Kuni is one of five Kimono Girls who live in Ecruteak City. She describes herself as "the one who twirls even underground". Her main partner Pokémon is Vaporeon.

Originally named "Sumomo (スモモ)" in the original Japanese version of Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, as well as the Anipoke, her name was changed to "Komomo (コモモ)" in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, as well as Pokémon Evolutions, due to a conflict with the Gym Leader of the same name. The English dub version of the Anipoke accidently refers to her as her original Japanese name.
