To promote the new Pokémon movie, Rica Matsumoto appeared on today's episode of the anime talkshow Animemashite. During the interview she announced a new album of hers, scheduled for release around August. The album would contain covers of the opening songs for various anime she had starred in over the years, as well as one original song.

The album would also contain a Pokemon song. Since Rica had never done a theme song for any of the Pokémon movies, she wanted to do a cover of one for this album, deciding on Mamorubeki mono (守るべきもの), the theme song for Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation the Movie: The Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea, Manaphy, originally performed by Sowelu.
