The official Japanese Pokémon TCG Website has announced details and revealed new cards that will be in the upcoming XY8 expansion set Blue Shock (青い衝撃) and Red Flash (赤い閃光) which will be released in Japan on September 26th, 2015.


This expansion introduces a new game mechanic called BREAK Evolution (BREAK進化) which allows players to evolve an in-play card with a gold bodied evolution version. The card is placed horizontally on top of the current in-play card unlike the previous evolutions in the chain which are still completely covered.

BREAK Evolution inherits the previous [Pokémon]'s "Moves, Abilities, Weakness, Resistance, Retreat Cost".

Marumiya Pokémon Products

Starting in July 2015, Marumiya Pokémon Furikake Mini Packs and Pokémon Curry - Pork and Sweet Corn (ポケモンふりかけミニパック ポケモンカレー<ポーク&コーン甘口>) products will contain 1 of 5 different Pokémon Cards. Dedenne 13/XY-P, Keromatsu 36/XY-P, Pikachu 64/XY-P, Harimaron 148/XY-P and Kabigon 149/XY-P are the cards that will be distributed. Furikake packs cost 220 yen plus tax and the Curry cost 130yen plus tax.

The official Japanese Pokémon Card Game website and the official Japanese 7-Eleven website announced that a Pokémon Bento (ポケモンべんとう) lunch box will be available to reserve from June 22nd, 2015 until July 29th, 2015. The box costs 1480yen and will be distributed to participating 7-Eleven stores from July 18th, 2015 until August 2nd, 2015. A XY TCG promo card will be distributed with this bento box and details of this card have been added to our TCG dex.

The Pokémon bento box includes:

2 x Omurice rolls, hamburger, Napolitan, fried chicken, french fries, sausage, broccoli, star-shaped carrot, a plastic reusable container, chopsticks, a handkerchief and an original Pikachu 154/XY-P TCG card.

The July 2015 issue of Corocoro hit Japanese stores on June 15th, 2015 and the issue reveals tons of new Hoopa related information as well as promotions for the 18th Pocket Monsters movie The Archdjinni of Rings: Hoopa. Images from this issue have been added to our Imageboard thread.


Hoopa will be distributed to Japanese players of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire from July 18th, 2015 until September 30th, 2015. It is level 50 and knows the moves Hyperspace Hole, Psychic, Nasty Plot and Astonish and will be holding a Focus Sash item.

This year's move attendance freebies is a set of two gifts:
An original "Hoopa" TCG card (XY-P/155) with its move "Appear Rush", it can deal up to 150 damage!"

2 Psychic Energy: "Flip one coin for each of your benched Pokemon, this move does 30 damage for each heads."


A special "Hoopa" Pokémon tretta "With its special move "Appear", it can summon all kinds of Pokémon." This set is limited to 3 million total attendants, with each theater having its own limited supply.

The latest Japanese Pokémon TCG Expansion has been revealed via sell sheets for merchants. The XY8 Japanese TCG Expansion sets will be called: Blue Shock (青い衝撃) / Red Flash (赤い閃光). The sets will be released on September 25th, 2015 and both set have at least 59 cards. Booster packs which contain 5 cards will be sold for 150yen each plus tax. The set booster pack covers feature Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y respectfully.


Two additional 12 card packs called: BREAK Evolution Packs (BREAK 拡張パック) will be released for 500yen plus tax each. BREAK Evolution Pack: Raichu BREAK and a BREAK Evolution Pack: Onvern BREAK are the names of each pack.


A deck box and card shields featuring Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y artwork will be released for 362yen plus tax each.


A special Card Box with Energy Cards: Mega Mewtwo Mega Mewtwo Y (エネルギーカード付き カードボックス メガミュウツーX・メガミュウツーY) will also be released on September 25th, 2015 for 500yen plus tax. It includes 45 Energy cards, 9 types with 5 cards of each energy type, 250 card shields as well as 5 special cards.

The official Pokémon website has announced that Lysandre’s Trump Card has been banned from all Pokémon TCG tournament play.

Lysandre’s Trump Card Banned

June 01, 2015 - The Trainer card Lysandre’s Trump Card is being removed from Pokémon TCG tournament play.

As of June 15, 2015, Lysandre’s Trump Card (XY—Phantom Forces, 99/119 and 118/119) will be banned from all sanctioned Play! Pokémon tournaments in most of the world. (The ban will go into effect in Japan on June 20.) This card has created an undesirable play environment because it:

• Eliminates one of your opponent’s victory conditions (running out of cards in your deck)
• Allows repeated use of powerful Trainer cards
• Allows drawing through your deck quickly with minimal repercussions
• Extends the time of battles

All sanctioned tournaments will be affected by this change, including Pokémon National Championships occurring after June 15 (except in Japan) and the Pokémon World Championships in August.

The official Japanese website has announced a new promotion called the Hoopa Appear! Campaign (フーパのおでまし～！キャンペーン) to promote the upcoming 18th Pocket Monsters movie The Archdjinni of Rings: Hoopa. Starting on June 20th, 2015 until supplies last, people that buy 500 yen or more worth of qualifying merchandise at participating stores, can enter a small lottery to win the prizes. The prizes are chosen at random and there is no way to determine which prize you will get. Participants draw a slip from the Appear! Box (おでましBOX ). Each slip has the name of the prize you win on it. There are two different slips for the Tretta's, but the cards slips just say "card" on them and you get a random one.

Participating store chains include: Ito-Yokado (イトーヨーカドー)、Aeon (イオン)、 Aeon Supercenter (イオンスーパーセンター)、Toys"R"Us (トイザらス)、Apita (アピタ)、Piago (ピアゴ)、Al-Plaza (アル・プラザ)、Heiwado (平和堂)、 Daiei (ダイエー)、Fuji (フジ) and Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores (ポケモンセンター・ポケモンストア).
