The DVD for last years Pikachu short that was shown on ANA Airlines has been announced. Pikachu's Great Sparkling Search! (ピカチュウのキラキラだいそうさく！) was shown on ANA flights between August 1st, 2009 and August 29th, 2009. The DVD will be released in Japan on June 18th, 2010 and it will retail for 2500yen. The DVD will also include the recently aired DP169 episode: Pokémon Ranger! Heatran Rescue Mission!! (ポケモンレンジャー！ ヒードラン救出作戦！！). The DVD also comes with a bonus gift, a 600×900mm 'Special Leisure Sheet' (スペシャルレジャーシー) featuring Giza Mimi Pichu, Pikachu and Pochama.

Summer! Everyone is full of energy today. Pikachu and friends play with their beach ball! Pikachu and Pochama are chasing and diving in a river when they drift over and see a metropolis. Cartoon Network Australia will be airing the English dub of the latest Pocket Monsters movie, Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life this week. According the the schedule posted on the official website, it will air Friday November 6th at 6pm and Saturday November 7th at 10am local time.

A new website was launched on Monday November 2nd 2009. Pokemonarceus.com features: the trailer, the storyline, the legacy, the characters and downloads. The movie will air on Cartoon Network in the United States on Friday, November 20th. An English DVD is scheduled for release in the spring according to the website.

It has now also been confirmed that the Amazon.fr posting is indeed correct and 'Pokémon Arceus et le joyau de vie' will be available on DVD in France December 11th, 2009. This DVD release marks the first time that a dub version of any Pokémon movie has been available on DVD outside of Japan before its domestic DVD release. The Japanese DVD release of the 12th Pokémon movie is scheduled for release on December 18th, 2009, the week after the French DVD release.

Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl Special Selection - The Beginning of a New Adventure DVD's have been announced and will be available for purchase on September 25. The price including tax will be 3654yen and the catalog number is ZMBS-991. The DVD's will have a total running time of approximately 144 minutes.

The two DVD's in the set will contain the following episodes: Disk 1: Satoshi's Gym Battle History - DP18 Return to Kurogane Gym! Decisive Match with Rampard!!, DP37 Hakutai Gym! VS Natane!, and DP68 Tobari Gym! Lucario VS Buizel!!.

Both Viz's official website and Amazon.com both list the DVD box set will be released on July 29th. It was spotted by a couple of people today at Walmart and AnimeonDVD also changed their release date for this box set to June 24th.

Be sure to check out your local store to see if they have them in stock as all the online stores I checked still have it setup in their system as pre-order only.

Could the recent Shogakukan-Shueisha Prods. deal have been one of the reasons that the release date was drastically changed for this dvd set? It seems as though some changes might already be happening at Viz and Shogakukan. It's pretty obvious that these DVD don't take long to master, so they were probably ready anyways. With the announcement of the DP DVD's coming out later in the year, Viz probably wanted to get these DVD out as soon as possible so it didn't interfere with the sale of the DP DVD's.

It will be interesting to see if the second box set which was also announced recently will also get a release date change. Hopefully in the future they will give more notice of release date changes.

Pokémon Ranger to Umi no Oji: Manaphy is the fourth Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation movie and 9th of all Pokémon movies. The DVD is scheduled to be released in Japan on December 22nd, 2006 and will cost 3,980 yen. The catalog number is ZMBS-952.

Movie Synopsis:

Satoshi and Pikachu are lost in a wasteland and meet the star of the underwater Pokemon show, Hiromi. Hiromi is a descendant of a race of people who are able to communicate with the Water Pokemon, called the people of the water. They have a legend: somewhere in the oceans of the world is the Aksha temple of the ocean, and in it is hidden a treasure called the crown of the ocean. However, no one has ever seen it.
