During the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, a brand new 500-Point Battle mode was announced for Pokémon UNITE. It will be available in the Spring of 2025 and further details will be announced in the upcoming months.

Standard Battle

  • 10-minute time limit
  • Team with most points wins
  • Players cannot see team scores
  • Points double after eight minutes
  • Defeating Zapdos immediately applies its effect to the opposing team's goal zones

500-Point Battle

  • No time limit
  • First to 500 points wins
  • Players can see team scores
  • Zapdos now travels to the opposing team's goal zones to apply its effects after it's defeated

Introducing Aeos Techology: Play can choose from a selection of buffs at different point thresholds.

New Pokémon plushies will be available at Pokémon Centers in Japan on Saturday, September 14th, 2024! The plushies will also be sold at the Pokémon World Championships 2024, which will be held in Hawaii, United States from Friday, August 16th, 2024 to Sunday, August 18th, 2024. The lineup includes three Pokémon: Amamaiko, Cuwawa, and Collecurei (Chest Form). Enjoy your adventures with these unique Pokémon plushies! The Pokémon Center Online will start selling them starting on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

At the Amazon.co.jp Pokémon Store, pre-orders will be starting on September 14th, 2024, and sales starting on September 21st, 2024, but due to the limited number of products available, they may be sold during the pre-order period.

Please note that the release of the products may be postponed or cancelled due to the situation in the production area. Please be aware of this beforehand.

ANA has collaborated with The Pokémon Company to create the world's first in-flight safety video featuring Pokémon. With this collaboration, they aim to provide excitement to their customers and provide an in-flight safety video that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The video will be shown on both the Pikachu Jet NH and the Eevee Jet NH aircrafts, starting on August 15th, 2024. The music in the videos was performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra. The English narrator is Peter Von Gomm.

The videos were proposed by ANA to Pokémon, and took about a year and a half to produce. It was unveiled at Haneda Airport on August 15th, 2024 to coincide with the departure ceremony for the team participating in the Pokémon World Championships 2024, which will be held in Honolulu from August 16th to 18th, 2024 and it is also the peak summer vacation period.

They also created a Disembarkation Video featuring Pokémon. In this collaboration video between ANA and The Pokémon Company, you'll see ANA staff at the airport witnessing Pikachu's journey. Come explore the airport with us and experience what it's like to travel with ANA!

Twitch Drops for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships were announced and players of Pokémon GO can get codes for exclusive Timed Research during the Twitch broadcast.

Timed Research Codes via the Pokémon GO Twitch Live Stream

In addition to the upcoming Pokémon GO worldwide event and the live festivities taking place in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, we’re excited to share that Trainers will have the opportunity to get up to two codes for exclusive Timed Research by watching 30 minutes of the Pokémon GO Twitch live stream on Days 1 and 2 of the Pokémon GO World Championships!

Tune in to any of our official Pokémon GO co-streamers to receive the third exclusive Timed Research for this year’s 2024 Pokémon World Championships, taking place in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.**

Trainers who watch any of the official Pokémon GO co-streams between Friday, August 16, at 9:00 a.m. HST and Monday, August 19, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. HST will receive a code that they can redeem for exclusive Timed Research.

2. Connect your Pokémon Trainer Club account to Twitch

Follow steps 1–3 on this FAQ page to link your Twitch account.

  1. If you don’t have a Pokémon Trainer Club account, sign up .

  3. Follow the steps here (rewards.pokemon.com) to log in with your Pokémon Trainer Club Account and link it with Twitch.

3. Watch the live stream

Be sure to catch the Pokémon GO World Championships live stream on Day 1, Day 2, or Day 3 for 30 minutes. (Please note that minimizing the stream will pause the Twitch Drop progress timer on Twitch.)

The Pokémon GO Twitch live stream dates are as follows.

  • Friday, August 16, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. HST and running until the end of the day’s rebroadcast.
  • Saturday, August 17, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. HST and running until the end of the day’s rebroadcast.
  • Sunday, August 18, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. HST and running until the end of the day’s rebroadcast.

Rebroadcasts will occur throughout the weekend outside of the above-listed live show times. If you miss the live broadcast, you can still follow these steps during a rebroadcast to get a code.

4. Claim your Twitch Drop

Once you’ve watched a stream for 30 minutes, a pop-up in Twitch chat will prompt you to claim your Twitch Drop. You may also claim your drop by visiting the Twitch Drops Inventory Page here.

5. Find your code

After you select Claim, go to rewards.pokemon.com and select View Inventory. Find the drop and select Show Code.* *These codes will be valid through August 26, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. UTC. Only one of each of the Timed Research codes can be claimed per account.

6. Redeem your code

Trainers who attend in person will be able to participate in a local Timed Research called the 2024 Pokémon World Championships Scavenger Hunt. This special Timed Research focuses on the various Pokémon activities around the venue.

Completing this Timed Research will award Trainers with an exclusive World Championships–themed T-Shirt for their avatar.

Turn Up Your Worlds Experience with Twitch Drops

The 2024 World Championships is set up to be the most exciting Pokémon event of the year, and watching the live stream just got even more rewarding. The Pokémon TCG, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE live streams, as well as partnered co-streams, will feature Twitch Drops—digital rewards that you can obtain on Twitch by watching the live stream for a specific amount of time. You can also earn two digital booster packs from the latest Pokémon TCG expansion, Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable, if you watch for at least 30 minutes. These in-game items are only available for a limited time.

Pokémon GO

Tune in to Twitch.tv/PokemonGO for at least 30 minutes on August 16 to earn unique Timed Research that will award you an encounter with Sableye! Sableye was a pivotal part of ItsAXN’s championship-winning team in the 2023 Pokémon GO World Championships. This Timed Research features three different team options and various rewards. See the potential teams below.

Pokémon UNITE

Watching the stream for at least an hour can net you a Unite License Selection Box, which allows you to add one Unite license to your collection. Unite licenses unlock the use of the corresponding Pokémon in Unite Battles on Aeos Island, so you won’t want to miss it. These items are only available while supplies last.

Co-Streaming Rewards

There are more than the official live streams—tune in to a partnered co-stream during Worlds to earn additional rewards through Twitch Drops! If you watch a partnered Pokémon TCG co-stream for at least an hour, you can round out your deck-building accessories with the Spheal Appeal deck box, coin, and card sleeves for Pokémon TCG Live. These in-game items are only available for a limited time. Watching a partnered Pokémon GO co-stream for 30 minutes can net you unique Timed Research that ends in an encounter with a costumed Pikachu perfect for celebrating the World Championships!

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet: Tomoya Ogawa’s Sylveon

Tomoya Ogawa was able to secure his victory in the Senior Division of last year’s World Championships in Yokohama, Japan, with the help of his trusty Sylveon—and now you can have it join your team! Keep an eye on the official 2024 Worlds stream for a password you can use in the Mystery Gift feature of your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game to receive Tomoya Ogawa’s Sylveon.

This special Sylveon comes with the same moves and stats as Tomoya’s, so give it a try on your own competitive team! You’ll even see that it has a special ribbon that, when assigned, imparts it with the title “Sylveon the Battle Champion” when it’s sent out in battle.
