The mysterious Pokémon, Gimmighoul!

A mysterious Pokémon suddenly showed up all over the world. Did you all see it?

It turns out that this Pokémon, seen hanging around Trainers who have picked up a suspicious coin, is Gimmighoul, who was originally discovered in the Paldea region!

Research conducted by Professor Willow and Jacq, a biology teacher from the Paldea region, confirms that Trainers have spotted Gimmighoul in its Roaming Form. Further, there’s another form in the Paldea region called Chest Form Gimmighoul.

With this update, Trainers will be able to navigate their sticker collection easier than ever before! Stickers will be grouped by category, helping you quickly find exactly the right sticker to attach to each Gift!

We hope that this feature makes navigating and sending stickers easier and more enjoyable, and that it leads to even more fun Gifts and shared memories!

Additional details

There are several new ways that Trainers will be able to navigate their sticker collection. When sending a Gift attached with a postcard, you’ll be able to tap “Add Sticker” to pull up the new sticker view. Stickers will be grouped into different categories: featured, recent, messages, Pokémon, characters, and miscellaneous.


Swiping up on the sticker sheet will show additional stickers in your collection. Trainers will be able to navigate through their collection by scrolling up and down, similar to navigating the Pokémon storage screen. Tapping on any of the listed categories will take you to those stickers—for example, the Messages tab will show you stickers that have text on them. Some categories, like the Pokémon tab, have subsections that allow you to further sort your stickers. Check out the screens below to see how you will be able to sort your Pokémon stickers by region!

Special sticker sale

To celebrate this update, we’ve made most of the stickers ever featured in Pokémon GO available for sale in the in-game shop! This opportunity will only last from Monday, October 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. to Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, so this is a good chance to get the stickers you missed in the past.

Zorua made it's Pokémon GO debut during the October 25th, 2022's Shuppet Spotlight Hour but unfortunately the event was bugged and all Zorua caught retained the stats such as the height, CP, and attacks of the Pokémon it originally took on the form of. The Zorua surprise will not occur for time zones after GMT+13.

Zorua Surprise Bugged for October 25th, 2022's Shuppet Spotlight Hour

Trainers, we are aware of a bug where Zorua, a Pokémon with a planned surprise encounter during October 25th’s Shuppet Spotlight Hour, retains stats such as the height, CP, and attacks of the Pokémon it originally took on the form of.

The Zorua surprise that occurred in time zones including and prior to GMT+13 will not occur in time zones after while we fix this. Shuppet Spotlight Hour will still occur.

Zorua already caught by Trainers will not be able to be Traded, sent to Pokémon HOME, or allowed in GO Battle League until this issue is resolved. Please stay tuned for further details. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
