The official Japanese Movie 17 website launched today and it revealed the titles of the 17th Movie and Movie short. The Cocoon of Destruction (破壊の繭) and Pikachu, What Kind of Keys are These? (ピカチュウ、これなんのカギ?) will premiere in Japanese theaters on July 19th, 2014. The website includes bio's on the characters from the XY anime, a brief story outline, posters and a brief trailer.

Introduction


The Pokémon Movies enter a New Dimension!

The all-new games, "Pocket Monsters X" and "Pocket Monsters Y", have been released simultaneously worldwide (*some regions exempt)

In addition, the Pocket Monsters TV anime has started a new series, "Pocket Monsters XY"

Satoshi and Pikachu have set off for the Kalos Region, the site of their new adventure! There, they will encounter new friends, new Pokémon, and a new form of evolution, "Mega Evolution"

The Pokémon movies are also evolving; into a new dimension! These Pokémon will make their appearance on the big screen as well, with "Pokémon the Movie XY", premiering Summer 2014!

A grand adventure for Satoshi and his friends will unfold in the feature film, "The Cocoon of Destruction"
Cute Pokémon will embark on a journey through a mysterious world in its co-feature, the movie short "Pikachu, What Kind of Keys are These?"

Nintendo has posted the Version 1.2 Update of Pokémon X and Y on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The fix encrypts Wi-Fi packets making it a lot harder for people to inspect and inject packets. The patch is 236 blocks and those that didn't download the Version 1.1 can directly upgrade to 1.2.

Pokémon Update Data v1.2

New update data (Version 1.2) for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y has been released in Nintendo eShop and replaces Version 1.1. This new version contains the fixes in both versions. All customers who own Pokémon X or Pokémon Y should download this update data, even if they have already downloaded Version 1.1.

  • Fixes the issue where moves which Pokémon learn while evolving with Wonder Trade are not appearing.
  • Fixes the issue where some users can't view the promotion video tagline in the Lumiose City event.

Today The Pokémon Company International released a new video showcasing the features and functionality of the Pokémon Bank, a new Nintendo 3DS downloadable software service for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y launching December 27.




With Pokémon Bank, players can:
  • Deposit, withdraw, and manage up to 3,000 Pokémon in private boxes online through an internet connection
  • Transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, including the downloadable versions, using one Nintendo 3DS system
  • Transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y using the Poké Transporter, a linked application received when you download Pokémon Bank.

Players who download Pokémon Bank and its linked application, Poké Transporter, between December 27, 2013 and January 31, 2014 will receive a complimentary trial pass within the application, which will let them experience the Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporters services at no charge for 30 days. After this time period, the Pokémon Bank service will cost £4.49/€4.99 per year.
Ghost (ゴースト) and Strike (ストライク) will be distributed to players of Pokémon X and Y in Japan at the 8 Pokémon Centers and the participating 45 Toys R Us locations as a Christmas Exchange (クリスマス交換会) event distribution. In the spirit of exchanging and giving during Christmas time, players can exchange one of their Pokémon in a trade to get either Ghost or Strike starting on December 21st, 2013 until December 26th, 2013.

Any caught Pokémon from Pokémon X and Y can be traded but easily caught Pokémon such as Horubee or Yayakoma are recommended as they are available early in the games. Players can then use the Player Search System (PSS) to trade their Pokémon with a store staff member.

The Ghost (ゴースト) players will receive will evolve into Gangar (ゲンガー) at the end of the trading process. Gangar is level 25, has the OT Christmas (クリスマス), has the Ability Levitate (ふゆう) and knows the following moves: Psychic (サイコキネシス), Confuse Ray (あやしいひかり), Sucker Punch (ふいうち) and Shadow Punch (シャドーパンチ).

Strike (ストライク) will be holding the Metal Coat item and it will evolve into Hassam (ハッサム) at the end of the trading process. Hassam is level 25, has the OT Christmas (クリスマス), has the Ability Technician (テクニシャン) and knows the following moves: Aerial Ace (つばめがえし), False Swipe (みねうち), Agility (こうそくいどう) and Fury Cutter (れんぞくぎり).

Players can then get the Mega Stones to Mega evolve both Gangar (ゲンガー) and Hassam (ハッサム) during battles.

Lucky Egg Serial Code

Players of Pokémon Black or White, Pokémon Black 2 or White 2, as well as Pokémon X and Y can also receive a serial code to get a Lucky Egg. Only serial code will be given per person and there is only a limited number of serial codes that will be distributed.

Commercial

During Pokémon Get TV 10, a commercial aired to announce the distribution at the Pokémon Centers.

Nintendo of America has finally announced the anticipated Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Nintendo 2DS bundles that are available in South Korea and Europe already. Below are the details from the Press Release.

Holiday shoppers that are looking to pick up a Nintendo 2DS system and either the Pokémon X or Pokémon Y video games are about to get a couple of new and affordable options. Starting on Dec. 6, Nintendo is offering two bundles featuring the system and the games:

• Target will offer an exclusive bundle that includes the Pokémon X game pre-installed on a red Nintendo 2DS system at a suggested retail price of $149.99.

• Toys"R"Us will offer an exclusive Pokémon Y bundle at stores nationwide and online at http://www.toysrus.com. The bundle will include a blue Nintendo 2DS system and the Pokémon Y game pre-loaded on an SD card at a suggested retail price of $149.99.

Both bundles will be available while supplies last.

The Nintendo 2DS system maintains many of the same hardware features as Nintendo 3DS, like touch-screen controls, StreetPass, online multiplayer functionality and the ability to download games in the Nintendo eShop. From November 1st, 2013 until supplies last, McDonalds Japan will be distributing their yearly Pokémon calendar. The Pokémon Calendar 2014 (ポケモンカレンダー2014) costs 350 yen each and can be purchased at participating McDonalds Restaurants throughout Japan. Inside the calendar are pictures of some of the new Pokémon from X and Y. In addition are 150 stickers and an alphabet page with a letter related Pokémon picture. Also included is a discount card that can be used until April 30th, 2014 for various McDonalds good such at their McFlurry or pancakes.

The Nintendo 3DS Pokémon XY Official Guide Book Complete Story Strategy Guide (ニンテンドー3DS ポケモンX・Y 公式ガイドブック 完全ストーリー攻略ガイド) is now available for purchase for compatible iOS and Android devices. The apps are region locked though but there is a free trial version for Android. The iOS version was released on November 22nd, 2013 and requires iOS 6.0 and 23.5MB. The Android version was released on November 29th, 2013 and requires Android 2.3.3 and up.

Wal-Mart in the United States has revealed that they will be selling copies of Pokémon X and Y that feature exclusive unlock codes to download Garchomp and Scizor. Those that purchase a copy of Pokémon X from Wal-Mart from November 28th, 2013 until June 30th, 2014 will be able to get an exclusive Garchomp. Those that purchase Pokémon Y from Wal-Mart during the same time period will be able to get an exclusive Scizor. Players should look for the specially marked copies that have the label's on the covers.

The format and rules for the 2014 Pokémon video game season have been announced and posted on the official Pokémon website.

New Updates:

  • Only legitimate versions of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y can be used in Play! Pokémon tournaments
  • Players may use Pokémon from the Central Kalos Pokédex from #001 to #150, Coastal Kalos Pokédex from #001 to #153, or Mountain Kalos Pokédex from #001 to #147.
  • Pokémon are allowed to Mega Evolve.
  • Pokémon above Level 50 are permitted, but they are auto-leveled down to 50 for the duration of battle
  • Kalos Native: Pokémon used in the Standard Format must be native to the Kalos region in Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. A native Pokémon is a Pokémon that is hatched or caught in Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. Pokémon that have been transferred to Pokémon X or Pokémon Y via Pokémon Bank or Poké Transporter are not native.

Nintendo of Korea has revealed that they will be releasing special Pokémon X and Y 2DS on December 7th, 2013. The WHITE X RED Nintendo 2DS Pokémon X Package (WHITE×RED 색상의 닌텐도 2DS 포켓몬스터 X 패키지) and the BLACK X BLUE Pokémon Nintendo 2DS Y Package (BLACK×BLUE 색상의 닌텐도 2DS 포켓몬스터 Y 패키지) will sell for 160,000 won each.

Pokémon THE ORIGIN (포켓몬스터 THE ORIGIN)

The official Korean Pokémon website also revealed that Pokémon THE ORIGIN (포켓몬스터 THE ORIGIN) will air in Korea in December of 2013. The airing dates have yet to be revealed but a website for the special is available that has an Introduction, Story, Cast, Characters and a Gallery.

Nymphia (님피아) Distribution

For those that pre-order tickets for the 16th Pocket Monsters movie in theaters in Korea, patrons will have the opportunity to get a level 10 Nymphia (님피아) for their copy of Pokémon X and Y. The OT is Eevee House (이브이하우스), its Ability is Cute Charm and it knows the moves, Disarming Voice and Baby-Doll Eyes. Further details about the Nymphia will be revealed on November 28th, 2013.
