fu (加賀麩). Fu, or wheat flour gluten, is a traditional Japanese food. There are various types of fu, such as the flower-shaped Irodori-fu, and the wheel-shaped kuruma-fu. It is generally used in simmered dishes.

Fumuroya has been manufacturing and selling Kaga-fu since its establishment in 1865. Based on their desire to pass on the culture of Kaga-fu to future generations, they have decided to release a new product, the Pochama Bowl, in conjunction with the Pocha Marché event held at some Pokémon Center stores and the official Pokémon Store Online.

On February 11th, 2022, Mascot POKÉMON TRAINERS from Pokémon Sword and Shield will appear at the Pokémon Center! The mascots this time are: Dande, Marie, Beat, Yarrow, Rurina, Kabu, Saito, Onion, Makuwa, Melon, and Kibana. Attach them to your bag, or collect your favorite trainers' mascots and have fun! The Pokémon Center Online will start selling them from 10:00 a.m. on February 9th, 2022!

The art book Daniel Arsham's Pokédex (ダニエル・アーシャムのポケモン図鑑) will be released on February 4th, 2022. Daniel Arsham, a contemporary artist who has garnered worldwide attention for his collaborations with high-end brands, has created art works using Pokémon as the theme. Arsham's version of the Pokédex was born, containing more than 90 works from the series.


The "Arsham x Pokémon" art project is the topic of the exhibition A Ripple in Time, which will be held at five locations in Tokyo in early February 2022. A collection of artworks documenting the entire project will be released at bookstores nationwide, online, at the Pokémon Center, and at three NANZUKA galleries.

Interviews with Daniel Arsham (left) and director Kunihiko Yuyama (right), who has been involved in the Pokémon TV animation series, are available in both English and Japanese.
