Vivillon (Vi-vi-yon), the Scale Pokémon, is known for its many different patterns. Trainers can collect patterned Vivillon from all over the world by pinning Postcards received from Trainers, PokéStops, or Gyms in different regions. Pinning Postcards from eligible regions unlocks the Vivillon Collector medal and adds progress to sub-medals associated with the Postcard’s region of origin. *You can pin up to three of your own Postcards per day to make progress towards the medal.

The first sub-medal requires collecting three Postcards from a region associated with the Vivillon patterns. New Pokémon sizes have been discovered in Pokémon GO!

Time to break out the scales—Trainers have recently discovered XXS and XXL Pokémon!

Pokémon such as Poochyena, Mightyena, and Mawile have recently been observed in these sizes, and your Pokédex has been updated to start tracking the sizes of the Pokémon that you catch. We wonder if other Pokémon may have undiscovered sizes as well!

When you encounter an XXS or XXL Pokémon, you may notice that things look a little different.

Visible size variation!

XXL and XXS Pokémon are visually larger or smaller than their standard sizes when you observe them in an encounter or adventure with them as your buddy.

Sizes will now be tracked in the Pokédex

Once you catch at least three of any one Pokémon, your Pokédex will begin to showcase your records for the largest, smallest, heaviest, and lightest specimens that you have caught.

New celebratory message for breaking records!

Trainers who catch XXS or XXL Pokémon—or find smaller XS or XL-sized Pokémon than they caught previously—can enjoy a new celebratory message when they break their record. Trainers need to catch at least three of any particular Pokémon to set a record for that Pokémon.

For our most dedicated battlers, a pass to access battle-themed Timed Research will be available in the in-game shop at no cost once GO Battle League: Season of Light begins.

This Timed Research will keep track of your victories throughout the Season. Each research page will require 100 wins to complete, and doing so will reward you with a small amount of Stardust and items such as an Elite Fast TM (400 wins) and Elite Charged TM (500 wins). Keep at it throughout the Season to see how far you can get!
