GO Battle League: Season of Light is almost here! Arriving on the heels of the 2022 Pokémon World Championships, GO Battle League: Season of Light will feature the Psychic Cup, the Weather Cup, and the Halloween Cup: Ultra League Edition!
Several changes are coming to the GO Battle League this Season, which we’ve illuminated below. Both new Trainers and time-tested battlers should take a look!

GO Battle League: Season of Light start date, rank resets, and end-of-Season rewards

GO Battle League: Season of Light will start on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).

The following will occur at the beginning of the season.

• End-of-Season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
• Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
• Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

GO Battle League Timed Research Pass

For our most dedicated battlers, a pass to access battle-themed Timed Research will be available in the in-game shop at no cost once GO Battle League: Season of Light begins.

This Timed Research will keep track of your victories throughout the Season. Each research page will require 100 wins to complete, and doing so will reward you with a small amount of Stardust and items such as an Elite Fast TM (400 wins) and Elite Charged TM (500 wins). Keep at it throughout the Season to see how far you can get!

Avatar items and other rewards

Pikachu Libre avatar items will be rewarded to Trainers who reach Rank 3.


Trainers will be able to earn the following rewards for your avatar. They’re all inspired by Guzma, leader of Team Skull in Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, and Pokémon Ultra Moon!

• Ace rank: watch and bracelet
• Veteran rank: pants
• Expert rank: glasses
• Legend rank: shirt and pose

At rank 19, you’ll receive an Elite Charged TM, and you’ll also receive an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward.

Ultra League - Pokémon must be at or below 2,500 CP to enter.

Little Jungle Cup Remix

• Pokémon must be at or below 500 CP to enter.

• The three Pokémon most used by Trainers Ace rank and up in the last Little Jungle Cup will not be allowed in the Little Jungle Cup Remix.
• In addition, Salandit will not be allowed.

Get ready—Safari Zone: Goyang is happening from Friday, September 23, 2022, to Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the beautiful Ilsan Lake Park, and tickets are on sale now! This is the first Safari Zone event hosted in South Korea, and we couldn’t be more excited to explore Ilsan Lake Park and the city of Goyang with the Pokémon GO community!

A Timed Research code via the Pokémon GO Twitch stream

In addition to all the festivities planned in Pokémon GO and live at the ExCel London center, exclusive time-limited codes will be shared periodically in the Pokémon GO Twitch chat while the Pokémon GO World Championships stream is live! Start watching at any of the following times and keep an eye out for a code!

The Pokémon GO Twitch stream start times are below:

Team Building Timed Research

Trainers who redeem the code from the Twitch stream will obtain an exclusive Timed Research* that will provide Trainers with an introduction to battling plus a choice of Pokémon encounters for them to craft a competitive Great League team!

Trainers will have a choice between the following encounter rewards:


Team Option 1: Ariados, Pelipper, Galarian Stunfisk
Team Option 2: Skarmory , Swampert, Drapion
Team Option 3: Talonflame, Venusaur , Jellicent

: If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

How to obtain and redeem a code

• Look out for a code that’s shared via the Pokémon GO Twitch chat throughout the Pokémon GO World Championships streams.*
• Redeem the code quickly before it expires—refer to the help center article to learn more about how to redeem codes.

*These codes will only be redeemable for one hour after they are shared, so please try to redeem a code as quickly as possible. If you are not able to redeem one in time, there will be multiple opportunities to receive a code throughout the broadcast. The Timed Research is the same for all codes and can only be redeemed once.
