Lyra is the female protagonist from HeartGold and SoulSilver. Her design is loosely based off kris-game, who she replaced.

Game canon:

If chosen as the player character, Lyra sets off on her adventure from New Bark Town with a starter Pokémon from Professor Elm. There, she takes on Johto Gym Leaders, takes down the newly revived Team Rocket, crosses paths with her rival Silver, and becomes Indigo League Champion. After that, she goes to Kanto, beating the Gym Leaders there too. Finally, she takes on the legend of legends atop Mt. Silver: Red, defeating him. Lyra is the childhood friend of ethan-game. In canon, when she is not chosen, she owns a Marill and is childhood friends of Ethan and Silver.
Lyra appears in Pokémon Masters EX. It's revealed she also was childhood friends with kris-game. Her partner is Chikorita, which can evolve. She also befriends a Jigglypuff.

Pokemon the Series

Lyra meets Ash and his friends just after they rescued her Marill. Hosting a Johto Festa, she invited Ash and his friends to check it out and traveled with him shortly before heading off a journey with Khoury, who she has a crush on.

Her game self made a cameo in GOTCHA! with the other protagonists.
