More Mysterious Pokémon Spotted in the Great Crater of Paldea!
BELLEVUE, WA—January 12, 2023—The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo celebrated discovering over one thousand Pokémon across all titles with the reveal of Gholdengo. The new Pokémon evolves from Chest Form Gimmighoul or Roaming Form Gimmighoul in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games.
More details were also shared about the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, available now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch system.
Introducing Gholdengo
Gimmighoul evolves into Gholdengo when it levels up after its Trainer has collected 999 Gimmighoul Coins. Apparently, Gholdengo is a lively and cheerful Pokémon whose body is made of a thousand coins.
Gholdengo functions by controlling the coins that comprise its body, and it even uses them as weapons in battle. The coins are densely packed, making Gholdengo durable. Gholdengo can attack by firing coins from anywhere on its body.

The article describes Iron Valiant as resembling both Gardevoir and Gallade. Iron Valiant is also said to be cruel enough to take its brilliantly shining blade and cut down anyone confronting it without hesitation.*
Name: Iron Valiant Category: Paradox Pokémon Type: Fairy/Fighting Height: 4'7" (1.4 m) Weight: 77.2 lbs. (35 kg)

Dragapult Basics
Dragapult begins each match as Dreepy before evolving into Drakloak at Lv. 5 and Dragapult at Lv. 9. Each time this Pokémon deals damage to opposing Pokémon, its boosted basic attack gauge increases. When the boosted basic attack gauge is full, the Pokémon’s basic attacks become boosted attacks. Boosted attacks deal increased damage and have an area of effect centered on opposing Pokémon they hit. The boosted basic attack gauge will begin decreasing if this Pokémon does not deal damage to opposing Pokémon for a set amount of time. Dreepy, Drakloak, and Dragapult all share the same Ability, Clear Body. This Ability reduces the duration of debuffs inflicted on the Pokémon.
Lv. 1 & 3 Moves
Astonish - Dreepy lets out a sound blast in a forward direction. The shout explodes when it hits an opposing Pokémon or after traveling a set distance, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time.
Quick Attack - Dreepy moves quickly in the designated direction, increasing its basic attack speed for a short time.
Lv. 5 Moves
Dragon Dance - The Pokémon flies in a circular pattern in the designated direction. While it’s flying, it continuously deals damage to nearby opposing Pokémon with basic attacks that deal less damage but have increased attack speed. If Dragon Dance is used again while the Pokémon is flying, it stops flying and moves a short distance in the designated direction. If the Pokémon knocks out a Pokémon on the opposing team, Dragon Dance’s cooldown is reset. If the Pokémon assists in knocking out a Pokémon on the opposing team, Dragon Dance’s cooldown is reduced. When this move is used, Dragon Breath’s cooldown is reset. Dragon Dance can be upgraded so that while the Pokémon is flying, its basic attacks also restore its HP when they hit.
Phantom Force - For a short time, Phantom Force increases the Pokémon’s movement speed and has it enter stealth. While the Pokémon is in stealth, the boosted basic attack gauge increases. When stealth ends, the Pokémon’s basic attack speed is increased for a short time. After Phantom Force is learned, if the Pokémon knocks out a Pokémon from the opposing team, Phantom Force’s cooldown is reset, and the user Pokémon’s Attack is increased until the end of the battle. This Attack increase effect can stack. Phantom Force can be upgraded to reduce its cooldown when the Pokémon deals damage to opposing Pokémon with basic attacks.
Lv. 7 Moves
Dragon Breath - The Pokémon exhales a mighty gust in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. The gust also leaves the ground burning for a set amount of time, and opposing Pokémon in this area of effect take damage over time and have their movement speed decreased for a short time. If Dragon Breath is used while the Pokémon is flying with Dragon Dance, the mighty gust is exhaled along Dragon Dance’s flight path, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. Dragon Breath can be upgraded to deal increased damage to opposing Pokémon and further decrease their movement speed.
Shadow Ball - The Pokémon hurls a shadowy blob in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it touches and applying a mark to them. If the Pokémon attacks marked opposing Pokémon, it deals increased damage to them. The fourth time the Pokémon attacks marked opposing Pokémon, the mark is removed, but the damage dealt by the attack is further increased and the user Pokémon recovers HP. After using Shadow Ball, the Pokémon moves a short distance in a designated direction. Shadow Ball can be upgraded to increase the amount of base damage and additional damage dealt.
Dragapult’s Unite Move, Dreep and Destroy
Dragapult launches two Dreepy, and each deals damage to a different opposing Pokémon in the area of effect. The lower the opposing Pokémon’s remaining HP is, the more damage the Dreepy deal. If there is only one opposing Pokémon in the area of effect, both Dreepy will target that Pokémon and deal damage to it. A maximum of 2 uses can be kept in reserve for Dreep and Destroy.
Metagame Watch
Dragapult is a tricky Ranged Attacker that takes advantage of unique movement options and high damage from boosted attacks. With its powerful boosted attacks that deal extra area-of-effect damage, Dragapult is adept at quickly defeating wild Pokémon and cleaning up team fights. A moveset featuring Phantom Force and Shadow Ball is especially strong when focusing on boosted attacks as the primary source of damage.
Strong Against: Urshifu
Whether Urshifu chooses to master Single Strike Style or Rapid Strike Style, Dragapult has a clear advantage thanks to its range and stealthy trickery. As long as Dragapult plays cautiously and keeps movement options like Dragon Dance or Shadow Ball in reserve, it’s unlikely that strong Melee All-Rounders like Urshifu can sufficiently threaten it. Urshifu’s Surging Strikes and Throat Chop are great options for trying to close the gap against Dragapult, but they likely aren’t enough without coordinating hindrances with other teammates.
Weak Against: Zoroark
Dragapult does high damage over time with boosted basic attacks, Shadow Ball, and Phantom Force, but the Pokémon runs into trouble against Speedsters that quickly deal high amounts of damage. Zoroark’s Night Slash, Feint Attack, and Shadow Claw are all strong ways for Zoroark to quickly close the gap against Dragapult and take advantage of its lower HP pool. Players using Dragapult should wait for Zoroark’s moves to go on cooldown before getting comfortable in a team fight.
