The Pokémon Scrap 2016 (ポケモンスクラップ2016) campaign has been revealed and starting on February 1st, 2016, specially marked merchandise have Pokémon Scraps enclosed in them and will be available at participating stores in Japan. Players can get Pokémon for their video game depending on how many Pokémon Scrap are obtained! The Pokémon Scrap 2016 website will open on Friday, January 29th, 2016.

There are two different courses which people can registered scraps for! Depending on the course, the Pokémon and items that people can get are different! Players cam collect over 50 different Scrap Cards like Pikachu and Mewtwo.

Course A: From March 1st, 2016 until August 31st, 2016, participants can receive these four Pokémon:

  • Freezer (Hidden Ability)
  • Thunder (Hidden Ability)
  • Fire (Hidden Ability)

Course B: From April 28th, 2016 until August 31st, 2016, a follow-up campaign course will be available. Details of this course will be announced closer to its start date.

Throughout 2016 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Pokémon games, a Mythical Pokémon Distribution Event will take place each at participating merchants across North America. Players of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire are elegible to receive these Pokémon. As part of the Pokémon Center Halloween festivities, a Bakeccha will be distributed at all the Pokémon Center and Pokémon Store locations from October 10th, 2015 until November 1st, 2015. It will be available to players of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Full details of this Bakeccha were not announced.

Pokémon Center Halloween

The Pokémon Centers will be decorated for Halloween from October 10th, 2015 until November 1st, 2015 and the Pikachu mascot will be visiting locations dressed in a cloak. On the weekends and public holidays, customers will also be able to get a Pikachu Halloween version sun visor as a gift.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced a Pikachu distribution as part of the Dance? Great Pikachu Outbreak! (踊る?ピカチュウ大量発生チュウ!) festivities for 2015. The distribution is being promoted as An alternate-colored Pikachu that knows Teeter Dance (フラフラダンスを覚えた色違いのピカチュウ). Players of X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire are eligible to receive this event Pokémon. It will be distributed from August 8th, 2015 until August 16th, 2015 from 10:30 to 17:00 JST at the Landmark Plaza 1F - Garden Square in Yokohama, Japan.

The level 10 alternate-colored Pikachu knows the moves: Teeter Dance, Play Nice, Tail Whip and Nuzzle. It is holding the Persim Berry item.

As we reported in April of 2015, Pokémon Center Hiroshima (ポケモンセンターヒロシマ) will be the 9th Pokémon Center to open in Japan and it will have its Grand Opening on Friday June 26th, 2015. New details about the exclusive Koiking and alternate-colored Gyarados distributions and some of the exclusive merchandise have been announced by the official Pokémon website.

A Koiking and an alternate-colored Gyarados will be available for player of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire from June 26th, 2015 until August 31st, 2015 at all Pokémon Center and Pokémon Store locations. This will be the first event distribution for Pokémon Store locations. No specific details were revealed but will be announced closer to the opening date.

Patches for Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are now available to download off via the Nintendo eShop. The version 1.5 patch for X and Y as well as the version 1.4 patch for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire both officially state that: "Various bugs have been fixed to provide a smoother gaming experience." (ゲームを快適に遊んでいただけるよう、いくつかの問題を修正しました。) The patch is required to play in all official tournaments as well as any online play.

Players that purchase the Nintendo 3DS Pocket Monsters Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire Strategy Guide (닌텐도 3DS 소프트웨어「포켓몬스터 오메가루비·알파사파이어」속성 클리어가이드) in South Korea can get a serial code to unlock Keldeo. The book costs 9000won and can be purchased at supermarkets and bookstores nationwide. The book was release in late February 2015 and the Keldeo serial can be redeemed on Korean copies of ORAS from February 25th, 2015 until January 31st, 2016. Details of this Keldeo have been added to our Event Database.

Extreme Speed Jikguri

The official Korean Pokémon website updated with information on the Korean 2015 World Championship Qualifying Tournaments. To promote participation and visitors at the event, an Extreme Speed Jikguri is being distributed via a serial code. The code is: WCSK2015 and can be redeemed on Korean copies ORAS. Nintendo has released Nintendo 3DS firmware version 9.5.0-23. This patch fixes the web browser exploit that was being used to inject Pokémon into XY and ORAS as well as unlocking free items in Pokémon Shuffle. Users will need to update to the latest version to use the Nintendo eShop.

Main changes for version 9.5.0-23U:

Update released: March 2nd, 2015 - Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.
